  • Tawni Balfour...

  • holy cow i remember i remember, this tune burnt into my head, i played so much with this game

  • there was a turkish composer roughly 160 years ago who made a music about a chechen girl, listen here to it, this music has its original from there.

    its ottoman music.

    watch?v=bBzml_723Mw

  • Love this track, especially in The Twelve Kingdoms anime. Twelve Kingdoms version is slightly better than this one, but it's still great.

  • Hi. Just for the sake of 'credit where credit is due'. Paul Anthony Romero did the arrangement of this song, not composition (i.e: he took an original work and used it to make this one).

This song has been used several times, under various arrangements. The original composer is Yuri Poteenko if I'm not mistaken.

    Cyas! :)

  • @rafanavega That's unlikely considering Pirates of the Caribbean, the game where Yuri Poteyenko's arrangement of the song is found, was released a full year after Heroes 4. Heroes 4 also precedes Twelve Kingdoms, the anime where another arrangement of this song is found.

  • @fortyblinks Do you know the name of the official composer? Maybe it's one of those folklore songs like "GreenSleeves" that don't have an official composer.

  • @rafanavega Possibly. I haven't been able to find anything, though. As far as I know, Paul Anthony Romero may be the original composer.

  • Painting is incredible, music is absolutely fantastic.

  • @Mcsqueaky Get a life- no one needs your sour disposition.

  • @keeperoftheforest Or just do it anyway. Who gives a fuck about likes? I voted down by the way, just to piss you off.

  • omg, this is AWSOME

  • RIP 3DO.. :-(( last great game

  • This is simply of the most beautiful videogame soundtrack ever composed! Man, I swear I have to play this with my one of my best friends over hamachi! (After HoMM III of course.)

  • ta piosenka jest po prostu piękna.

  • U can hear this when u came in to tavern in Pirates of The Carribean game ;)

  • Epic.

  • In my opinion HOMM IV have the best music of whole series, and this masterpiece is a proof of that.

  • @TraianusMaster That's your opinion. This is a very good tune, and lot's of other songs are good in IV - However, the third installment is, as always, slightly better *Grin and pokes*

  • I think the music in 4 is good even though a lot of people dont like the game's gameplay. Maybe I like it though because im Irish/Scottish and its just me o.O

  • This song have driven me to tears many times, also other soundtracks from this game. It's insane...

  • Wow seriously. This is track is celestial. I love the 0:16 part specially the background instruments. this song is really a masterpiece, you should listen this while you on an airplane or on a ship of course.

  • @MrBrainFucker19

Hey bro I want in too!!!! lol

  • This song was also in the Pirates of the Carribean roleplaying game (Bethesda), can be found in the sounds folder named "town exploration"

  • о_О a very similar composition is in the folder of game ZanZarah: The Hidden Portal, by the name of "Test_music", it sounds quite identical with some small differences....

  • loved the game but i cant install it on my windows 7...

i want to play it sooooooooo badly.

  • if the musicians of Titanic played this song on board, the ship wouldnt sink, it would just float on air.

  • Oh ... it reminds how wonderful Tawni Balfour campaign's were. H4 soundtrack was incredibly enchanting.

  • Piękne!!!

  • @MrBrainFucker19 aha .. wait until your boat breaks down and you will be paying arm and a leg for repars.. I kow that cause i had 2 boats

  • what the flute playing in this song? Irish or not Irish? thanks.

  • this is the most charming thing i have listened to... zeppelin, radiohead, iron maiden, dream theater, pink floyd, beatles... imagine all the great bands you have listened to so far... can you compare it with this music?

this is a simple, straightforward proof that music is universal and magical!

  • @gadabidipatisan You are so right, my friend. Nothing compares to this.

  • @gadabidipatisan Your right,

  • @gadabidipatisan Agreed with that. I'm glad there are people tasting in good music, like games/movies soundtrack, metal, rock, reggae, jazz, blues everything decent. Keep it going :).

  • Why you say it copied from? Mine CD was published in 2002. Where were the disney fairis at that time?

  • sounds like he copied it from disney faireys nah dough this is beutiful im acting like the captian of the titanic on roblox check it out my name is Glamorousnoob9 i even join a fan club of titanicbehind this number is my favorite part: 2:17

  • sounds like he copied it from disney faireys nah dough this is beutiful im acting like the captian of the titanic on roblox check it out my name is Glamorousnoob9 i even join a fan club of titanic

  • @MrBrainFucker19 i got the same idea when i heard this song...:D that would be something man!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBrainFucker19 Best comment and goal EVER!!!

