What are the chances they are around at the same time as human civilization and weren't extinct 4 billion years ago? Why would they come to the U.S. and not Australia or Argentina? Our American narcissism perhaps? Why would they come in "secret" instead of just showing up in London or Beijing? The liklihood that there are similar species to ours who can interpret language and be sustained in earths environments make the probabilities close to zero. Logic, it's useful.

@rovermanization Actually, it's called logic. Atmospheric pressure, atomic weights in other solar systems, unknown elements, gravitation pull on other planets, temperatures, atmospheric pressure differences etc. All that makes the possibility of humanoid species on other planets very unlikely.

It's nice to fantasize about... Why are the Aliens humanoids? Its obviously put into a context that we can understand. IF there are other civilizations (or were), why are they similar to ours? In other galaxys, protons can have more weight, their planet might have elements that don't exist here, their atmospheric pressure would be so different that why would they perceive the world with eyes, ears and touch? If the Universe is indeed 12 billion years old...

Watching Richard Dawkins lectures, however (he's a leading evolutionary biologist) have reinforced -- for me, anyway -- why bipedal life forms are likely elsewhere as well. If interested, simply search for his lectures with the appropriate keywords, and you'll likely find it extremely interesting from a "hard science" point of view... one of my personal favourites, I might add. :)

@siriusisastar Just remember that our understanding of the universe is very small. There there is a small chance that there has already been a similar civilization, but what are the chances it existed at the same time as ours? Even smaller. It could have become extinct 4 billion years ago. The other point I'll make is that sicne is always changing. We know now that Einstein's "law" was wrong: it is possible to travel faster than light. (see CERNs findings from last month).

@UltimaKilo305 Indeed... and with over 200 billion KNOWN galaxies (billions of planets held within each) at the time of this writing, the odds are actually extremely good that many other systems identical to ours -- time line and all -- exist. The discovery you refer to was actually not CERN, but their Italian colleagues, and yes -- fantastic stuff! First neutrinos... next -- life forms! :) I've always considered interdimensional beings as a very real possibility.

Those who are promoting the ETH have claimed "evidence" based on regression hypnosis testimony (highly suspect), MJ12 documents (highly suspect), and a star map that matches several star systems (see The Abduction Enigma book). So, these seemingly intelligent UFO researchers are promoting this bs for some secret agenda. What is it?
