Big Boss is also the greatest soldier that ever lived and was the one who surpassed The Boss. He even went on to be known for his compassion on the battlefield because he usually knocked out most of the enemies on the battlefield and you can only do that if you are very skilled. In other words Big Boss is the best of the best. XD

If you had that MGS:TTS Snake texture hack released in that pack on KC:MM, and the peacewalker Big Boss mod this would of been alot better since Brawl Snake and Green Snake look absolutely the same.

IMHO, Big Boss was always the superior one (obviously, since he's Solid, Liquid and Solidus in one).
Sure, Solid beat him with a self-made flamethrower, but he was in his prime while Big Boss was old, and for all we know, he could've been beaten to a bloody pulp and then simply ambushed Big Boss (game mechanics =/= story events).
I mean, even Kojima keeps hinting in all games that Big Boss (in his prime) is still unsurpassed. Heck, Naked Snake totally owned Solid in MGS4's ending....
In MGS3 they say it that Big Boss aka Naked Snake's name is John and at the end of MGS1 if you got the other ending cuz you gave up when you were being shocked by Ocelot. You tell Otocan your real name is Dave and he tells you his name is Hal ( ha ha very funny) I think they just did that cuz the voice actor is David Hayder.
Solid Snake is the clone, Big Boss is the orignal. Big Boss was oringally the commander of a spec ops group called FOXHOUND which Solid Snake was a member of. Big Boss sent Snake on a sucide mission, when Snake found out he was the bad guy they fought and Snake (belived to have) killed Big Boss in Metal Gear 1. They met once again in Zanzibar Land and Snake used a home made flame flower to torch Big Boss in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in MGS4 they make up however and Big Boss finally dies for good

The new FOXDIE was mutating also, nullifying the old FOXDIE if I recall but allegedly starting a chain of worser problems. Yes, he was talking about how he was made, but the context of the statement itself is made when discussing why all the tests being done on him before the game have been coming up positive and negative in awkward patterns, hence FOXDIE as a VIRUS that they didn't know EXACTLY was EVENTUALLY going to kill Snake was predictably damaging his body.

In Metal Gears 1 and 2, I don't know. Its an NES game, you can't really say EXACTLY how the fight looks, just that the player knew how to dodge bullets and knew EXACTLY which room Big Boss would become vulnerable in, where to find this weapon, not that they were able to sidestep and own Big Boss in a CQC fight as Young Solid Snake. They really should make a remake 3D game for those two progenitor games.

MG3? There WAS no MG3. There was MG1 and 2. Technically, Snake vowed off against USING CQC after MG1 when he found out BB was a "traitor", and he isn't EXPLICITLY shown using it either, not to the level that Big Boss does.

Now, to be honest and personal, I prefer BB as a character himself also. I'm not saying that Snake wasn't awesome or a superb soldier, but overall Big Boss suffered a LOT more injuries during his mission, physical and emotional turmoil. But really, that's just me, I liked having a character who appeared to be human to a regard, even though he wasn't when you saw him fight. And the scale of his opponents were a lot tougher than Snake's until about MGS4. Who else would Snake get his skill from?

Snake was in WHAT? His 40s? Again, Big Boss WHOOPED him in the ending, even if Snake beat him before he lost THEN. BOTH OF THEM WERE INFECTED WITH FOXDIE, BOTH OF THEIR BODIES WERE AGED and tired, and BB still showed superior combat ability.

Apparently you didn't check out all of the database or the wiki, Big Boss was born in the 1930s, and up to about Metal Gear NES and 2 that makes him in his 60s (possibly 65) when he battled Snake BOTH of those times. And technically with the Solid series, plus the MGS4 timeline, around his 80s, biologically perhaps not as the exact percentage of his salvaged corpse still in place are never...

We still don't know how much of Liquid and Solidius actually WENT into Big Boss's creation, apparently not much considering his appearance is relatively accurate to how he originally looked (besides obvious aging, he even still has his eyepatch when Solidus and Liquid both had usable eyes).
They never said it was kept in PERFECT SHAPE, why else would they NEED Liquid and Solidus to reform him? Again, the body DECAYS after death, in the end BB is a frail senior with some moves.

