This is something I liked about 90's Doc Ock, he was a mentor to Peter which explains his high intellect and I found it fitting he sounded like a college professor. It fits with his evil genius persona.

The butler at the Hardy Mansion has the same voice as Doc Ock; Efrem Zimbalist jr. also known as Alfred Pennyworth. How cool is it to be a voice in both Marvel and DC universe.
