@frankiev1231 lol i cant afford a les paul mate. I got this guitar for £10 as it was damaged. I repaired it, put some EMG pickups in it and had it set up properly. Its one of my fave guitars now. Really love the neck shape, fits my hand nicely. With the EMG's fitted she's pretty much the same as any LTD or other mid-priced guitar out there. Just for a fraction of the cost :)

In my experience, the clear will orange peel more if you apply too much in one coat and/or the finish dries too fast - that is before it lays out flat. You may have to check the viscosity of the finish material and thin and/or retard it.

you can get a buffer with a buffer with a soft bottom or i very very gently do a quick run on 1000 and finnish it with a run with 3 fingers on 2000 and use warm soapy water you should feel and hear the surface change. oh and your artwork is awsome pal.

@berzerker17487 Thanks mate, that airbrush is a Harder & Steenbeck "Infinity" and it has a 0.15 needle/nozzle setup installed ;)

@kingofskate08 Depends on who is doing the painting mate. Different people have different rates. If you were to ship it to me to be done the shipping/insurance alone is going to add £200 to the quote so it would be far cheaper for you to find a local airbrush guy to do it for you ;)

try varying the air pressure on your clear gun, too much will partially dry it as it hits causing the clear to stack up

It depends on what im doing. For large areas i use an Iwata HP-CH with a 0.3 needle and for the fine detail stuff i use a Harder & Steenbeck Infinity with a 0.15 needle/nozzle setup installed.

Hi mate, im just using a scalpel for this one and doing it by hand. I do own a plotter for stencils and lettering but for this kind of thing its quicker by hand.

I am having toruble with the same thing, clear coating my stuff, I painted my mp3 players and look good, but can't get the right results with the clear coat, you are GOOD!

Clearing skills come with practice mate. I havent had much practice and i also use a horrible £10 spray gun which doesnt help. Im saving up for a Devilbiss GTI or something like that so i can lay the clear as smooth as possible while its wet :)

... a few hours working on Jessica Alba's body.... My heart bleeds for you mate! It's looking really good so far. Sanding through the colour is always a pain. I once had to re-do the clear coat five times because of sand-throughs in different places. We've all done it. ;-)