Snake beat Liquid, yes, that was a bit of a fluke. Liquid may have had all of Big Boss's dominant genes but not the SUPERIOR ones that made him such an excellent soldier. Solidus can't really be judged, if anything he is technically better than Snake as you said yes, but he was supplied with an exoskeleton.
And even being a perfect clone, AGAIN, human flesh and bones DECAY over time. A LOT of time passed between MGS2 and 4, and 1, meaning big Boss's body should have been very frail.
@TotalHawk solid snake did not beat liquid....it was foxdie that killed liquid. If foxdie had not killed him, liquid would have shot solid snake to death after the car accident in shadow moses escaping mission. And solid snake did not even fight solidus...it was raiden who defeated him.
first, Solid Snake IS the legendary soldier, second, in the Metal Gear saga (not Metal Gear Solid) Solid Snakes does fight Big Boss and comes out the winner.. Big Boss is a amazing soldier and a legend but Solid Snakes is better, dont underestimate him just cause he is a clone...

This is all stupid reasoning. First of all, clone's degenerate faster than THE ORIGINAL, so yes, I will underestimate him. Second, Big Boss had more purpose, AND we get to see him in his prime. And third, Solid Snake fights BIG BOSS when BB is an OLD MAN, 50s or 60s I believe, and all THREE times (MG1, 2, AND 4) Big Boss gives him a RUN FOR HIS MONEY. In MGS4, he whooped him in CQC too.

Big Boss is the better CQC fighter, he shows FAR BETTER use of it in MGS3 than Snake until about MGS4, though Snake was fighting teenagers and I'm sure Big Boss could have done the SAME if not BETTER considering he proved himself against Snake in the ending. Big Boss's story was very tragic and meaningful, as was Snake's with the whole aging plot, so they both win there. Big Boss as a character showed more emotion, but Snake developed more from when we first knew him. BB's is yet to be finished.
Clearly you haven't played MGS The Twin Snakes. It's exactly like MGS but with better graphics. Did you even see anything that Solid Snake does? Or perhaps in MGS4, when he enters the Resistance hideout? The only reason CQC was so prominent in MGS3 is because that's where they decided to incorporate it into the game. Anytime you see Solid Snake using it before then, he is clearly superior.
i beg to differ, even though big boss developed CQC with the boss he would proberly know more about CQC than snake but snake has also trained in CQC and proberly got rusty and snake beat big boss twice, plus snake don't only know CQC he knows other hand to hand fight skills, and at the end of 4 even though his body is the same age as big boss snake's body was weaker due to his degeneration, it doesn't matter if big boss was 50 or not he was still just as good as he was when he was younger.

Okay, to begin with, FOXDIE doesn't effect his body, and doesn't make it deteriorate. It attacks the heart inducing a lethal heart attack. Liquid did possess all of the Superior Genes, and at no point is there anything denying that fact, so you're simply wrong there. Solid Snake defeated both of them using his own personal growth from the experiences he himself had had. Solid Snake had the body of an 80 year old in MGS4. Not a 50 or 60 year old like when he fought BB.

Solid Snake is better than Big Boss...He killed him twice. At the end of MGS4, Solid Snake had only one year left of life, of course he's not going to be very strong. Big Boss had received body parts from Liquid and Solidus,and Liquid was in his prime when he died. If they were both in their prime, Solid Snake would win.
I hate it when people use that excuse. He was an OLD MAN then and he STILL gave Snake a run for his money. Guess what else? Big Boss had a few MINUTES of life left when he fought Snake, not to mention his brain and body had been wasting away under Patriot control. Liquid's body most likely DECAYED between MGS1 and 4, it doesn't matter what prime he was at when he died if the biomatter decays over times, and Solidus was OBVIOUSLY not in his prime and used technology.

Big Boss is also the greatest soldier that ever lived and was the one who surpassed The Boss. He even went on to be known for his compassion on the battlefield because he usually knocked out most of the enemies on the battlefield and you can only do that if you are very skilled. In other words Big Boss is the best of the best. XD

IMHO, Big Boss was always the superior one (obviously, since he's Solid, Liquid and Solidus in one).
Sure, Solid beat him with a self-made flamethrower, but he was in his prime while Big Boss was old, and for all we know, he could've been beaten to a bloody pulp and then simply ambushed Big Boss (game mechanics =/= story events).
I mean, even Kojima keeps hinting in all games that Big Boss (in his prime) is still unsurpassed. Heck, Naked Snake totally owned Solid in MGS4's ending....