  • one of the incredibles, lad

  • do people still place this game?

  • @RunescapeZkid I do!

  • Dear Paul Anthony Romero, ! you already reached a aim , someone would struggle his whole life for! my biggest respect to you ! from a person, who wasnt industrious for such a long time

  • Tawni Balfour's theme

  • Search for "Pirates of the Caribbean PC Game Music 28" and you will hear it

  • It sounds like one old russian computer game doesn`t it? Strange.

  • This track was composed by the same people who did the HoMaM V soundtrack o.O, but this have that "sword and sandal" fell while the V OST sounded like your generic orchestra most other medival games has :P

  • is there any soundtrack?

  • Best part of Heroes

  • HOMM IV - I play it 10 years!!!!

  • @aztaclalz uh, no.. I don't think anyone gets it...

  • @WyldOrbit That's because you're a FFA-fanboy :P

  • @aztaclalz Wrong again buddy. lol

  • @WyldOrbit Nope - You're just too much of a coward to admit it. Which is cool, I don't judge. Some people dig weird-eyes, some don't. You're fine.

  • @aztaclalz When i see weird-eyes, i usually dig them, but i can seldom find a shovel small enough...

  • @WyldOrbit can't* fixed it for you. <3

  • @aztaclalz Actually, no. That would be an error. LoL

  • watch?v=hHcrkxQ0Cks

    Really don't understand.

HOMM IV have been released 28.03.2002, and the Twelve Kindoms - 09.04.2002.

    So what is the original?

  • Romero and Hans Zimmer - The best. Final Fanstasy is nice but a lil' too 'attempt at being epic' and missing out on the passion. IMO <--- IMO. Get it? IMO, lol :P

  • This music relaxes me so much. Romero is really the king of videogame music. Hes like the John williams of gaming

  • @iffar321 in my humble opinion, you're half right - he definitely shares a throne with Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) :)

  • Romero's the shit, I wish they would use him for all the epic strategy games out there.

  • прелепа мисао склопљена у склад тонова и дато људима да уживају

  • nice

  • I just came. Four times in a row.

  • You're not spamming, Homies.

  • The description should say;

"Sea theme Stolen by Paul Anthony Romero"

Don't believe me? Listen for yourself

    /watch?v=hHcrkxQ0Cks&feature=related

  • @Funkyflorist Stolen? You mean Juuni Kokki has also "stolen" it?-because he only rearranged it as P.A. Romero did(same song was used in "Pirates of Carribean and "Seadogs" too).

  • @Funkyflorist You've got a lot to learn when it comes to being a composer, friend. Face it, you know nothing about it.

  • @aztaclalz

It probably won't take long... All I need to do is pull some 500 year old compositions and then mod them a bit so they are 'unique'...

    Get a life kid.

  • @Funkyflorist A "kid" - You must be 16-17 then I presume, and maybe from the US, because you can't handle criticism, gotcha. It's not called stealing, you really need to learn a thing or two when it comes to composing. I am just saying, you're very bad at...Well, this - haha. Give it a rest, champ. You did your best.

  • @aztaclalz

    Trolololol somewhere else... kid.

  • @aztaclalz

Ad Hominem remarks? Its not just the Chord Progression, hell they just copy pasted the notes, you do realize that composers working in the industry have time tables to adhere to? No doubt they didn't have the time or inclination to **CREATE** an original piece so he ADMITTED to using old music.

    This isn't the only piece either;

    /watch?v=sV2aYWTthAQ&feature=related

    compare that to;

    /watch?v=I-gnjMemqdE

    GG

  • @aztaclalz

    I'm not your 'friend' buddy!

  • @Funkyflorist I'm not your buddy, pal.

  • @Funkyflorist You are wrong! Why? Here is the proof: One youtube user asked Romero himself, about this theme. Where did he get this. Romero answered him.

    /watch?v=AzbzxyJo9RA

You will find the question and the answer in the info box below the video, posted by the uploader!!!

  • @tvastar

hmm... Actually I was right... If he took the main melody from a 500 year old source... then its still 'plagiarism'...

Albeit he didn't steal it from 'Junni Kokki' but from some 500 year old songs...

  • @Funkyflorist They have slight variances I think what your hearing is chord progression same as why most heavy metal songs sound alike of course you can't copyright double bass peddling as well as chord progression.

  • @HSCUK

Oh rly? You can't copyright chord progressions? K thx!

