  • you should make a video on how you did it! :) amazing terrarium!

  • very nice i got smithi 2 how 2 u make the earth not fall on top of her ? woud be cool 2 now

  • @yourmamahm

the clay substrate (excavator made by zoomed) is hard when it dries, so there is zero chance of cave in.

clean it with a vacuum cleaner, get the spider out first of course. Or you can just pick our the boluses, and clean the sides with a wet paper towel. The set up only lasts for so long (6mo or so) before you have to redo it anyways.

you could reinforce the clay with chicken wire (w/no sharp edges) or wooden skewers (again no sharp edges) or whatever, if you think it might fall.

  • How do you clean it?

  • That terrarium is really nice!

  • hate it when i see boring T setups. so many around but urs.... is sexy

  • sick setup m8

  • Very nice enclosure, wish i could find some place to buy some of that zoomed excavator substrate. I have only coconut peat. for my B. smithi

  • Thats fuckin cool, my friend is moving to BC and cant take his spiders on the plane cuz they will freeze to death in the luggage department so hes having me take them. one of em is a baby burrowing spider :)

  • the terrarium looks really dry so are u ment to keep mexican red knee terrariums dry cuz i got told to keep the humidty high

  • whats the brand for that clay stuff it looks siick!

  • Great Tank i just love it! Whats the song called?

  • I like that a lot. You use excavator clay burrowing substrate. Its good stuff. smells nice too when wet. Im almost done redoing my b.smithi's cage. I got cholla sticks partly submerged and dry sphagnum moss. just won a nice big cholla root system on ebay, which is gonna lead down to her burrow. Its gonna look a lot better than her old set up.

  • nice spider :)

  • thats awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best smithi terrarium i've ever seen! Great!

    5/5

  • nice

  • Whoa nice, how did u make it look so natural? looks like u dug it straight from the earth lol... is that wat u did? haha

  • I have a couple questions.

    What substrate?

    What size terrarium?

What kind of light should i use?

  • substrate: zoomed excavator 10# mixed with large sand, and eco earth (shreded coconut)

    terrarium: 5.5 gal

light: no light, spiders hate it, and the plants were dead anyway.

might look complicated but it was pretty easy, just mixed up the substrate, with water, util it was sort of jelly like then packed it around the wood, let it dry, then dug out the burrow from the front, (took a little while if you try it you will see what I mean)
