  • This sounds kind of stupid, but for a heave text messager who would like some pluses of symbian smartphones, would you suggest the KT610? I won't be needing to do much by means of data, I will go on a few mobile sites at the most, totalling up to maybe 3 web visits a week.

  • Yes, I guess that would work.

  • is the LG phone slow, dose the quality suck

  • Is BBC like the only channel over there or something? You guys sure love that iPlayer lol

  • Yes, it's about the only set of channels worth watching. No adverts, quality productions etc. iPlayer covers BBC1, 2, 3, 4 and all their radio output. So something like 80% of all good TV in the country.

  • Steve, I have to pick you up on one thing you mentioned in this video. What's the point of having hardware decoding and being able to play videos of a hugh resolution, when the N96's display is STILL 320x240?

Surely this negates the point of playing anything higher than QVGA resolution. Nokia really dropped the ball here IMO, the N96 could have been much more of a contender with a higher res screen..

  • Agreed. VGA on 2.8" is a little better, though I'd rather they went for a 3.2" or similar.

  • Of all those? I'd take the N82 on balance. But lots of pros and cons.....

  • steve the n82 or n95 8 gb wich is the best ? end my second question what phone du u recomand n85,e71,n82,6220 classic , n95 8 gb ? y heard that n85 have a problem whit oled display

  • Katy Perry fan I see :)

Great reviews, everyone I show your vids to love what you do! Keep up the great work.

  • Wow I didn't know that LG used what is the

ENV2 here in the united states under Verizon as a symbian phone elsewhere. That's probably why it is so low spec. The ENV2 is a sort of on the lower spectrum of qwerty phones.

  • Yes, the N96 would do better for these. But it's still generally unstable, so watch for updates etc.

  • wow, i thought you would slate the N96 but we get a nicely calm and slightly positive view.

I too am split between a N96 and N85 (E71 as plan B), but the hardware playback of video on the N96 has me really impressed. I have a habit of playing back full DIVX and FLV videos on my N95 in transit and so far its coped well, but it struggles on really meaty bitrates and resolutions.

    what do you think?

  • i have nokia n70, n95, and n96 one thing i know about these phone is, nokia n70 is just like all other phone of nokia like n73 and n91, but nokia n95 dont even thing about comparing to any phone in world because n95 best in the world, n96 i am useing now its a good phone also but kind of [not fast] like n70 are n95.....

  • Use emTube or Mobitubia!

  • and how do u save videos on to your phone from u tube on your nokia n96

  • what to get,nokia n96 or nokia n85?

  • Touch call. Both are new and buggy.

  • Hi Steve, soon Im going to upgrade my N93 to one of the latest N series devices but Im not sure what I should go for. Im looking at buying an N96 or the N85, I like the sound of the OLED screen on the N85 as I think the carity will be supurb but the N96's iplayer and eventual DVB-H release would be sweet. Im torn between, do you have any advice for me? Many thanks WITCHDOG.

  • N85 is probably your best option. Although nothing touches the N93 still for a lot of photo and all video work. It's an absolute classic. Most of this show is shot on my N93.

  • Thanks for your speedy reply and I think youre absolutely right the N85 would be the one to go for. I wont be getting rid of my N93, as you say the video and stills capability are top notch and its also a bit of a collectors item worth keeping hold of.

  • how do u record tv off bbc iplayer?

  • You don't 'record', you 'download'.

  • you'r great

  • thank u ^^ best show

    from kuwait

  • i cant wait for the next show. im trying to choose between n82 and samsung innov8

  • Both good devices. INNOV8 not bug free yet though.

  • Is Nokia planning to make another clam shell phone or a slide qwerty phone? The E71 is still my choice for nokia smart phones.

Your son bought you that LG didn't he? Only joking.

  • The LG was on loan from AAS...

  • oooooo steve ooooo steve you in troubleeeeeeeeeee lol the g1 is the best omg you are a true nokia fanboy ill just leave it at that. why should i pay 900 dollars for a phone that is also buggy lol

  • You shouldn't. Don't buy N96 OR G1 at the moment. Neither are stable and bug free etc. Save your money.

  • Yeah I think Android (or any open OS) has the potential to be great. The only problem was that they were trying to rush the phone out, pre-production firmware and reference design... that's totally how the US rolls?

  • hey steve no doubt i have t-mobile, Im totally satisfied with the g1 it provides everything i need since i cannot get 3g in the states on my nokia e71. But when im over in the uk I use the e71.

  • heh OS 9.4 huh .. so thats where it went .. no sadly its still just 9.3 .. Like Joe Walsh I too went for the N85 .. I might get an N96 once they fix the firmware.

  • i think the n96 is a great phone, and realy apreciate nokia phones, but... the eternal question: why not a touch screen. i know 5800 has a touch now, but 5800 is no n96. WHY can't we have it all? realy nice shows. big fan.

  • Oh, 2009 will see an Nseries with touch, I'm sure...

  • Great show steve, you give the best mobile reviews on the web. Your shows helped me choose my first smartphone. I was thinking about this N96 but I went for the N85 instead... and I love it.

  • i am wondering what is the price of the LG KT-610? because it looks like low spec phone
