I think this is from the Japanese Natonal TV station (NHK) Italian Opera series that they used to host every 2 years. Both Cossotto and Alfredo Kraus look and sound so amazing. This must be one of the best mezzo roles in the entire 19th century opera repertoire.

Cossotto, insuperable. La más grande mezzozoprano del siglo veinte. Magnífico Kraus, Los vimos en el Teatro Colón en "La Favorita en 1967"

These artists are roles perfect for them and they give this wonderful music its full measure.
Donizetti is my favorite opera composer of the so called (3) bel canto composers the other -2- being Bellini abd Rossin1.
