How can I make aburaage from scratch? and what is the difference between american mayo and japanese mayo?? i see they put it on everything. is it sweeter or does it have a more savory flavor to it? And finally where can I get japanese mayo?? can I buy it on the internet?? thanx!! sorry for so many questions ;D
@shirophoenix1 You can order japanese mayo on some websites, I think the Asian Food Grocer website carries it. Also, if you live anywhere near an asian market, they might have it; my local one usually has Kewpie Mayo.
Does anyone know where this kind of bean curd can be found in the U.S.? I can't find it in the normal grocery stores. I haven't tried an Asian food store yet, but assuming they might have it there?
I used to go to Mitsuwa market (that sells Japanese food) in LA...and got them. Also, I assume Chinese market might have them.... i heard Mitsuwa market is in San Diego, LA, and Chicago...

新鮮な油揚げなら、さっと焼いて生醤油に生姜。万能つゆ?なんて全く必要なし。
