It seems as if you play sforzandi on every other note in the opening passage. The urtext is marked "cantabile", or singing. A singer would not, I think, heave with every other breath. The shifts are a bit sloppy, and you tend to slow down approaching more difficult passages, which interrupts the rhythm of the piece. Slow practice and finger-strength training are the best ways to approach this concerto. It is, after all, structured like an etude!
