They had a great culture, unfortunately the government starved them off their own land and gacve them worthless radioactive junk to live on.
I have met many REAL Native Americans and they are friendly and I feel bad and its unfortunate how they were slaved in their own land by greedy railroad tycoons. Much like how greedy oil tycoons and war mongers are enslaving modern America.

Revenge is the only word, 'that' does not stand in military terms, as a military action, therefore; when a military unit commits revenge, there 'is' no honor. @Digitalreelz It would be a total shame if this video was pulled off Youtube. Not only is it a great video, it show a very talented artist performing something he obviously enjoys performing and is obviously proud of his traditions and native american ancestors. Without doubt this should be shared with the world for all to enjoy
@Brendawallingbear I'm from Alb and found this on line. It's so beautifully done it would be a shame if it was taken down. He looks and sounds amazing and it's not filmed at the fair grounds with all kinds of noise and people eating fry bread in the background . It was filmed beautifully giving dignity to the performer and song. It's hard to come across something like this in these times and I hope it's left up for the edification of all.
I just read the comments, down at the bottom, the first comment, was his wife. This was was recorded.and oocytes without his knowledge or consent. I am sorry.
I'm drawn too, I have thoughts that the earth is calling her people together. It is like the spirit is everywhere, I want to learn the ancient ways and get back to where man should be. This video brings tears. This weekend I'm taking my 6yr son camping, the old way. It bothers me that he doesn't know as much history as I do about our native heritage.
I seen to be drawn to Native First Nations Music the last few days, I have been all over YT listening and just soaking it in. This one is especially beautiful. Mitakuye Oyasin
@whatfelix .....I rather agree..All of the sounds/tunes/vids I've heard/watched on YT ARE Nice..but (and I didn't want to say anything rude) I wish to hear music straight from the American Native People themselves.... Created by them, from their heart, with cultural instruments, when possible..... naturally or in studio, no matter......but by the People...Thanx for opening that door for me..lol Yikes...XXX Essy
all the white people down below me and the one to become on top of me, must think HIGHLY OF THIS SONG, because he is in a full regailia and his spirit face.
it's a round dance to a lover, sweetheart, girlfriend/wife, NOTHING EDWARD CULLEN MYSTYICAL. besides NON of our chants are on youtube or the net you go to the bush and find an elder to teach you. guess i start wearing full when i upload lol maybe i'll get views hahaha
this is actually called a round dance, a dance for celebration of a birthday, marriage or even in the remembrance of a passed love one. this dance is very cooperative and is a great way to have fun and make new friends.
Is this a native language that he is chanting or is he chanting specific sounds for a ritual music purpose? I'm just curious, I love this chanting I'm European but there is something in this chanting that makes me feel connected in some way. I hope these traditions can be kept alive for all generations.
@evvy21 It's not chanting. When the Europeans came here, a lot of them eradicated the use of indigenous languages for a lot of indigenous people. So most of the time, the tune is there, but vocables are used to carry the song along. the refrain can be done in language, English, french (for the First Nations in Canada), or just more vocables. See dementeddeahorse above for what the song uses are. This song is a round dance song, nothing ritual about it.
I'm an African and love Native American Indian music from all the tribes, it is my prayer that you teach your children your music and traditions that they may never die out....I love to listen to the chants that are original and not too commercialised and mixed with western special effects!! Mwah...
I love this chant - we crossed a world at different times and found each other - europe and american Indians - and we were the same people, brothers and sisters meet again and slaughter each other - shame on us. I have a great love for my American Indian brother.
I don't understand this. Today I was feeling like crap (panic attack), so I started to chant. No words just sounds. But almost right away I started to feel better. I don't know why but it seemed to work. And I feel alot better now.
The man singing is my husband, Fabian Fontenelle. Some one filmed this without his consent. Although we are saddened that someone would do this and put it on youtube we are also trying to be positive about it. The song is a Veteran's song, Fabian loves to dedicate this song to all our veterans who have served and most especially those that never returned home.
The person who filmed Fabian may have had good intention but it is not taken well when people do this, there is always the fear of being exploited plus it opens up a forum for people to react negatively towards Fabian & other Natives. We are sad today to find this video. On the positive side, he is always thankful and happy for the opportunity and priveledge to encourage and inspire people from all walks of life, that is truly important to him.

