Not all claws are programmed to pick up like that. Some other claws are not programmed by how much is put in.. I would say from what claw machine's I've played, about 20% of the time, they're rigged or they have to have a certain amount of money put in. Haven't really had to deal with it yet though surprisingly :) Plus... that's a shitty machine. Where was this anyways?

That's the harsh truth mate, them machines are a waste of time. I however would put £2 on a prize every time machine as you play until you win. I know the trick to these normal machines. The yellow box at the top of the crane tightens the crane up with the more money is put in. So I suggest trying to win after someone has put like £70/ £80 in LOL. :)