In MGS3 they say it that Big Boss aka Naked Snake's name is John and at the end of MGS1 if you got the other ending cuz you gave up when you were being shocked by Ocelot. You tell Otocan your real name is Dave and he tells you his name is Hal ( ha ha very funny) I think they just did that cuz the voice actor is David Hayder.

Solid Snake is the clone, Big Boss is the orignal. Big Boss was oringally the commander of a spec ops group called FOXHOUND which Solid Snake was a member of. Big Boss sent Snake on a sucide mission, when Snake found out he was the bad guy they fought and Snake (belived to have) killed Big Boss in Metal Gear 1. They met once again in Zanzibar Land and Snake used a home made flame flower to torch Big Boss in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in MGS4 they make up however and Big Boss finally dies for good

@gaspar30 Exactly, they are like brothers if you think of it. The games wich fight each other are just two. The MSX's ones. Metal gear(1987) & Metal gear 2(1990). you can play it on bluemsx's emulator using a SCC cartridge (virtual)
for the sound on this last one, or play it in the re-edition of the MGS3 subsistence with new workart faithful to the shinkawa's concept.

In 1972 Jack had 8 clones, projects name: Les Enfant Terible (spelling?), 3 survived the project trhose 3: David, Liquid & Solidus. David and Jack fight in Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Jack dies both times but gets revived both times sinse Jack is in MGS4. & that should be the conclusion ^_^

No, There were supossed to be 8 of 'em but only three survived the project; David (AKA Solid Snake) Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake. The fact that there was a Solidus Snake was even revealed in MGS 1, but very quietly.
Liquid Snake died in The Shadow Moses Incident but since Revolver Ocelot had lost an arm, he took Liquids, which altered his DNA, making Liquid survive as a parasite. After that, they were as one called "Liquid Ocelot".

When you are near to metal gear he call you and say´s "mission cancelled" he´s not expected that you gone so far. In the last batle the time is running out and BB has a rocket launcher.
Solid snake kills him and escapes form Outer Heaven.

But try and play Metal Gear (MSX or NES) Big boss is who call you by codec as Campbell. And HE IS THE LAST BOSS, in "Metal Gear 1" and in "Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake" is the second time.
I÷m not played yet MGS4 so I dont know what happen very well.

Solid Snake has defeated Big boss twice!! The second time he beat him, Big Boss was a cyborg! You can read about it in the Metal Gear Solid Database which can be downloaded for free from the Playstation store! So no one can say that Snake's victory over Big Boss wasn't legitimate because Big Boss was old, he was a freakin' cyborg! Watch the end of MGS4 again to see that Big Boss did not disarm Snake. He pushed him, then hurried and gave him a hug before Snake kicked his butt a third time!!!

The new FOXDIE was mutating also, nullifying the old FOXDIE if I recall but allegedly starting a chain of worser problems. Yes, he was talking about how he was made, but the context of the statement itself is made when discussing why all the tests being done on him before the game have been coming up positive and negative in awkward patterns, hence FOXDIE as a VIRUS that they didn't know EXACTLY was EVENTUALLY going to kill Snake was predictably damaging his body.

How he was made, but in no way was FOXDIE helping, it was inadvertently targeting Liquid but in no way did it help the carrier. But actually, you and me have both gone off topic. We were arguing about who'd win and who was superior. The point is they both had FOXDIE in them, Snake being the carrier and Naked Snake being the one infected by the new FOXDIE. He said it had already begun eating at his body, for how long since he showed up unknown, though Snake was clearly in better shape than him.

In Metal Gears 1 and 2, I don't know. Its an NES game, you can't really say EXACTLY how the fight looks, just that the player knew how to dodge bullets and knew EXACTLY which room Big Boss would become vulnerable in, where to find this weapon, not that they were able to sidestep and own Big Boss in a CQC fight as Young Solid Snake. They really should make a remake 3D game for those two progenitor games.

