I'm not really sure about this song, I like it, certainly, but it isn't a good message (or at least the message I find isn't good). It says 'God doesn't exist, but everything is still his fault', which can't be the case. I understand a reluctance to see the evil in people, but everything ever done in the name of any religion was done by humans. I don't believe in god so I have to accept that humans are all flawed to some extent, we just need to help each other make it work regardless.
it seems a mix of two messages. The suffering in the world suggests the good God of religion doesn't exist, so he can't "believe" in him in the "believe he exists" sense, but also that if he does exist, he can't "believe" in him in the sense religious people use the term believe (have trust in). It seems an "i don't care if he even exists" message. But I'm agreeing with you, the tone fits steryotypes of atheists as just angry at god.

This song always made me think. Many things happen in this world to make one question their faith on a daily basis. I however do believe in God ..... How can we no what the plan is in it's entirety? My faith in mankind ? Well.......that is another thing all together....:-/

I think Christianity is a good thing. Like Santa Claus. Children are trying to be good so they would get presents from Santa, just like christens follow jeasus rules and are good, to get to go to heaven.
Both are lies, but thats ok. Sometimes lie is necessary.
Sad thing is, neither works. Most Christians follow only the parts of Bible they seem fit, and kids always get presents, no matter how they behave.

The burden is upon the prosecution to prove the defense guilty. The defense is innocent until proven guilty. You don't have to prove the absence of something, but you do have to prove the existence. I'm not even an atheist. I just think it's terrible that you're using your beliefs as an excuse to condescend to these other people and you're application of your own beliefs in this way is just a restriction of their beliefs. What is this evidence you speak of? The bible? That is not evidence, they are stories written by man after Jesus's life and voted on by man to see which psalms got into the bible. "Miracles"? They are not evidence, they are beliefs and if that is your belief, so be it, I will fight for your right to believe in what you want.
I too was raised Christian and when I was able to think for myself and learn what evidence really is, religion no longer made sense or held value for me.

Personally, I'm Christian, but I don't think that anybody here should be trying to "Prove" why THEIR belief is supposedly right and why every person who doesn't believe that is ignorant. You can say what everybody already knows. My dad works in computer science,he meets a lot of Atheists.I've talked to a few. At least 3 of them have tried to get a look at Christianity but too many people rejected them as members of their church. Just let someone with different beliefs learn without being judged.
