Ah I love Kung-Fu movies. There needs to be a resurgence of Hong Kong cinema! Bruce Lee is such a boss. To any real fans of Kung-Fu (and no, Kung-Fu panda doesn't count) keep on the lookout for Films of Fury, it's a great kung fu documentary on-demand.
Im yet to see an uncut version of The Big Boss - certain bits have always been cut. I think in this trailer when the guy gets struck with the saw - its cut when he hits..
such a great movie...the scene where lee and the cousin are outside the gamblin house...he's all "just the 4 of you?" ...and theres actually 8...hahaha
The film was meant to be called Chinese Connection as a play on French Connection since both had a drugs theme but the distributors accidentally mixed up the titles.
I suppose in the long run the title switches made sense.
What Bruce does in Big Boss with his fists certainly has fury (the guy who leaves an outline in the wall and the way the two main villains die).
As for Fist of Fury, you could say that both the translator and the Chinese cook were the Chinese connection the Japanese had.
yo fui el que mate a lee cuando estaba en compañia de nora miao yoestaba en ese departamento y le di a nora una pastilla que le causaria un derrrame cerebral
I lived is Asia (Japan,Korea,Thailand,Singapore,Hong Kong & The Philippines), & Bruce Lee is "Still" in the media! He is highly revered in The Far East!
Say what you want, but the truth is out there!!!!!!!!!!!
Bruce Lee lives in the hearts of those he touched! Be it his personal or professional life.............
oh, and the first ones I think are actually now the american ones. Big Boss was called (Fists OF Fury) at first in America until 2005 for some reason. But idk, lol grr...its still
This is FistS of Fury... the other film is Fist_ of Fury... 30+ years later, and this is still causing (reasonable) confusion. Basically, Fists (plural) of Fury is the American title of The Big Boss... and Fist (singular) of Fury is the original English-language title of the Hong Kong version of The Chinese Connection.
You must be a youngster. Bruce was so fast with his hands and feet that his actions had to be slowed down for the cameras. That was first reported back when he was doing the 1966-67 Television series "THE GREEN HORNET". Also, his fight scenes from his four 1970s completed films and a fifth uncompleted film GAME OF DEATH remain the best ever. GAME OF DEATH was completed after he had died and would have had a different and better story line had he lived to complete it.
this trailer for the big boss aka fist of fury has been very well remastered! about the high jumps even higher jumping dogs-fantastical kung fu tricks like men being punched through sheds and the like! Bruce Lee didnt want all that in the movie but he wasnt directing after putting up with crapy direction , Bruce took it apon himself to help out with the fights and action Ov pissing off Lo Wei and a few others-Karate, Kung FU! lol- dont you just love the old 1970's trailers there fantastic !!
Lol. They're just tossing those dogs into the air at him at the 1 min point. Lee was brilliant and this is a classic but that scene looks silly. I hope they had a cushion for the dogs to land on.
Notice the saw in the head scene was editied out, and Bruce Lee started out with wing chun gung fu,then he created JKD. He had JKD created before this movie, but he really started using it in The Way Of The Dragon when he was the director, producer, and star.
LOL, reading the 20 ft claim was ridiculous but your 15ft claim just made me burst out. No offense to you but im just gonna say 8 feet at best given that he bends his feet in a lu-kane dragon kick manner.
Does anyone here or CousinCheng agree that Bruce lee could take over the bunch of american football players running toward him, trying to takle him down, all at the same time, with no difficulties?
I'm so glad I've been a die hard Bruce Lee fan for the past 39 years and I'm gonna be 41 this coming May 29th.

Nope. It's by the thigh, I suppose.

I never understood why they changed the title of this in America? 'The Big Boss' brings more of an appeal to the plot, IMO.

To This Date,No Martial Artist has had a huge impact on the screen like Bruce Lee.

What about Jackie Chan?
getgus 3 years ago
Jackie Chan sucks.................
TariusShinobi 3 years ago
He made guys like Bruce Lee.
getgus 3 years ago
I don't think so!
Jackie Chan's first scene, was a beatdown by Bruce in Enter the Dragon's dungeon battle!
Even in death,Bruce Lee is still on top!
He set the standard to which Martial Arts cinema is compared to!
Don't get me wrong Jackie Chan,Jet Li,Donny Yen & others are great!
But Bruce Lee brought the genre to world wide x-posure!

the big boss = fists of fury
fist of fury = the chinese connection
way of the dragon = return of the dragon
the first is the chinese names for the movie.. the second is the american names of them. Why couldn't they just leave the names the same!
ExpiredToday 4 years ago
Probably because Big Boss and Chinese Connection
had the same names?
oh, and the first ones I think are actually now the american ones. Big Boss was called (Fists OF Fury) at first in America until 2005 for some reason. But idk, lol grr...its still
confusing me, I would just perfer calling it
the Big Boss though.

Jeet Kun Do is a TYPE of Kung Fu. Kung Fu includes many different martial art styles, including Tai Chi.

Still Bruce Lee kicks ass.

20 ft? thats 2 basketball goals. some of the stunts in this film are fake. he could probably jump 15 ft, but 20? thats a little ridiculous.

I know, I was just making an exaggeration.
