  • ajjjajaja

  • Between the last quality control inspection and the launch a piece of metal worked its way into the engine. After the ignition of the thrusters, the rocket managed to fly 16 inches into the air before the engine disintigrated. This brought the thrust to zero, and the rocket plunged beneath the platform, crushing the 200 tonne blast deflector. The rocket and satellite then broke into pieces and sunk to the ocean floor, the plaform and blast deflector suffered only minor damage.

  • Actually I was reading that the blast deflector broke away and sunk as well. That is what has taken so long for their return to flight was replacing the deflector. They are expected to fly again soon.

  • That was a countdown... to destruction LOL .. I love the logo at the end of the video too. Convinces me to invest.

  • Go inertial! LOL! um or maybe not.

  • It went inertial. Just not in the direction they had hoped it would.

  • THE FIRST MISSION TO THE CORE!

  • dayumm!

  • funny that i was just watching a doco about how they made everything and showed heaps of good launchs. They didnt show this bit though lol.

  • Love how the voice inflection of the last woman speaking changes through the middle of her last word. She's like "go inerti...shit"

  • i cant believe they thought it was actually going to launch, the heat is so intence it like melt evwerything but concrete, and they are gonna lauch it off a metal boat lol

  • Sea Launch has had many successful rocket launches, this was likely a fluke of the thrusters on the rocket itself, not the stability or make-up of the pad.

  • thats it now,no more football next season

  • I hope this doesn't make my satellite TV bill go up.

  • lol, just read about it.. so i thought id c if it was on youtube.. and it was.. i love 2007

  • The satellite was NSS-8. She was heading for 53E.

Owned by SES Global, she was meant to replace NSS-707.

  • Hope they had insurance
