how could i not know our King's version would wipe up the floor with all others(with ALL DUE RESPECT to the great ray charles and the KILLER Jerry Lee Lewis) but the KING IS THE KING
Ok, so that we continue know that this is a free country...Mr. Presley decided to record this wonderful RAY CHARLES SMASH HIT from the early sixties (1961 I believe). This is a horrible edition but hey, it is a free country so those of us with no rythrum and no orginiality...please enjoy!
When Elvis was inspired no one in rock could touch him. The sheer power and conviction in his voice was what rock and roll was all about. It was the blues on steroids. This was an excellent Ray Charles song -- but in Elvis' hands it was explosive. (Oh yeah, the band wasn't too bad either and that too...helped to motivate Elvis).
The tcb band are unbelievably powerful here.James Burton's guitar work to me is amazing and as for Ronnie Tutt's drumming, well it is just phenomenal.I play drums myself and his solos have never been topped,in my opinion.Explosive power is an understatment.
@Jouneezeh this version is from Collector´s God 3CD box, CD 3.
when you google collectors gold elvis preslely you´ll see.
it is a BMG release, and it seems:
quote:
In the past 4 years the Elvis Presley FTD Fan Club label has issued some true classics but the precursor to them all was 1991's brilliant 'Elvis : Collector's Gold' 3 CD set. This was the first time that Ernst & co had scoured the Elvis vaults to compile a set of undiscovered gems for a main-stream release.
@ThePuma1968 Aa okey.. Actually my uncle has the cd, I've listen it once. It's great cd! I think that's the one where is a picture of Elvis in middle of 60's and there is unreleased songs(that were on that era unreleased) for example "Inherit the Wind, Rubberneckin'" Etc. But thanks !
