Here's a question for ya: Of, say, the top 10 players of all time in the steel-shaft era--Hogan, Snead, Nelson, Palmer, Nicklaus, and Woods come to mind immediately, along with guys like Watson, Trevino, Casper, Faldo, Thomson, et al.--how many of them had "smooth" swings?

comes out of it? not with that balance, coming out of it; see: Arnold Palmer. This guy does have a handsy swing, he releases his right hand hard after making impact with the ball. And his lower body is quiet on the backswing but he clears his hips very quickly before impact giving him great club head speed.
