  • I smiled...because I am also a parent of a 35 year old son with DS. Your beautiful sweet Little one's smile lights up the video. Give her a hug

  • She's ever so beautiful!:) this videos inspiring xox

  • This is wonderful!!! It inspired me to make a video of my own. Please check it out and share with your friends everyone! Down syndrome awareness: my sister Emily

  • this is beautiful. you're beautiful and so is your daughter. she is going to be a wonderful woman when she grows up all because of you :) be proud!

  • Thanks so much for sharing this, Maddox is absolutely lovely! I have a 9mth old with Down syndrome, and he is the last of 5 kids and the light of our lives! I realize it will take lots of work to achieve all that he is capable of, but I will not put limits on his abilities. I believe he is more than capable to do anything he sets his heart and mind to. Down Syndrome is something he has, not who he is!

  • GREAT Video, I think is so beautiful. God bless your girl! she's very adorable and smart and keeps a smile with her! God bless her!

  • Aww

  • This truly touched me, this is probably one of the most beautiful videos on youtube. That baby girl is gorgeous! My little sister has down syndrome and I am aware of the struggle with therapy and everything they have to go through and just... this video is amazing.

  • My son has downs too I made a video almost just like this it's down syndrome awareness Adams story. Your video made me want to get adams story out there thank you!!! I was 19 when I had him it was a shock when I found out I knew exactly how u felt

  • such delightful facial expressions, she was often upstaging the written notes. You go out there, little one, and show them!

    She's a wee cutie.

  • @pirannahs dude if you got your comment removed from this video, F**K YOU! you do not deserve to have a voice in the world. I truly believe that anyone who disrespects those that are different or less "perfect" than he/she does not deserve to have a say in how the world should work. crawl back under the rock from which you came.

P.S. this is drunken me, dont f**king dare going against sober me in a battle of wits.

  • @lightweight1792 First of all,I removed my own comment and wrote a new one,. I have much respect for people with disabilities. I happen to live with someone with down syndrome my whole life. So, instead of telling me your "drunk" why don't you think before you speak.I obviously have nothing against them.Another thing, your telling me that I judge? yeah, you just went off on me for being someone that I am NOT. Don't comment when your drunk, because you obviously don't understand, don't be stupid.

  • Maddox you're a beautiful little girl, and you got a great mother that will care of you, and you will meet tons of people, keep smiling!

  • @Fgper Her smile gets more precious every day, thank you.

  • Your little girl is so stinkin' cute!! My Olivia was born with down syndrome, and she will be 2 in May.

  • @smeemctyre Hi Olivia!

  • God has given you a great miracle. She is so precious and she is in good hands. Just eight months ago we got a miracle of our own. It is so important that people share and let people know to treat each other with respect no matter what the disability.

  • @Wer1happyfamily Congrats!!

  • I came across this video on Spread the Word to End the word fb page. Maddox made my night. She is such a beautiful girl. I am majoring in Special Education and it is my passion. This video inspired me to keep moving foreward

  • @hanecka00 Awww, thank you for what you do!

  • My psychology professor showed us this video today in class. This is by far one of the sweetest most beautiful things I've ever seen. I think what stands out the most here is the remarkable mother this child has been blessed with. And she is such a happy girl(with good reason ofcourse)!! I wish you guys nothing but the very best and greatest and I know Maddy will reach even greater heights! I am studying to become a nurse so one day I can work with children like her. Best of luck to you guys! <3

  • @peacockpirate Thank you, you will make a great nurse.

  • wow the love there

  • ----- Good Luck McClintic Family. May God be with you guys :)

  • I think who ever is disliking this video is dumb. This is a mother that has a a child that literally fought for her life from the very beginning. God has blessed her and EVERY OTHER child that is living on a day to day basis. Just cause you guys think she is making her child look like a "superstar" or extra special for the accomplishments she has done; you're dumb! Every child has this potential all you need is God and lots of patience. This mom is just showing her Joy and excitement. good luck

  • I love this video<3 I also have a brother with down syndrome. He is the love of my life<3 he is only a year and all the doctors said he wouldnt say momma or dadda till he was 2 he has already said both and he is only a year old. They said he wouldnt crawl till he was a year he started crawling before then. Your story is so inspirational.

