  • SPAR LIKE YOU MEAN IT THIS TIME!

Gotta love it :P Tang Soo

  • oh yeah i love the little girl fighting on the right..LOL if she was faster and did leave her hand out so much she would own that dude.

  • i like tangsoodo because its simple and is great cardio. i really dont care if its good or bad for street fighting since my last real fight was 20 years ago. I also like the kicks so tangsoodo or taekwondo is good enough for me.

  • @krzintegraboi

    Great cardio? Yes. Simple? No!

I still manage to get into a few scuffles. The techniques I've learned in TSD work.

  • @L4WM4N booo fights! joking, but i really do think its simple. its just like running or swimming the more you do it the easier it is. all you have to do is stay fluid and work the technique. i also know TSD and have been studying it since i was 12. i have also taught a class at a branch school for 2 years awhile back. its hard if you are rigid and out of shape. its very rewarding when you see your students out pace students in the main school. i know it works thats why i dont fight.

  • @L4WM4N Wait... You mean practicing thousands upon thousands of kicks, punches, blocks, and parries over the course of several years actually helps you in a street fight? Judging by some of the comments I've seen on YouTube, Korean striking arts are all useless, and we all need to stop practicing them and immediately join a local MMA academy or risk getting beaten up (even if we have years of training under our belt).

  • i used to do tang soo do i got to first dan black belt then i quit i never liked it so i moved to mma :)

  • Ya know the military learn tsd too. Where they get all their respect. and YES SIR

  • tsd is great for short in close combat but when it goes to the floor it auotmaticly goes to bjj.

  • just make church, if you want to make money. this is easy way than martial art. or make some bible. well.. to read book is better than to learn martial art. really. once read or study something for 1 year. you will know what I say. and learn martial art or whatever. there is nothing.

human has superb brain than other all animal. you have to use brain than body. if you use body, there is nothing. and even if you mastered some martial art, you are human. not even animal level. all wasted time.

  • @gundrag000

I approved your comment because it speaks volumes about ... you, ;-). I believe I speak for everyone here when I say that an idiot can not learn a martial art. A martial art involves mental and physical discipline.

  • @L4WM4N yeah you don't read even a word of stranger or random persons talking. I know these stupids. :) and I am korean. I know all of things about this than you. and I don't care you approve or not. you can't understand the main subject from the whole writing and you understand only bad word becuz you didn't go even high school. right ?.. ah.. to involve mental ? where are you from ? at least I am korean. and I have good and strong mental than you. and I know all of martial art's history in kor

  • and even if you approved my reply, I can delete my reply. you have same right with me :D

go high school and learn how to understand whole writing.

  • @gundrag000

    * sigh. You being Korean doesn't make you knowledgeable of Korean Martial Arts. I have viewed some of your post to other video's and you are nothing more than a pest looking for attention. I simply wish you the best and encourage you to read the Bible, go to church, get to know God or study the discipline known as Tang Soo Do. You may learn some humility and respect for others.

  • TSD is good but I think that need it combine with Judo or BJJ TSD+BJJ=best!

  • haha im the tall one in the back

  • Yes we actually have 3 dans who r also pro mma's. Tsd has been very effective in the cage for them. In fact our hw fighter is fightin 2marrow here in marysville. Good luck w ur training n if ur ever n norcal look us up. Tang Soo

  • @L4WM4N I have to disagree w u. I've studied TSD for 23 yrs n most of wut I'm taught is for street defense. N our dojang is a traditional tsd school. My father was a direct student of hwang kee from the 50's til 80's.

  • @clinganc

No problem clinganc. Congrats on your time in TSD and it's cool that your father was a student of Hwang Kee's. I will stand by my statement however that Traditional vs. Street are different. TSD has great stand up but that stops when you hit the ground. Some karate schools, and TSD, also teach MMA or BJJ. Our will start an MMA class next month. I've been training in some MMA for a few months to prepare for it. It's not the same.

  • @L4WM4N Agreed, my Shotokan school also teach BJJ and are thinking of starting up a MMA class. We did some MMA training and it is very different

  • L4WM4N in my Tang Soo Do sparring we are actuly taught many take downs why are you all not allowed to catch kicks......in my very first spar i remember my sob bom nim dropping me many times and me at least trying lol plz let me know tysm

  • @Tinkerthing5

The objective in this spar is not to take them down. We train in TSD on the traditional level. Tradition and Street are two different things. However, now that I'm a Dan, street fighting is also a part of our training.

  • Tang soo do is a good thing! I love it! I'm doin for 8 monts and I'm not going to give up on it!

  • @TheRulezzzzzz

I am also a Self Defense / Custody & Control Instructor for the Dept. of Corrections. TSD is the only martial art I've studied. I asked one of my Master Instructors last November which martial art was his favorite. He has considerable rank in many. He replied that TSD was his favorite. When I asked why, he replied, "In Tang Soo Do, we break shit." Enough said.

  • I would love to see some of these tools in Judo practice....

  • ooh if that kick worked out for the other guy, that wud of been sweet! unlucky he fell tho

  • You move pretty well for a big guy! Some awesome kicks in there

  • are you not allowed catch their leg in tang soo do?

  • We can block it but not catch it. Catching it and driving them to the ground is too easy. IMO.

  • @dancollingsh yes your are allowed to catch their leg in tang soo do but its a chodan test not a championship

  • Why do you not show respect and bow when you or your sparring partner get a point?

  • This was a continuous spar. We were not sparring for points. Notice that we bow to eachother after the round.

  • twas a bit of a low blow :P

  • lol 0:39 nice try at the tornado but it failed

  • He would not have failed had I not kicked him.

  • Comment removed

  • @L4WM4N that was a beautiful deny kick.

  • Billy, your posture is so rigid. Loosen up some! Your opponent falling was kinda funny... Later
