Cleaning the Closet (Part 1)

I know, it's a habit I've been trying to break. I am amazed at how much stuff I've given away in the last year or so!!!

I need to go through my closet and get rid of all the stuff I don't wear anymore or NEVER wore (ah, Christmas gifts). Charities are gonna love me...or hate me depending on the clothes.

It took a tornado ten minutes to clean out what my sister in law had in her closets that she had been collecting for about 20 years. I took a small truck load to the salvation army (charity) that we washed and dried for her. The rest, another truck load, we took to the dump/tip. She had clothes there that she had not even seen for at least 15 years.

People tend to give their rellies clothes for gifts so it is not hard for them to mount up in the closets.

I recycle everything I can.

We just went through this. Add to that all the baby things (my youngest is now 16) that I had to pry out of Karen's hands. We kept "mementos" of the baby stuff, but bags...

Next is the toy closet. Piles of ill purchased board games to entice the kids away from the Atari. Yeah.

Oh, I still have a lot of crap piled up, don't get me wrong!! But getting rid of an entire trash bag of clothes is simply AWESOME, seriously!

Haha, as I was explaining to upliftedsoul, it has a funky stain on the back of it from some acid burning it. I was SO pissed when it happened and was able to save the shirt, sort of, but then I never wore it again. Grr. I love that shirt, too!

Haha, you don't know the reason it sits in my closet.... there's a weird stain on the back side of it from some hydrochloric acid or something, its really funky-colored and I've been scared to wear it since. I've had that shirt for like 10 years, and only wore it like 20 times or something. *sad face*

That's what most of this stuff was, the just-in-case stuff. But yeah, I quit smoking in April and a lot of this stuff kinda smells like stale smoke, so it's good to be rid of them. I'll certainly amass a new pile of just-in-cases, it's only a matter of time. :)