  • she is sow cute!!! and momis the best. i to have a son with down syndrome he is the love of my life..:)

  • The Tears ♥ i'm touched. she is a beautiful little girl. She will change the world. I wish the best for Maddox and your family

  • @hugssnkissessxoxo Thank you!

  • Happy Birthday Maddox! My little girl (not so little now at 18) is changing lives too! She is a senior in "reg" high school!! Good luck and God bless!

  • Wow this is such an inspiration. This beautiful little girl can open so many people's eyes as to how amazing children with Down Syndrome are. Thank you for making this video for the world :)

  • @MissSpankk Thanks for sharing it with the world :)

  • You are an inspiration to everyone Maddox. You keep staying strong.

  • @lukemastrangeli Awww, I hope she does!

  • AWWE!!! @ 2:07 kissing her mommy! How sweet!

  • @the6reyes :o) Thanks.

  • Amazing video!! made me cry, Maddox is most likely to kepe surprising doctors who "know everything" just like my brother does. Most people don't understand how smart these kids are!! It' just about working hard, teaching and learning. My brother has Down syndrome, but he can do things like "normal kids" can't even do.. his dream is to become a songwriter and one day maybe he'll write his own song. He actually knows how to play guitarr and i can say that that's more than i can do!

  • @SaraNilsson878 Good grief, I don't know how to play the guitar either, way to go!

  • beautiful!!!!!

  • I could barely read the cards through the end because of the tears clouding my eyes. Thank you for this beautiful video!

  • @lrp287 Thanks, glad we touched your heart.

  • That was so adorable !! Cried during the whole thing, thank you for sharing :) She has a great mother!

  • @MakeupByLeeLee Her smile warms my heart too, thank you for commenting.

  • She is so cute:) I love and care for kids and families! I bet we can make diffrence too! :)

  • @cutelibs27 You can totally make a difference.

  • You should setup a donation account so that people who would like to assist you financially have that opportunity in doing so . If you already have one setuo then please post it somewhere in the top of video description . thx.

  • Hey! This is amazing and you have the most adorable little girl!!!! My niece is down syndrome and she's so much more advanced then all the doctors said she would...they are gifts from god and are absolutely amazing!!!!! And I hope that more people will watch this and understand that those words hurt more then one person...they take a affect on the child and the family! Thank you for the amazing video!!

  • What a GREAT video!! I am in college to become a teacher for children with developmental disabilities. What a great blessing she must be in your life. I know sometimes it is very hard but you will prevail!! People can be mean and cruel but one thing we have to remember is that those of us that can/are willing to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves, MUST! I understand that not every person with Downs can't stand up for themselves but my point is to stand up for those that cant.

  • @sisofaMarine11 Loving it! Thanks.

  • So cute! But also very touching, u have a beautiful daughter

  • I pledge, Maddox, to be a DS ambassador in your name. I hope to see more videos of you in the future. All I feel is love watching you. :) Thank you for making this video mom. :)

  • @MonctonvsTexas Love it!

  • Thank you for the video post, you gals are beautiful!

  • @ukleintele Thank you for the compliment!

  • Your both beautiful! I wish you both the best in life. Greetings from Norway :)

  • Your both beautiful! I wish you both the best in life. Greetings from Norway :)

  • Maddox is beautiful! And how fortunate she is to have a Mom like you...you can see the pride you have in what she's accomplished already. There will always be those who are to uneducated...stupid, really...to fully understand the joy these children bring to all our lives.

    Bless you both!

  • Thank you for sharing<3 so adorable! I gave many bestfriends... but my closest has down syndrom.. shes an angel with many dreams, just like Maddox. <3

  • @Regangirlful Awww, so sweet.

  • this video is amazing! would you and maddox be interested in being involved in a web series about parents with special needs children? i work for a production company and we are casting for families right now and we came across your video and think you and maddox would be great! she is absolutely ADORABLE!

  • She's gorgeous :)

  • i could not stop smiling i immediatly sent it to tuns of people.. i cant even begin imagine how strong you will be..how strong you are!

sweetheart don't ever let anyone tell you you are different because your not! if anything you are above all "normal" kids... your so much stronger than many people could ever be

what is normal anyways?... exactly God makes everyone the way they are for a reason and your beautiful life and story has just helped thousands!

  • @RIPdragonfly and only at the age of 2!

