It's amazing that this was made in 2007 and is still valid today. This should be shown again, to a wider audience. There are a lot more soldiers that need this "thanks".

The maker of this footage assumes his audience is ignorant. the age of the dad and the year of his Mustang place him in the Vietnam war, mid to late 1960's - say, 45 years ago. If the father had a 4 year year Army contract, he likely entered in 1964 when he was 18-20 years old - that would place him at about 71 years old in 2011. The audience shouldn't have tears of happiness, but rather irriatation with an old geezer that waits until he's 71 to pass something of value on to his son...

My son is currently a Marine serving in afghanistan, we are a Ford family and I just ordered a 2011 Mustang for him. He wants it to be here waiting when he gets home. This commercial just gave me goose bumps....

@thefunkyt sorry, but cant argree with the quality, we had an F350 and it broke down on us in a VERY dangerous place when we were towing our boat out to Arizona. We've had a Tundra ever since, and it surpasses the Ford with flying colors. This is one of the best FORD American commercials I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO VIEW. Ford is worthy of a great nation namely the USA and a great legend, the FORD MUSTANG. In 1964, its launch was from coast to coast followed by & worldwide storm for FORD as the people of the world wanted to own & drive this car. I can still remember the hype and crescendo the Mustang had here in Australia.
The next great milestone was the Bullitt Mustang driven in the movie by the late great Steve McQueen. Stay proud America, look to the people who guard the walls so we ALL can buy and drive What we want by choice.

yeah.... i bought a 06 mustang gt before i deployed. When I got home, i traded it in on an 07 AWD fusion, because behind every good soldier is a better woman, and she deserved a good car. We have had nothing but problems with the fusion, and ford's response was "tough luck". Yeah, they're real supportive....

EVERYONE IS LATE to see their own family member just getting back from war??? It also felt backwards watching the younger brother rub the head of his older, war toughened brother. How about a message about hybrid cars with solar panel roofs and hoods that would actually use the sun to trickle charge, that's the real way to honor our soldiers, cut our DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. The current breed of hybrid cars rely on gasoline to generate their power and that is not the answer.
I know exactly how that Marine feels.. I've been over to the Persian Gulf twice, and multiple deployments to areas of the world where the US and US Military are at the good point tolerated to outright hatred. Thank you Ford, for welcoming US, the US Military members home, and the last deployment one of the things on my mind was my 2003 Mustang Cobra waiting for me when I got back..

This is one of the best FORD American commercials I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO VIEW. Ford is worthy of a great nation namely the USA and a great legend, the FORD MUSTANG. In 1964, its launch was from coast to coast followed by & worldwide storm for FORD as the people of the world wanted to own & drive this car. I can still remember the hype and crescendo the Mustang had here in Australia.

The next great milestone was the Bullitt Mustang driven in the movie by the late great Steve McQueen. Stay proud America, look to the people who guard the walls so we ALL can buy and drive What we want by choice.
The commercial sure blends in with the times & yes brings a tear to the old FORD driver. 5 *****

Good commercial, too patriotic for my taste, but good, but it is a clear sample of how marketing and the companies explode and handled the tragedies and suffering of others, it is unpleasant to me. I'm Mexican, 26 years old, and I have a 2006 GT, I dont disrespect FORD, they built excellent cars, but I'm get angry about handling of situations like this.

And wait let me guess you are probably thinking that the comment I made was bad. It is not, Why? They made this commercial purposely so that they would not mention how bad their car quality is and their bad performance and gas mileage.

yeah.... i bought a 06 mustang gt before i deployed. When I got home, i traded it in on an 07 AWD fusion, because behind every good soldier is a better woman, and she deserved a good car. We have had nothing but problems with the fusion, and ford's response was "tough luck". Yeah, they're real supportive....

EVERYONE IS LATE to see their own family member just getting back from war??? It also felt backwards watching the younger brother rub the head of his older, war toughened brother. How about a message about hybrid cars with solar panel roofs and hoods that would actually use the sun to trickle charge, that's the real way to honor our soldiers, cut our DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. The current breed of hybrid cars rely on gasoline to generate their power and that is not the answer.

I know exactly how that Marine feels.. I've been over to the Persian Gulf twice, and multiple deployments to areas of the world where the US and US Military are at the good point tolerated to outright hatred. Thank you Ford, for welcoming US, the US Military members home, and the last deployment one of the things on my mind was my 2003 Mustang Cobra waiting for me when I got back..
