Modded E92 M3 DCT vs. Tuned C63 AMG

You guys arent remembering the fact that every review written was with the e92 6 speed not the DCT which is 7 speed.. The DCT alone took the 0-60 from 4.5- 4.7 to 3.9- 4.3 on stock. The trans is everything. The Merc has more power and tq but so does a lot of trucks

im not buying this result one single bit. the amount of torque and power the C63 has OVER the M3... even if the M3 is modded, the C63 would have the clear advantage. Every single review clearly indicates the C63 has the grunt advantage on the road. The C63 should have walked the M3.

The C63 is faster and more powerful as a stock car, its gained more horsepower, and it then loses to a less powerful car? Again I say, keep kidding yourself.

There is no doubt that the C63 has more mod potential and is normally the faster car. I also lost to a stock C63 with a P31 package. Regardless in side by side comparo's between these two particular modded cars, on that day, this is what the result was.

To the ppl that didn't see the c63 is in sport mode, that means he's not starting in the right gear , or using manual shift mode, and to the people who said the amg's transmission is bad or worse than the m3's Go look again, dct has nothing on mct.

But, i must say, the bmw has alot better powertrain than the Merc, that is the transmission, because you can clearly see that although the Merc has more whp, it cant RUN from the more effective bmw.

The C63 should have pulled hard on the M3. I don't get it... Has the M3 gone through stage 3 weight reduction? stock for stock we know the C63 is much faster than the M3 in the straight line racing like shown in this video. In other video the modded c63 just "trumps" the modded M3.

true. however, it is not impressive since the C63 has an engine that is 2.3L higher in displacement. I love the C63AMG, great car, but I had more fun with the M3 around the track. The car is much more planted and fun to drive (on the track). Now, subjectively speaking, I also think the M3 has a little bit of better cosmetics with the side line aerodynamics, front end and mirrors. The C63 will always be the best at the drag...but I see the C63 vs the M3 like the C63 (M3) vs CTS-V (C63).

The CTS-V can have more torque and can be quicker in the drag strip, but it still a cadillac and it lacks in refinement and styling...so I would much rather have the C63. Well, it's very similar when the C63 is against the M3....

I think my main issue with the C63 is the lack of styling (couldve done a little bit more cosmetic-wise), the tranny (It quick but cant match the DCT...plus it doesn't stand racing threshold...Had problems with the SL63's MCT and the 2010 E63's at the track, which are technically more advance, yet still cant compare to the DCT), muscle car engine its not made for track, its hard to explain but you have to race it to know what I am talking about...sort of chokes after a few laps...

I see AMG engineers just look for the easy way out...they dont put as much effort and engineering in their cars...its all about corporate sales convenience...do you think BMW benefits from 6mt tranny (sales wise)? they mostly do it for their enthusiasts. MB doesnt even wanna put them on the cars b/c it makes no difference to them in sales...that's a big "screw you" to their [enthusiast] customers base...just shows they are just there for the money.

Very nice vids. I own a C63 and planning on doing a tune. BTW, I visited the AMG factory in Affalterbach and was face to face with builders and engineers. The C63's M156 is capable of 700HP, N/A.... what can the M3 do N/A? LOL. j/k. ;-P

well with the 3.2 liter e46 it made 343 hp [euro version] N/A. mercedez ever make a 3 liter engine in the history of m-benz do anything like that? Benz's do make the most incredible straight line speed. But once there's an "L" turn, it's advised you follow the speed limit.

just to answer your question no fued or anything no hard feelings not trying to insult but in the early 80s the M3 was even able to acheive more then the c63 @700hp and 6.3 liters that equals 111 hp per liter and and the first m3 was easily capable of 320hp from a 2.3 liter thats being moddest that equals 139hp per liter and this is in the 80s remember not trying to talk shit or anything just answering your question :) doesnt matter to me AMG and M are both beautiful together they could dominate

@HeelnToad Im a Mercedes anthusiast, but i have realized that although the "effective" and, more important for us, COMFORTABLE, transmissions of Mercedes and AMG, they are NOT good against rivals in terms of performance. So, if i were you, i would do some research in maybe converting "my" C63 into a manual, OR send it in to AMG so they can modify the transmission so it gets more horsepower down to the road. Because this sight is normal, m3's can actually beat a C63 because if this. :( Sad....

You shouldn't be "really" surprised, lol, I had my full interior, and the C63 I ran made 401WHP on a DD's, and didn't have the extra weight of a passenger filming! :P

Not sure when we are rerunning, he blew some steering wheel pump or something like that this past week, or it failed not really sure......but within the next few weeks we are probably going to run something but I am gonna be in vegas this next week so not really sure when.

Honestly I think I will do better since getting the stett charge pipe and fixing the boost leak/limp modes i had during the runs.
