had to... budrot! I don't watercure a fine plant unless I have a good reason. Cut everything clean and made sure only the clean buds made it to the watercure. I normally just cut off the fanleafs and hang them upside down for a nice long dry and cure.

Watercuring removes most of the chlorophyll and other types of "impurites" i guess you could say. Overall it just makes for a smoother smoke, but some people say that it really gets arid of the good taste if it had one before watercuring. The trichomes (THC) are not water soluble so they do not seperate from the bud itself. Hope that helps.

Water curing involves submerging the buds completely underwater for a week, changing the water everyday. People claim it takes out more chlorophyll and byproducts by i would not recommend it. The best way is just hanging them upside down in a dry room with air circulation for 7-14days. when the stems bend a bit and then snap, they're pretty much ready. If the stem bends all the way and you don't notice an audible they're too wet still.

But I hear the smoke is supposed to be ridiculously smooth.

You don't want to watercure unless you really need to. Think about smell when drying, or in my case starting bud rot. That's why I had to harvest so early and had so little from these 3 plants. Normally a good outdoor plant yields between 300 and 600 grams, especially when this big.

The cons:

- less bag appeal (=looks crappy!!)

- less taste (taste? where?? a bit minty)

- less yield (up to 15-20% less)

Great for medicinal users who vaporise anyway: Quick, easy, fast (9 days), no smell.

No i havn't done it. nor would i take the chance. The bud is also taste less after. It depletes a lot of the hyrdro carbon called "terpenes" which gives marijuana it's destinctive taste and odor, and is responsible for the aroma it gives off. The smoke may be smooth but not worth it.