**Goes off to play Joe Satriani, while dangling Vanilla Ice off a balcony**

  • @Funkyflorist Did you not see where I said they have slight variances? Meaning I can recreate any character from this game and put a star on his forehead and no one can say its been infringed upon.

  • @HSCUK

We're not talking about characters... We're talking about the music... Did you not see where I cited other music pieces that follow SECOND BY SECOND the same melody, tune, tempo, and even VOCAL integration....

As for 'characters' You need to change ALOT more than 'adding a star' to their head. Copyright laws are clear on this, you'd have to hire a North Korea studio to rip off another anime...

  • @HSCUK

Did you just ignore the comparison with Joe Satriani? Maybe you should read up on the precedents in actual trial courts and cases...

**Keeps dangling Vanilla Ice off a balcony**

  • There's plagiarism going on somewhere, this music is either stolen from or taken by the anime producers of Junni Kokki (12 kingdoms).

  • Can't really comprehend how ANYONE is able to dislike this music! SICK!

  • This reminds me of an Irish folk music O_o

  • @alexganger especially the storyline... very intricate and detailed

  • 8 people were rapded by pirates. xD

  • @furyofnorth i did manage to beat The Pirate's Daughter with the hardest difficulty to obtain the black dragon ranking and i find it easier to beat than playing other difficulty.

but the other faction i cannot get the black dragon ranking even i play in champion.

the only faction i never beat in champion mode is undead. i hate the champaign. very very very much!

  • This isn't really composed by Paul, it's rearranged by him. This is actually a very old folk song which has been arranged by many artists. Pirates of the Caribbean had a version of it, a game named Sea Dogs 2 had one, the anime Twelve Kingdoms used one as the theme song, and finally, there's Paul's one.

Honestly though, Paul's is the best among them. See the video #AzbzxyJo9RA for more info

  • I love all the tracks, but more sea theme and dirt. :-)

  • my favourite heroes 4 track

  • hep2875 was right actually. This and the dirt theme were not composed by Paul, I don't think it is known who did, since these melodies came from sample packs.

But Paul Anthony Romero did arrange these two. IMHO best arrangement of all!

  • It's Beatiful beautiful... I love the game, but the music more. :D :}-

  • heroes IV might be rated the worst of all heroes but the music is so f***ing epic.

it feels so heroes its .... my mind exploded to find a wort for it

  • @xDrUmSt1X You haven't played the campagns, have you?

Play them, and then say that it's the worst again ;)

  • @xDrUmSt1X Even if it's the worst game of the serie, everybody with a positive IQ agree that it's a five stars game. :)

  • @alexganger true, i only meant that many ratet it the worst one but i dont agree

  • Has anyone beat The Pirate's daughter on Champion level without cheat?

  • @FuryOFNorth No, have you? It's damn good player who done it!

  • Kinda Tawni Balfour music:)

  • @xxlCortez It was a damn hard campaign wasn't it?

  • @MrAlper02 Just the first level. Since the beginning I was suspected that Pete will turn on me, so I only improved Tawni's skills with the consumable +6 atk, def, magic stuff. After the 2nd level, I was able the beat almost all enemies only with heroes.

  • @xxlCortez Me too when i had grandmaster stealth and chaos magic but the last level was kinda hard because you had to be in 2 places atthe same time. the first level was easy.

  • *Ear erection*

  • Like this, if you can't be away from pressing the replay button.

  • in my opinion HOMM 4 has the best music

  • i have no words except for one, EPIC!

  • Watch out for those Sea Monsters!

  • In the Japanese cartoon series "The Twelve Kingdoms", they used a music track very similar to this. Did 3DO copy them or they copy 3DO?

  • @go7school it's an old Celtic tune, it's been reused by a number of modern composers, including Paul Romero. It's the case of a multiple people ripping off an old piece rather than copying each other ;)

  • Hehe, this music is in the first Pirates of the Caribbean game too... When you're in the tavern to hire a new crew.... Brilliant!

  • this song goes in the tavern of the sea dogs game 2

  • In my opinion, Heroes IV has most beautiful soundtrack in history of videogames. In the game player listens opera, saxhopone solos, orchestral music.... It´s amazing mixture and each part sounds great. I love it.

  • @jedloun i fell the same...

  • @jedloun

i like the heroes 2 and 3 soundtracks a bit more than this one, but i agree with you, that its also a really great soundtrack!

  • It's just Magical Music.... the music of a Fairytale, with all its magic and beauty in it.

  • @Hyalyago no it isnt, its a song of the sea, you yearn to be on a boat and go out in the open sea and to journey where fate brings you to.

