They could have made a whole series with these guys: "Joe and Gus go on a Safari", "Joe and Gus join the Army", "Joe and Gus go Hunting", "Joe and Gus Run for Office", and "Gus and Joe's High School reunion" where they give all the girls they liked the "killer looks." LOL theres no end to where they could have gone, but sadly it didn't catch on. Most people would rather had seen "Titanic" or "Good Will Hunting" than a movie about two friends that go fishing.
This movie is better than the "The Godfather"! I wonder why it didn't receive any Academy Awards? Joe Pesci and Danny Glover are superb actors in this masterpiece of cinema!
Pesci looks lnhuman very frequently throughout this scene. All Glover says is 'Yea, yea, yea!". Pesci, retard gargle of expensive red wine. Glover can't have steak or he'll light hotel room on fire like a face.
it is a shit movie, but it has it's moments and this is no disrespect to Joe Pesci or Danny Glover who are two amazing actors, this is more for children. atleast i think it is...
This movie had so much potential for sequels but did'nt do that well at the box office. I loved it! I think Joe Pesci and Danny Glover were perfect as friends. The end scene was the best with the gator following them to Jersey.
along with "Holy Shmokes!" Love that line too. The best line is when they leave the burning gas station after getting their car back and seeing the firetruck heading the other way, "There must be a fire someplace"
They could have Gone Fishin -Alaska, (and chased by a bear), Ozarks (caught in a moonshine ring),Rio Grande( mixed up with illegal aliens smufggling) Ice fishing etc.. Holy Shmokes, there is no end to where they could have gone and done. Too bad it did'nt catch on.
They could've made a whole series. I mean, if they made a sequel to Without a Paddle, which sucked, why not a sequel to Gone Fishin'...other than the issue of salaries?
Without a paddle, which I loved, had a final story ending, finding DBs money. 'Gone Fishin' had a continuous story, two bubbling idiots going fishing every year and getting into trouble every year. It opened the door to so much more, whereas 'Without a Paddle' ended with finding DB. 'Deliverence' may have sequel potential but not as open as "Gone Fishin' You got to admit that the acting talent in 'Fishin' was a lot better than 'Paddle'
Sadly, it did'nt draw in enough to cover the expenses for Joe and Danny's salary. I'm a canoe nut so I liked without a paddle especially with Burt Reynolds at the end. I'd love to see a sequel to 'Deliverance'. With the way 'hoolyweird' is running low on good ideas and doing remakes, we may see a one of 'Deliverance'. Who knows? I guess we will have to enjoy what is available.
Great movie, been a while since I've seen it. Any movie with joe pesci is a good movie.

They should make a sequel to this movie. Call it "Gone on Safari", or "Gone Safarin'"---Joe and Gus go to Africa.

But then Joe Pesci and Danny Glover probably get paid far more than the guys in both Without a Paddle movies.
