To complete the announcer's last sentence: "The Nittany Lion across the way and of course the tiger on this side of Missouri." There was a real tiger in a cage on the Missouri sideline.
@bippus13 Yeah, but the REAL Lions won the game. And Missouri lost. So who cares about who had the real "kitty?" Penn State 'in 68 and '69 had back-to-back undefeated seasons and back-to-back Orange Bowl wins. And the beginning of JoePa's legacy.....
too bad MU can no longer go to the orange bowl...damn conferences and their bowls...we used to have a tradition at MU where we threw oranges onto the field the first game of the season showing we were gonna make it to the orange bowl...
thank you for posting. The tiger's had their jerseys stolen before the game so they had to borrow some at the last minute. That is a young Dan Devine talking to QB Terry McMillan. If you notice, Terry is favouring his right knee. Mizzou had 7 interceptions and a fumble and still only lost by a TD.
problem is missouri only scored a field goal lol. my dad was there at that game so he could tell you all about it. But until last season mizzou had not done much since 1970(the year Devine left) and powers was alright but he kinda just went poof, so we'll just have to wait to see if Pinkel can turn the program around. i have faith in him b/c of his experience as assistant coach of the 1991 national championship washington team
Just saw Joe Pa on ESPN, feel sorry for the PSU nation

Poor lioness, it looks like she actually thought that was a real mate!
That's Jim Simpson and Al DeRogatis calling the game for NBC.
