  • great AFGHAN POEM !

  • بشنو از نی‌ چون حکایت می‌کند.....

  • what a voice

  • I wonder how many people appreciate the mystical / philosophical appeal of Rumi. The poetry can appeal to anybody regardless of what religion or culture they come from. Just like Kahlil Gibran.

  • So in every age, a saint arises ... whether seated before you or hid from sight He is like light and wisdom is his Gabriel The lesser saints but lamps lit up by him ... Light emanates in grades as per a scheme, for seven hundred veils obscure Truth's light and all these veils of light stack up in tiers. Behind each veil there stands a certain folk – these veils – rank after rank up to the top … Masnavi 2: 815-22

  • RUMI = AFGHAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very nice, i got so emotional. i love Islam and its sutdents such as Rumi

  • can somebody help me to find the song by min 3.20? would be great, thanks

  • Continue to boil and burn away all remnants of self......

  • As much as it is true that Rumi was a Muslim, it is as true that only a scarce minority of Muslim are Sufis. Instead, Sufis are suppressed in Iran, they are blown up on a regular basis in Pakistan, for the sake of the "true Islam". Referrals that Rumi was a muslim are referrals to the meaningless. He was as much Jew, Hindu or Christian as Goethe was muslim. Religions of confession divide and kill. Rumi is unifying all living, as one of few ambassadors of humanity's bright side.

  • Truly beautiful and truthful.......but just a gentle reminder to some who will watch this....Rumi was a Muslim to his core. Sufism without Islam is diminished. Peace.

  • Interesting that some people here have spoken about all major creeds being the same thing. i see stark spiritual similarities in Sufism and Buddhism - especially Zen (Which is also thought to be the core or even heart of Buddhism). All relgions in essence are merely methods to reach something inconceivable i believe. The Vedanta philosophy puts its very nicely with all major religions essentially being in direct unison and act as different methods to work to the ultimate same goal of salvation.

  • mullana jalaludeen balkhi(rumi) from balkh in afghanistan, god bless you and god bless afghanz,

  • Woderfull :) *****

  • Great performance from a great actress.

  • Fantastic performance! YOU and Rumi's words are one.

  • Rumi ,like all true seekers, claims that all true paths lead to one source. U can be a Muslim,Jew, Buddhist, Christian, and whatever.............but we all have come from the same source, and will return to the same source.

  • An actucal poem from Rumi's Mathnavi. It is possible for a Turk and Hindow to have the same langauge (sing the same song) while two tazis (arabs) be like strangers (singing different song).

Quran says God sent messengers to every tribes to teach the path of surrounding (real Islam and not I-S-L-A-M) to their people. And if Quran is true than Rumi's words transcends a creed. Although he did believe in doing Nawafil and prayers as Muslim as his intro to 5th book of Mathnavi says. peace

  • @Amortage Nopes!! You must understand the stage/states through which a Sufi passes and you would be able to decrypt their message!!

  • @Amortage i dont know which poetry of rumi or what iterpretation of rumi you have read but that is not his message in his poetry. He calls for the love of God and he speaks with the love for fellow humans to call them to love God.

  • @Amortage is that one path to God. then yes historically the jews followed the commandments of God. Some of them went astray ad God sent Prophets to remind them of the truth. Jesus wassent specifically to the israelites. Some accepted his message. others didnt. then some went against Jesus message to worship God alone. Muhammad was the last Prophet sent to all humanity and the Quran is the final revelation of the Word of God. So one is responsible to accept Gods message when it is given. Peace

  • @aman7313

I should have known. You follow a false pedophile prophet $ an evil book. I read the Taqiyya you spewed about Israel and the Jews. LIES. You r false & doomed. You say "peace" but it means nothing to you.

I want peace but the only way to have peace currently, is to excise islam from Judeo-Christian nations. islam is simply not compatible with our way of life, morals or value. muslims are not interested in our way of life. islam needs to end or be kept away from us. Evil, evil, evil.

  • @Lagolop your quite educated about islam. This knowledge will testify against you on the day of judgement. Taqiyya is haram by the way... its just a nice word for lying. anyhow mate try to read about Islam without a prejudiced mind... so you can understand and respect your neighbors rather than insulting others and spreading hatred. Peace

  • @aman7313

Excuse me, I'm currently watching something of interest. And typical of the IDF, they are heros :)))

    watch?v=LNdsa7GfM04

  • As an atheist, I find great meaning and beauty in Rumi's poems. The followers in Islam should take pride in the fact that Rumi does not have meaning solely for Muslims, for if this were true, I doubt he would notable at all. His secular nature and wide appeal is what makes him popular.

  • to Tomeh: You are wrong. All the major creeds in their essence says the same thing. The path of surrounding can not be diminish without the ego dominated self being tarnished. In Bible talks about the authentic self, In Quran it is called Nafs Ammara, In Hinduism the Lower self. Rumi really talks Islam as his major work "Mathnavi" uses 600 verses of Quran and 2200 saying of Mohammad (pbuh) His spiritual aspect of Islam " love and surroundings" is what makes him appealing to all seekers.

  • @tomah92 I'm glad you like his poems but he wasn't at all 'secular'

  • @tomah92 a spiritual person deemed secular. i heard it all. LIsten to the love that Rumi talks about. It is the love of God.

  • Leant THIS in second or third grade. Knows it by heart even after some fouty years. Have always known it by the heart, by the very sole. "kaz neistan ta mara beboridenand, Dar naifram mard o zan naldeand" Love itPeace be onto U.

  • Cool. Who is she? She is wearing Afghan traditional dress :)

By the way, reading and hearing Rumi's poems in his own language (Dari/Persian) is something else!

  • i wish there were no sepertion between me an u. so is da way of ma heart

  • Very beautiful. Thank you.

  • I don't believe Rumi said Islam is the only path, so why would he have written that. The second quote is right, I know he wrote that one.

  • Comment removed

  • Effectively you're saying that Rumi was exclusively a Muslim and anything he wrote that wasn't about Islam is made up. I don't believe that: Lover's nationality is separate from all other religions,

The lover's religion and nationality is the Beloved (God).

The lovers cause is separate from all other causes

Love is the astrolabe of God's mysteries

Translated by a Persian Majid Nani!!!!!!!!!

  • U are ignorant of Rumi! These secular-spiritualists don't know anything about Rumi!

Both quotes are correct, and even in the second one, Rumi says that Islam is the only way! Have u not read the Quran?

    Rumi is a MUSLIM-Saint!

I think the Catholics would be offended if u took their saints and turned him into what u are doing!

There is NO tasawwuf without the love of the holy Prophet (S)!

  • Yup, I know you'd like to take the Islam out of Rumi, but Rumi was a very devout Muslim. I'm speaking of the historical Rumi, not the Rumi that some in the West like to imagine.

  • I remember the Dalai lama once said about religion "My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness." I think Rumi wouldn't disagree.

  • Domesta333

You are write my friend: Peace = Islam

  • @Domsta333 i would advise you to read Rumi from his primary sources.

  • @aman7313 Oh really, "As long as you don't come by Muhammad (PBUH) first, you won't reach us".

Is that only what Rumi represents?

Rumi's words only work for Muslims? I'm not denying that Rumi was a practising Muslim but the words reach out to all of us.

  • BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! Great performance! I have to go see you live before I leave this physical plane. You're a great inspiration! Thank you for posting this video.
