..thing is with American gymnasts...is that they have difficult elements in their routines...but they are not being consistent...which leaves winning a competition a little more to chance

No, Bridget was the youngest on the 2008 Olympic team. She had just turned 16 before Beijing on June 23. She is still only 17 in this competition, wich would make her 20 in time for the 2012 games.

I just love her Church, so gorgeous. Wish she could point her feet on all her releases though, that's basically the only thing that bugs me about her gymnastics! Her dismount was lovely, thank god she didn't go back to that 1/1 DLO.