The Native Americans had such a simple life until the British came, but look what they are reduced to now, putting themselves on display and embarrassing themselves in front of so many people, being forced onto reservations where they live in poverty. The US can claim all they want that they "take care" of these majestic people, but I think they were a lot better off before the US was ever spawned.
Amazing, truely mesmerizing. I have had a fastination with The Native American people since learning a bit about General Custer's battle at Little bighorn. The natives have been treated terribly for years. I always wished I could be as close to nature as the indians.

This is a moving chant. As far as that little disagreement a few posts back. Has no one learned from history? The more blame you push on another the more they feel your to blame. Every one should shake hands and embrace as brothers and sisters, and stop this never ending circle of whos to blame. Instead put your heads together and find a solution to ones problems.
@TeddyAgram we as a native peoples have held our end of every bargain we have ever made, i too am a native CANADIAN even though they have not we can still hold our heads high and sing with honor to those that have fallen and those that still live, even if we fade into the night we have no regrets or dishonor on our heritage as a people.
The Native Americans are the most interesting culture, way of life I have ever come across, it is like the most mystical, ultimate hippy, nature oriented, free, spiritual, honorable, unity with all, etc, etc,,, I think I might have been a N American in a past life, because when I go camping I get lost in the nature and feel like I find a part of myself. I think we all need to go on our own vision quests, so that we can find what we all lost in this world, and bring it back
this brings chilles to me every time I hear one of these done live the last one i heard was in a enclosed room up in Alberta on one of the tribal centers just up above Ft McCloud Aberta
This man is dressed in his Traditional Outfit while singing a Handrum Song. Looks to me like they are getting ready for an event or just finishing up an event. Probably getting warmed up for a hand drum contest. If you all like this kind of music, search for "hand drum" and you will see more videos like this.
"Oh my love, I have gone so far away from away, as I sit alone tonight, I am thinking of you. If I don't come back remember that I will always love you"....Beautiful. One can only imagine a brave warrior on his way to battle thinking this.