  • my comment was @ superunregistereduser

  • u are an ignoramos! And its folks like you that keep the ignorance ,hatred And discrimination going . people w/ Downs syndrome are fearfully And wonderfully made by God. so how do people with Downs anger GOD ,when he is the one who nade their genes? you are just trying to get arise out of people And need to just sit doen And shut up ! I have a child w/ Downs she is not a retard , mongoloid ,or dumb , She is a wonderful And uniquely made by God . May God have mercy on you mislead soul !

  • @MrsAnimoo amen!!!

  • @RIPdragonfly Thanks :)

  • Shes ADORABLE.!

  • Thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter with everyone. I have always been a big believer is accepting differences. I am happy you are beating the odds and know Maddox will reach all her goals, because she has a loving family surrounding her, great training available to her, and a community of people that are rooting for her thanks to this video. She is so cute, I want to reach out and hug her.

  • I love this video . Maddox is such a beautifol little girl. I have 3 year old with down syndrome who has beaten the odds . Thank GOD that when the drs says no GOD is the one who has the finale say so . May God continue to bless you and your beautiful little angel . keep beating those odds Maddox because you can do what ever you set your mind to do !

  • THE DOWN SYNDROME CREED My face may be different But my feelings the same I laugh and I cry And take pride in my gains I was sent here among you To teach you to love As God in the heavens Looks down from above To him I am no different His love knows no bounds It's those here among you In cities and towns That judge me by standards That man hs imparted But this family I've chosen Will help me get started For I'm one of the children So special and few That came here to learn
  • The same lesson as you

    That love is acceptance

    It comes from the heart

We all have the same purpose

    Though not from the start

    The Lord gave me life

    To live and embrace

And I'll do it as you do

    But at my own pace

    -author unknown

  • I love this so much. I appreciate this video & I wish your sweet darling the best. I am very involved in friendships with kids at school who have down syndrome, autism, or any other developmental disability. I love it. 3

  • She had all these difficulties early on in life, you have this self righteous feeling of being a better person. Just cause she is different doesn't mean you have to point all this out on a YOUTUBE video. I'm glad she's alive, I'm glad she eat the odds, but there is no need to broadcast this to the world.

People say mean tings about people everyday, it's up to your daughter to brush it off like nothing. And you telling her everyday that she's special, isn't going to help her.

  • @178mattr I believe children like this sometimes have low self esteem because they know they are not the same. Letting them know they are special by their parents is not a crime and you are making this video sound 'bad', when it's not. Nothing is wrong with making someone feel special, even if 'they aren't' according to you. Have a heart because this post feels a bit heartless, not realistic. The reality is, nothing is wrong with praising someone.

  • @FadetoOctober So if I posted a similar video of me holding up cards in front of my three month year old I would get the same praise as this? Even though he had no major complications? Don't get me wrong, I love that this little girl has made it through life thus far, and I have confidence she is as smart as the next child. But should this woman have put the card the said, "most 2 year old children can't do what she does". (Talking about sign language) I just don't get it I guess.

  • @178mattr she is trying to prove to the world that there is no difference between her daughter and "every other kid"

and why don't you post a video and find out instead of judging a mother who is trying to pass the love on... and trying to educate society for her daughter to have a better life... it was no to bash anyone it was to PROVE her daughter is just like everyone else.. and deserves every opportunity that everyone else has

  • @178mattr ..... I agree with you. As a RN and Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP) it was our job to teach them to not be "special" and to blend into society and not be singled out. So much ignorance about folks with a mental disability still remains as evidenced by these many responses. Its when the awareness stops is when these folks can be viewed just like you and me.

  • @ashton75150 Could you please clarify: What does it take to become a Professional (QMRP). I maybe interested in getting a degree in QMRP. I would like to bring awareness and educate people around the world who are ignorant! Thank-you in advance for the information.

  • @bootery23 Hi there.

For having a designation as a QMPR a person has to have a least a bachelors degree in a related field...ie Nursing, counseling, psych, social worker and have x amount of experience working with developmental disabilities. In Texas I believe its 7 to 10 years but is variable.

  • @FadetoOctober The reason " children like this" have low self esteem or " too high self esteem" is because of they have been treated as "special". Folks with a low IQ and that what this is all about just learn at a slower rate. That's all. I dream for a day when there is NO talk of folks with mental or physical disabilities.

