I complimented his work in my last comment, and I know he'll never see this, but i felt i should say thank you, Isao Tomita, for taking me to places in my mind I never would have gone to otherwise, and they were wonderful places.
He was one of the few electronic musicians who could take the medium beyond itself, especially when making music of his own and using electronic music in the way it should be used. Larry Fast, under the name Synergy, could also reach that level. His song, Sketches of Mythical Beasts, i would put on the level of this one. They both take the listener to an Otherworld most music can't. I've been listening to these guys for over 30 years, and it's still the most fantastic music imagery I know.
What a blast from the past! This was always one of my favorite "Tomitas." Many a late night of partying in 79 led to experiencing the intensity of this mind-blower! Thanks for posting!
Credit where credit is due: this is an arrangement of a piece written by Swiss composer Arthur Honegger in 1923.
