You do realize there are only three cable news networks, so consistently coming in third is not a good thing. (Beating headline news, CNBC, or Fox business doesn't count for anything) and MSNBC's ratings are not rising.

I stayed awake for 7 days because my friend said it wasn't possible. I was working in a cafe at the time. By the third day i was finding it hard to concentrate. by the sixth day i was giving them food that they didn't order, wrong change and wasn't able to talk much to anyone. No drugs were used to keep me awake. After the seventh day i slept for 36 hours solid. Never again!! But i proved my friend was wrong :)

WOW, if that's true that's crazy, i went for a few weeks with just 2-4 hours of sleep a night. i experienced the same effects, unable to speak coherently to people, unable to understand simple jokes or instructions, can't do basic math, can't focus on the simplest tasks. FELL ASLEEP DRIVING.... at a light thankfully.

once i was doing 100km in heavy traffic, slowed to 90 then 80 then 70.....snapped back into awareness but man that's scary.

i could only imagine 7-11 days with zero sleep

This winter was my first year in university and after just ONE certain all-nighter... I was wrecked off-and-on for months. At one point I nearly passed out in the shower and had to stumble back to my bed before I would collapse and hit my head on the hard floor. I'm *just* getting over it now, and I'm sure I lost a significant amount of weight... still, I'm a lot better than before (I could have played a zombie then, thank goodness I got my looks back :D).

Has anyone ever seen a meth head.. sleep deprivation is why they act the way they do after about 48 hours. My area is full of them.. trust me it seems to have an effect.

When I worked in the oil fields after about 36 hours people went nuts. Speaking gibberish or working on equipment only they could see. I once saw someone try to steam clean a person thinking he was a blow out preventer.

Is anyone surprised to find yet another example of the Bush administration "cooking the books" to get the results they want. I'm not. I am also not surprised that they cite scientific studies to give themselves the appearance of credibility, even as they discount science on every other issue.

It's great that so much info about Bushco abuses is coming out now, but we still need to have a truth commission of inquiry to get to the deeper dirt.
