  • Irish people work too hard and are too trusting of the government.

  • Someday i'll visit the great city that is New York. Someday.

  • As an Irish person, other Irish people annoy me criticizing Americans for identifying with their past and their history; our history! The Americans have helped us (despite the wrong the American government may have inflicted on other nations) in terms of achieving independence and the Peace Process in the North.

    Give it a rest!

  • why do the yanks always claim to be something their not? like irish american, african american ect if you were born and raised in america you are american, it doesnt matter where all your family come from. if i said that i'd be a english, irish, scottish, welsh nigger! Thank you and good night

  • americans please stop this pretending to be irish nonsense, its so fucking cringeworthy and transparent.

  • The eastern europeans have it good over there, its not about survival its about greed.

  • The negative comments about this film display complete ignorance of some reasons why people immigrate to America. If it were up to these folks, peoples opinions of it would have to be cleared with them first. They should be thankful people have a right to be wrong.

  • so youre irish but on your page you say that youre from the usa ?? american / irish, plastic pady

  • fuck the brits their was inuf food in ireland to feed 18 million people in black 47

  • @Quentin0000000000 agree fuck the english

  • This sounds good, thanks for the video share WolfArden44.

  • Wow...I found a gem tonight!!

thank you for sharing a glimpse into this documentary....it seems as though it would be something I'd love to watch in full-length.

I never tire of the immigrants stories of the mid-1800's through the first 30 years of the 1900's. Lots of rich and powerful stories are there for the taking. Again, thank you!

  • haha, upper class irish in the 1900's are you sure, those were the ones who had no reason to leave it seems impossible that they left

  • The irony is that the Irish were treated with the same disgust and hate that you're spouting against Mexicans. I guess it's easy to think people who aren't like you are subhuman, that way you can feel better about your own hateful soul.

  • im so damn proud to be Irish. I have a poetic mind. I have a wicked personality. i thank god every day for giving me this Celtic blood. we are the cream of europe, and that includes our prodestant up north also. haha up the hun! up the times!

  • The irish are probably the nearest of all races to resemble the jew diaspora, they've been forced to spread around the world. Many have worked hard in america and become successful in american coorporations.

  • What a beautiful fim--the music, the narrative and the visual--very moving. Who is the filmmaker and the narrator? He has a future.

  • True story. Did you know that most Irish immigrants did NOT enter America through Ellis Island? Castle Gardens in the Battery (the southern tip of Manhattan) was where most Irish ( and others, of course) entered the country. Ellis Island was only opened in 1892, when most Irish were already in... true story.

  • thats funny

  • This looks very interesting! I'd love to see it on TV here too!

  • i dont know if ya want to cahnge it but its malachy not malachai

  • my own ancestors on both sides of my blood came through ellis island, to live here in new york. and we're still here. any one who visits new york ought to visit ellis island, if not for you or your family, then for this country, we are a nation of immigrants.

  • This will be playing in London in July at Riverside Studios

  • lol,right on

  • wonderful music ! eric satie..

    fine movie !!

  • fascinating should be a great documentary probably see it on here before I ever get it in New Zealand....grrrr

  • Being an Alfred Molina fan, I'd love to see this some day.