  • @178mattr You a very wise. When the " awareness" stops is when these folks can thank us for leaving them alone and letting them live just like you and I.

    Thanks A RN and QMRP

  • I don't mean to down play this video, but an old tv show comes to mind when I watched this. The TV show is "Saved by the Bell". (some of you younger people may not know of this show.) But a certain episode comes to mind, titled "Teen Line." (look it up, I can't post links)

What I'm saying is, just because she is different, doesn't mean you have to treat her different. She, I'm sure sees herself as a perfectly capable person, as well she should, because well she is. But it seems that because

  • A comment from Teagan,Triston, and Torrin and we have a baby sister with Down Syndrome. She is 5 years old.She is a wonderful blessing to our family and she is adorable. She loves to talk. She loves us and we love her too.We love having a baby sister with Down Syndrome. Her name is Tashtyn but she likes to be called Tashy. As a older sister or brother it is a joyful time to play with her.We try to stop people from calling her names like the horrible "R" word.Thank you for the AWESOME video.

  • I have a little girl with Williams Syndrome who will be 2 in February. Your video, your words, and that beautiful little girl of yours hit home. She is lucky to have a mother dedicated to helping her reach her true potential. Layla renews my faith in her over and over again. Everyone should be so lucky to have children like ours, who can teach us the meaning of true unconditional love and happiness. Thank you

  • What a sweetie :) God bless you Maddox!

  • Children with Down Syndrome are a blessing and if you are lucky enough to have loved one, you surely know that. As an Early Intervention teacher, nothing makes my heart happier than to see children and their families shattering stereotypes and shooting for the stars like all other families! No BET needed, Maddox will reach her goals!

  • what an amazing video&beautiful little girl:) i will definitely be showing this at my high school this year during our spread the word to end the word campaign that i started!

  • One idiot had the audacity to say Down's kids were not human because they had an extra chromosome! My son lives, loves and laughs. He hurts, he bleeds and he cries. He learns, and teaches. Holds down a job, brings smiles to many faces, has a great sense of humor and doesn't judge. He has untold accomplishments, with the Special Olympians, has met many celebrities and is cherished by ALL his family and friends! He is a human being, and a beautiful one at that!

  • You're both beautiful and very lucky to have each other! Maddox is going to work harder than her peers for many things, and she will succeed at many things because of her supportive loving parents!

  • She beat the odds getting such a loving supportive family! Thanks for sharing your message of hope and inspiration.

  • I love her smile! I can only imagine that sweetie has lots of personality!

Well done for what you're doing, im sure the many sufferers out there would thank you for raising this awareness :D xxxx

  • Beautiful video! Don't forget that little Maddox can dance and do gymnastics! Look into Recreational Therapy as a way to get her therapy through play!! She is a beautiful girl who is capable of many things in the years to come.

  • Simply beautiful. Rest assured that all of us at Best Buddies International are committed to creating a more positive and inclusive future for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through our programs.

  • @bestbuddies Thank you for sharing this video and being committed!

  • Thank you for your video. You gave a voice to all of our children that have DS. My daughter, Kara, is 16 months old with DS. I've realized she will spend her whole life teaching me where more than I can ever teach her. God will make me and the world around us a different place through her. He already has!

  • @ctram33 Love it, thanks!

  • @jdbchrist "it" is no way to refer to a 2 year old human being. and if you took the time to watch the video, you might rethink your use of the word "retarded". she's a little girl.

  • i admire you , you're clearly a very loving mother and i understand it must be hard at times. Everyone is backing Maddox to beat every obsticle that comes in her path and do great things. I wish you the very best of luck and a prosperous life xx

  • @smokie2069 That means so much, we appreciate it!

  • @smokie2069 Thank you!

  • Hey...someone shared this video...and you and your amazing daughter melted my heart...partly because I grew up with a Down Syndrome brother...one of the most important lesson I learned from him was being patient and gentle...I usually credit this to my beloved brother whenever I was praised for having a huge capacity of patience...I'm still learning to be gentle...and I was glad to be able to share the Gospel with him recently...he accepted it freely...I love him so much!

  • You Are Blessed!

  • Miss Maddox, you make my heart smile! We have an extra chromie at our house too. Who also has a gambling problem. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