MG3? There WAS no MG3. There was MG1 and 2. Technically, Snake vowed off against USING CQC after MG1 when he found out BB was a "traitor", and he isn't EXPLICITLY shown using it either, not to the level that Big Boss does.
PS - I don't have anything against you either, but I've been madcharging these games for a while now, when you tell someone who's been a fan for awhile "shut up, you're stupid, you're wrong, and Wikipedia (not actually) says I'M RIGHT so ha!" its a bit insulting.

Now, to be honest and personal, I prefer BB as a character himself also. I'm not saying that Snake wasn't awesome or a superb soldier, but overall Big Boss suffered a LOT more injuries during his mission, physical and emotional turmoil. But really, that's just me, I liked having a character who appeared to be human to a regard, even though he wasn't when you saw him fight. And the scale of his opponents were a lot tougher than Snake's until about MGS4. Who else would Snake get his skill from?

Remember Naomi's speech about how the new FOXDIE cells were causing/progressing within his body? It can be assumed those were part of the seizures Snake was constantly suffering, not to mention all of the cramps and other pains he endured. And its quite obvious from Snake's speech in the beginning that FOXDIE probably wasnt' doing much for his body.

Snake was in WHAT? His 40s? Again, Big Boss WHOOPED him in the ending, even if Snake beat him before he lost THEN. BOTH OF THEM WERE INFECTED WITH FOXDIE, BOTH OF THEIR BODIES WERE AGED and tired, and BB still showed superior combat ability.
And of note, to end this, remember the fight scene between Old Snake and Liquid Ocelot on the river?

Snake attempted to fight Ocelot, BEFORE he had the knife in his shoulder, BEFORE he was badly burnt, BEFORE he went through the hallway or break all those bones or got injected with Liquid's nanoserum thing.
Liquid EXPLICITLY stated: "Sorry, but when it comes to CQC, I'VE got the upper hand!" Big Boss earned OCELOT's respect for being able to CONSTANTLY beat him in CQC-like fights, BB was superior to Ocelot when Oce was YOUNG.
Yet Ocelot, OWNED Snake, hence further evidence of BB vs Snake.

BB wasnt that old, and like the boss old age didnt effect his combat ability, and BB didnt go easy on SS, they fought twice.. and the actual game creators said SS surpassed BB, its in MG Database.. SS did get better then BB, im not saying BB isnt awesome or that he isnt a superb soldier, cause he is, but SS did surpassed him.. Solidus body was in that shape to be a decoy and and his body parts where used to recover BB, and BB body was kept in perfect shape by the patriots, so he was in shape

Well maybe. But have you seen the bonus ending of MGS4? Big Boss with a majorily FOXDIE-weakened body. Apparently you didn't check out all of the database or the wiki, Big Boss was born in the 1930s, and up to about Metal Gear NES and 2 that makes him in his 60s (possibly 65) when he battled Snake BOTH of those times. And technically with the Solid series, plus the MGS4 timeline, around his 80s, biologically perhaps not as the exact percentage of his salvaged corpse still in place are never...

We still don't know how much of Liquid and Solidius actually WENT into Big Boss's creation, apparently not much considering his appearance is relatively accurate to how he originally looked (besides obvious aging, he even still has his eyepatch when Solidus and Liquid both had usable eyes).
They never said it was kept in PERFECT SHAPE, why else would they NEED Liquid and Solidus to reform him? Again, the body DECAYS after death, in the end BB is a frail senior with some moves.

Snake beat Liquid, yes, that was a bit of a fluke. Liquid may have had all of Big Boss's dominant genes but not the SUPERIOR ones that made him such an excellent soldier. Solidus can't really be judged, if anything he is technically better than Snake as you said yes, but he was supplied with an exoskeleton.
And even being a perfect clone, AGAIN, human flesh and bones DECAY over time. A LOT of time passed between MGS2 and 4, and 1, meaning big Boss's body should have been very frail.

@TotalHawk solid snake did not beat liquid....it was foxdie that killed liquid. If foxdie had not killed him, liquid would have shot solid snake to death after the car accident in shadow moses escaping mission. And solid snake did not even fight solidus...it was raiden who defeated him.

first, Solid Snake IS the legendary soldier, second, in the Metal Gear saga (not Metal Gear Solid) Solid Snakes does fight Big Boss and comes out the winner.. Big Boss is a amazing soldier and a legend but Solid Snakes is better, dont underestimate him just cause he is a clone...