  • You watch "The Lord Of The Rings" and this song fits perfectly. That's what I mean about magic.

  • too much dusha!

  • wow this song...i didnt play much HoMM past part 3 coz i didnt like it much for me time stopped at HoMM3 but this song...i dont even remember it from HoMM but i cant stop listening it now ;) very nice...Heroes of Might and Magic only by 3DO!u can agree with me or not ,Ur choice.

  • best for listening during summer holiday

  • One of best theme to listen in summertime :D

@Zennol Yep, I have same feeling as You ;]

  • It makes me feel about some kind of a land of happiness, Utopia... :)

  • Sea Dogs 2 Tavern theme !!

  • @Thermalfusi0n Yes, is it! I heard it three years ago... now i know, where :)

  • @Matix3344 Yes ! A truely beautiful game ! :) Both this and Sea Dogs 2

  • MTV: Music Tone Violence .... all Music fans ... this Song is the best if not ... go to hell, cause i have 1000 angels from life =P

  • Now I'm interested in playing HeroesIV

  • Never liked HOMM 4 but this is great music. This is the kind of thing we should have seen in versions 5 and in the upcoming 6 but probably won't happen.

Did anyone realize that you can change the music by going into your computer and changing the mp3 in the Heroes file? The best thing to do is change the battle music to Nightwish "Wishmaster"

  • @MeredithWaters Not sure if Paul composed the music for Heroes V, but he has composed the music for Heroes VI

  • @MeredithWaters yes, that's true, because 3DO company is "died". . .after HOMM 4, ubisoft show music

  • 7 people are deaf and dont know it

  • Great tune, I want to hear it before my death!

  • This is Sea Theme from heroes 4

  • ...this song is in the anime 12 kingdoms called fuushun..

  • @YALMOUL They might have just borrowed it. I know other TV shows used sound clips also found in Heroes 3 like South Park and Ned's Declassified. I would say this song came out in this game first, with the other sound clips I have no idea where they came from.

  • if i just could combine HoMM III or V with music from IV :)

  • jiojiok]op

  • What the... ...this and the tavern theme from PotC the video game is the same! This can't be right. It's the exactly same song, I swear it!

  • This sound like one of Irish songs....

  • i made a real nice beat with this sample search for "Cookie Beats - Schwarzes Herz Instrumental"

  • Do you know why pirates are awesome?

    Because ther ARRR :D

  • This and the one from the PotC xbox game is VERY alike!

  • tawni balfour :)

  • This is from Sea dogs 2, not this game.

  • @Matakshaman It's an old celtic/irish folk song. It was also used in sea dogs 2.

  • this is sooooooooooooooo taken from Juuni Kokki x.X so sad...

  • @TomaszInn WTF are you talking about ?

bad game ? heroes 4 is one of the greatest games in history, same with heroes 3

  • @dragannnnnn i think so too...but i think heroes 2 is unbeaten ;-)

  • @dragannnnnn Beter then 3, funnier fight and a game that require skill, we dont always have all the map like in 3

The only thing which is less good is graphic did u see how nagas turns like ....

  • Heroes 4 complete right now is available from gog.com

  • nostalgia is streaming through my whole body while I'm listening to this

    thank you for sharing this

  • 5 people were raped by pirates.

  • @leeboy26 3 more hypnotized by merfolk

  • @leeboy26 8 bro, 8....

  • anyone recognizes Fairy Tail's anime soundtrack in this track?:)

  • Good song. Did you get the picture from the game?

  • @MyFrostee maybe I should have, but I didn't 8'(

  • I want adventure! Yarghhh!

  • @hep2875 If not the by who then? Paul himself claimed so. It wasn't my idea to add that info into the description. And as far as I know... most of the soundtracks in heroes of might and magic 4 were composed by Paul. But if that's not true then who do you think composed this?

  • Comment removed

  • @alluurpo Paul Romero sampled this old song and orchestrated it with various instruments. Apparently game companies give these game composers catalogs with old music, some even up to 500 years old (Old rock n' roll riffsah!), and they change the tempo and the instruments sometimes to suit the mood of the given situation. It might be an old Celtic song, read it somewhere on the web, even Paul doesn't know where it comes from. Anyway, let me know if you dig any more info on this heavenly piece :)

  • @alluurpo It's an old Irish folksong which Paul remastered. It's also present in the game Sea Dogs 2. Paul himself claimed so.

  • @alluurpo

Paul arranged this, he did not compose it. Due to limited time he and Rob took samples from a sample package.

Dirt theme was also made with those samples. Anyhow these are best arrangements.