@XxILIKESWaFfLEsxX First let me begin by saying, I have read all comments on this page and I think we all need some fresh insight on Native Ways so let me start by replying to this post......When I was a kid I used to shoot Magpies until one day my uncle (teaches Blackfeet Languauge @ BCC) told me not to kill them anymore. He said, "They are holy". And left it at that.
@XxILIKESWaFfLEsxX .........So i quit shooting them and years down the road I learn that some spirits (or as the Christians call them, "Angels") often appear as birds. I'll share more ceremonial info but I have to be very vauge because you can't speak about some of it. Just a respect thing. Send me an e-mail (rodwmson@gmail.com) if you or anybody else has questions about our Native Ways. I will shed as much light on it as possible.
@XxILIKESWaFfLEsxX .........I was born and raised on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, served in the Marines, Army, and the National Guard as an Infantryman. I also have attended a University in Montana so I have a good perspective on diversity.....I think! I also realize that the more you know all of a sudden realize you don't know much at all! Funny isn't it?
It seems that mainly people more awake to this world will go to videos like these =)
I love my ancestors, for I am part Apache and Blackfoot. Let us not talk about how our people died on such a beautiful song, but let us speak of how amazing they lived. And I am going to live my life as native as possible, but first i'm getting the hell out of the USA and moving with my father in Aotearoa to truly live life the way it was meant to be, or close to it!
@skittlesxlord I think you are very wise in chosing the "right" way to journey while you can. Where is Aotearoa. I am not native but I think in my past life I was because I feel more connected with your philosophy of life than the one from my ancestors. I wish I could live like you do. thanks for sharing your God's music with me.
@skittlesxlord Stay in the USA and fight for Freedom and Peace. I am a White Man and my ancestors were Mormon Pioneers of this great land they marched west across the frontier to settle in Utah. We are all Brothers and Sisters living on this planet. History has shown us what is right and what is wrong and we have the opportunity to change the world tomorrow if we all stood for what is right. You can live like your Ancestors and Honor them by doing so in the Land that they once fought for.
@wmarcus1203 You know we've been fighting for freedom and peace forever in time, the only way to do it is by not depending on anyone as in you make everything you have, but it's not easy because the controled places are growing all the time and the ditched ones are surrounded by corrupt men wanting to control you with their pathetic minds. I lost hope in USA along time, as in like you said history is showing us now that we're a great nation, as such as one repeating all the other great ones in
@skittlesxlord I honestly think Congressman Ron Paul will become President and we will have our revolution. We just have to work for it. i know I will. I respect whatever choice you make but we could use your help Brother.
@skittlesxlord Dago te Talk about the way the people lived befor the europeans came how your people respected the land and had such cultures that live on today much love n respect to my Native American friendslove his voice beautifull
I believe we're born many times on this earth. I feel truly we have spiritual families that we are connected to that has nothing to do with biological family descent, religion, or the like. I really feel there are deeper mysterious bonds that transcend all our understanding that keep us moving. I think that's what people idealize with the idea of "Native" - it's something you know in your bones. We long for our spirit father, our spirit mother, grandfather, all that is just over your shoulder.
@StrongHeartLives You may be closer to the truth than you may think. My father is like a shaman that has a lot of souls that follow him. We found a picture from late 19th century with a bunch of people we know in this life on it as thibethan nuns.
@StrongHeartLives Excellent comment StongHeartLives, this music, and the spirtial connection I feel with the planet and solar system relates entirely with the ways of the NDN's, even more so after the Peyote, Peace to ya.
@StrongHeartLives which has fallen. Man knows history well, but repeats it and I am not going to waste my time trying to save lives that don't wish to be saved, there is more freedom in NZ compared to USA now or whenever if you just look at what's really going on. If I stayed and fought for true justice and what's really right or tried to be president, they'd try their hardest to kill me for I am a man that is about changing for the better, the masses would have to want change for revolution! ;)
@StrongHeartLives religious fanatic... Just because their music is soothing doesnt mean we were born many times and that you have some mysterious bond with people.
good god, people, can't we all just get along? we have a lot to learn... let's not waste time arguing about shit that already came out of the ass. instead let's think about what we're feeding ourselves and how it makes our bodies feel.
i know youtube is a pretty big place. but this Native american singing his song grabs at your ears more then any other because it is heart felt. :] and very lovely sung. I only wish there were more videos as clear and sweet sounding as this. need to go back to new mexico and tape some more performances, Digitaltreez. Been two yrs and your still getting comments.. xD good job you! lulz
It is not good for the grandchildren to blame each other for what their grandparents did. I am of both worlds, native and white, but accepted by neither. We are children of our mother earth and are all related. When you blame someone you are blaming your family.
what an amazing, deeply touching release of emotion. we are more alike in spirit than many of us want to admit! thank you for sharing this to the world...we need it
@solotreker1 lol i know its great i seek more wisdom...i always knew there was something about the indians back then...i think one lives inside me in a way since im so kind and gentle they call me the gentle giant.
Doesn't dismissing or ridiculing another person's beliefs and values just because you don't understand them or believe them yourself make you a mean spirited, short sighted and arrogant fool who lacks any insight?
it's not necesary for humans to listen to you as long as nature listens to you . the wind blows to commote the spirits to dance and the clouds gather to listen to your voice. this chant is a painkiller for souls, spirits and the earth itself. thank you brother. from greece ...
This is beautiful and very moving. Not sure about the empty seats but I assumed that he was "blessing/preparing" the arena before the main event. Either way I watch it often as it up-lifts my soul.
@MrRichBiker when i see this kind of thing going on i honestly dont know what to say because it saddens me that kids and even some adults dont even know there own countries true lineage, everyday i get chastised at my place of work because i choose as a native myself to wear hawk feathers in my long black hair.
people need to just shut the fuck up, smoke some weed and return to the deep spiriuality that connects all of us. youtube is such a haven for fucking retarded people and their dumbass opinions. makes me sad they're allowed to vote in elections.
It is sad that every time I watch a Native video or Jewish video there is always a war in the comments, why can't people just enjoy the video. The ironic thing is I am Tewa / Choctaw and..................................... Hebrew. people will probably attack me on this. so that means I am hated on all sides
Oh, God this is beautiful, his appearance, his voice, his drum and the song. I am European but I think authentic native american chants are most beautifull music there is in the world :)
I was there that day, It was also my first time in NM for the Gathering Of Nations..I have returned ever since + moved to NM...I love this land.....