This is all stupid reasoning. First of all, clone's degenerate faster than THE ORIGINAL, so yes, I will underestimate him. Second, Big Boss had more purpose, AND we get to see him in his prime. And third, Solid Snake fights BIG BOSS when BB is an OLD MAN, 50s or 60s I believe, and all THREE times (MG1, 2, AND 4) Big Boss gives him a RUN FOR HIS MONEY. In MGS4, he whooped him in CQC too.
If you like Snake, that's fine, but don't say he's superior in fighting ability.

Big Boss is the better CQC fighter, he shows FAR BETTER use of it in MGS3 than Snake until about MGS4, though Snake was fighting teenagers and I'm sure Big Boss could have done the SAME if not BETTER considering he proved himself against Snake in the ending. Big Boss's story was very tragic and meaningful, as was Snake's with the whole aging plot, so they both win there. Big Boss as a character showed more emotion, but Snake developed more from when we first knew him. BB's is yet to be finished.

Clearly you haven't played MGS The Twin Snakes. It's exactly like MGS but with better graphics. Did you even see anything that Solid Snake does? Or perhaps in MGS4, when he enters the Resistance hideout? The only reason CQC was so prominent in MGS3 is because that's where they decided to incorporate it into the game. Anytime you see Solid Snake using it before then, he is clearly superior.

i beg to differ, even though big boss developed CQC with the boss he would proberly know more about CQC than snake but snake has also trained in CQC and proberly got rusty and snake beat big boss twice, plus snake don't only know CQC he knows other hand to hand fight skills, and at the end of 4 even though his body is the same age as big boss snake's body was weaker due to his degeneration, it doesn't matter if big boss was 50 or not he was still just as good as he was when he was younger.

it doesnt matter what age big boss was at the time he was still just as good as he was when he was younger and ocelot was not much of a fighter in MGS snake eater, but look at MGS4, his skills were alot better than in MGS snake eater and he was older at least in his 80's so i just proves that the in metal gear solid i don't matter how old you are.

Okay, to begin with, FOXDIE doesn't effect his body, and doesn't make it deteriorate. It attacks the heart inducing a lethal heart attack. Liquid did possess all of the Superior Genes, and at no point is there anything denying that fact, so you're simply wrong there. Solid Snake defeated both of them using his own personal growth from the experiences he himself had had. Solid Snake had the body of an 80 year old in MGS4. Not a 50 or 60 year old like when he fought BB.

Solid Snake is better than Big Boss...He killed him twice. At the end of MGS4, Solid Snake had only one year left of life, of course he's not going to be very strong. Big Boss had received body parts from Liquid and Solidus,and Liquid was in his prime when he died. If they were both in their prime, Solid Snake would win.

I hate it when people use that excuse. He was an OLD MAN then and he STILL gave Snake a run for his money. Guess what else? Big Boss had a few MINUTES of life left when he fought Snake, not to mention his brain and body had been wasting away under Patriot control. Liquid's body most likely DECAYED between MGS1 and 4, it doesn't matter what prime he was at when he died if the biomatter decays over times, and Solidus was OBVIOUSLY not in his prime and used technology.

Ah dude, i didnt say that cause i like Solid Snake better, i wasnt joking, in the fist saga, the MG (Metal Gear) saga, NOT MGS (Metal Gear Solid) saga, MG saga is an older saga Solid Snake fought Big Boss twice, once in Outer Heaven and once in Zenzibarland, and both fights Solid Snake won the fight, if you dont belive me check it out your self, sorry to say it but Solid Snake is better, and thats not an opinion but actually a fact

Yeah, well until I get an accurate description or view of this so-called saga I can't take your words for anymore exaggeration or outright bullshit, I highly doubt it. Fact? Ha, well you know what, it was a FACT that Liquid Snake was genetically superior to Solid Snake, and yet Snake's willpower and determination overpowered Liquid's hatred for him and his physical ability. Facts can be just as twisted as lies, and as I said before, I think you've exaggerated what Kojima may have said.