Is this a native language that he is chanting or is he chanting specific sounds for a ritual music purpose? I'm just curious, I love this chanting I'm European but there is something in this chanting that makes me feel connected in some way. I hope these traditions can be kept alive for all generations.
evvy21 7 months ago
@evvy21 It's not chanting. When the Europeans came here, a lot of them eradicated the use of indigenous languages for a lot of indigenous people. So most of the time, the tune is there, but vocables are used to carry the song along. the refrain can be done in language, English, french (for the First Nations in Canada), or just more vocables. See dementeddeahorse above for what the song uses are. This song is a round dance song, nothing ritual about it.

I love this chant - we crossed a world at different times and found each other - europe and american Indians - and we were the same people, brothers and sisters meet again and slaughter each other - shame on us. I have a great love for my American Indian brother.

TeddyAgram 11 months ago
@TeddyAgram we as a native peoples have held our end of every bargain we have ever made, i too am a native CANADIAN even though they have not we can still hold our heads high and sing with honor to those that have fallen and those that still live, even if we fade into the night we have no regrets or dishonor on our heritage as a people.
stormsurger 10 months ago
The Native Americans are the most interesting culture, way of life I have ever come across, it is like the most mystical, ultimate hippy, nature oriented, free, spiritual, honorable, unity with all, etc, etc,,, I think I might have been a N American in a past life, because when I go camping I get lost in the nature and feel like I find a part of myself. I think we all need to go on our own vision quests, so that we can find what we all lost in this world, and bring it back

And left it at that.
rodwmsonsr 11 months ago
@XxILIKESWaFfLEsxX .........So i quit shooting them and years down the road I learn that some spirits (or as the Christians call them, "Angels") often appear as birds. I'll share more ceremonial info but I have to be very vauge because you can't speak about some of it. Just a respect thing. Send me an e-mail (rodwmson@gmail.com) if you or anybody else has questions about our Native Ways. I will shed as much light on it as possible.
rodwmsonsr 11 months ago
@XxILIKESWaFfLEsxX .........I was born and raised on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, served in the Marines, Army, and the National Guard as an Infantryman. I also have attended a University in Montana so I have a good perspective on diversity.....I think! I also realize that the more you know all of a sudden realize you don't know much at all! Funny isn't it?

I love my ancestors, for I am part Apache and Blackfoot. Let us not talk about how our people died on such a beautiful song, but let us speak of how amazing they lived. And I am going to live my life as native as possible, but first i'm getting the hell out of the USA and moving with my father in Aotearoa to truly live life the way it was meant to be, or close to it!

@skittlesxlord I think you are very wise in chosing the "right" way to journey while you can. Where is Aotearoa. You can live like your Ancestors and Honor them by doing so in the Land that they once fought for.
wmarcus1203 9 months ago
@wmarcus1203 You know we've been fighting for freedom and peace forever in time, the only way to do it is by not depending on anyone as in you make everything you have, but it's not easy because the controled places are growing all the time and the ditched ones are surrounded by corrupt men wanting to control you with their pathetic minds. I lost hope in USA along time, as in like you said history is showing us now that we're a great nation, as such as one repeating all the other great ones in

@StrongHeartLives which has fallen. Man knows history well, but repeats it and I am not going to waste my time trying to save lives that don't wish to be saved, there is more freedom in NZ compared to USA now or whenever if you just look at what's really going on. If I stayed and fought for true justice and what's really right or tried to be president, they'd try their hardest to kill me for I am a man that is about changing for the better, the masses would have to want change for revolution! ;)
