A first person zelda... unless they give you like a Halo radar thing, couldn't you get hit from behind, also you might not be able to see all the parts of a puzzle at one time, and get seriously confused/frustrated?
dude i think u really need to stop bieng so sceptical and over theorizing bull shit coz your just coming up with rubbish and letting ur imagination run amock with you. a first person zelda would never work and would take the feel of zelda completely away from it, think a bit more down to earth and less with the theories until you actually get 100% proof evidence because thats what we want and are intrested in not theories.
If you pick the default name(Link) there will be. Otherwise, there won't. They can't voice act every name imaginable.
2: The first person thingy.
If they are INDEED going to have first person, maybe normally you look through the eyes of your fairy(Navi in OoT)And then it runs and hides during battles, making it first person.
Either that, or a Wi-fi swordfight w/ WMP and First-person.
@clipzodai ooh man imagine they had like a computer voice for all the sick names imaginable and it´d sound like Robo Cop talking haha! no seriously they sould´ve used voice acting in the earlier games now they can fuck this possibility
1st person zelda would ruin the franchise since we got into the 3d era of zelda its all been about the camera work and stuff think about it and if the game cut from 1st to 3rd during cutscenes that would be bad
i dont think it will be in first person. i think it will walk like the running game in wii fit plus and fight like the fencing game wii sports resort and the camera will be controlled with the nunchuck joystick...that would be the way i would make it if i were to incorporate the balance board...but thats just a guess...what ever happens i will always love zelda games. ^_^

If they change Zelda's gameplay to 1st person view like said here... then... Twilight princess will be the last Zelda I'll play on Wii.

Everyone is taking one assumption way too seriously, I don't care either way, its merely an opinion, not a full blown 100% confirmation. Do people these days not know the difference between opinions and facts? Even what Miyamoto said about experiecing memories and such, doesn't necessarily mean the game is in FP, he could have possibly meant bringing something back the older Zelda games had, but I can't put my finger on it.
supersmashdylan i mean if their if it is a first person then i apologize but in my opinion its not a first person any comments? i mean correct me if im wrong not offending anyone
I dont see why we would need motion plus as the the wii mote DOES still respond to movement. I'll still buy this without having bought motion plus for a challenge I guess. First person ... No. Maybe motion plus accuracy will be used in duels? And even easier aiming with the bow. Miyamoto was vague and all he said was that motion plus would be in it that means in no way he was saying it will be first person.
Thank you. Jeez! It's completely ridiculous to assume that the swordplay will be affected in any way by it being primarily third person. Shit, knowing Nintendo, they'll probably introduce some "EXCITING NEW FEATURE" and allow us to implement it at limited instances during the game-or bring it in as an assimilated gameplay mechanic; think Ice Mario and Hypermode from SMG and MP3 respectively. C'mon folks, how many BigN games have you bought and played over the years? You're gonna love it anyway.
you still with that maybe you have to learn with other lenguaje: por que solo por que utiliza el wmp tiene que ser en primera persona no has jugado the force unleashed responde bien los movimientos solo hara que la espada de link responda mucho mejor
WOW zelda in first person just no! tht is stupid u cant make an epic series for 23 yrs thts still good and fucking ruin it fot ppl by changing it so drastically thts no fair ive been a zelda fan since i was like 5 and i still play. And i kno link will be right handed cause in the zelda pick hes holding the shield in his right hand and nothing in the left just wow miyamoto wow i looked up to tht man.
well, i do know for a fact that zelda is in spirit tracks, because she is the big spirit brute on the american cover. (she is "killed" and posses that armour guy)
aperantly the villians need her body as a vessel to resurect som e bigger villian.
And I can only assume (hopefully) that the software implemented in Zelda Wii will be better at deciphering the Wii motion plus than in Wii Sports resort (which is actually pretty good, not perfect, but good).
Basically I'm optimistic. And my biggest disappointment is that consiering 1:1 sword fighting Link will probably be right-handed again. (Twilight Princess Wii got it wrong!)
Personally I think earthbounding is wrong when he says that that 1:1 sword play with the Wii motion plus would be impossible from the side or reverse view, it would be hard and unnatural yes assuredly, but not impossible.
Playing Wii Sports resort with the swords has shown to me that the motions would stick with your in game character's point of view. A change of view would likely lead to an enemy strike but it's pretty much just a simple Z-button press to reset the view.
I remember being extremely dubious about hearing about a 1st person Metroid game, then I experienced the awesome that was Metroid Prime.
Yes is was unable to have the most awesome of powerups the speed booster (though really there were ways it could have been implemented and NO boost ball doesn't count) however it was an incredible game with two incredible sequels.
People! EVERY SINGLE ZELDA GAME THERE IS IS NOT IN 1ST PERSON AND EVEN IF IT ISN'T IN 3RD PERSON YOU WOULD STILL SEE HIS ENTIRE BODY REALLY ( in Zelda ll you see his side and in the other digital Zeldas you see his from above ) SO MIYAMOTO DO NOT PUT IT IN FIRST PERSON!!!
if they use the balance board then im just gonna die alot more inside than when i saw toon link. i really hope nintendo watches some of these vids and reads the comments
actually, nintendo did team up with a 3rd-party company: Phillips, when they made the ever-so-crappy CDi games Link: Faces of Evil, Zelda: Wand of Gamelon, Zelda's Adventure, and Hotel Mario.
I TOTALY AGREE remake Occarina of Time and later Majora's Mask or sell them together in the same package ramp up the music and graphics using the Twilight Princess format for the wii remote and WHAM instant best seller!
hell yea >:D but if they want to add stuff whitch makes them have to take stuff out then i say dont bother, but they can add stuff as long as it dosnt rly have to do with the game xP maybe some side quests or somthin but other than that, if they remake OoT i only want inhansed graphics and new play control xP
i think a first person Zelda would be awesome, sure it would be diferent, new and maiby a bit confusing, but i think it would still be great. Then again thats just me...
i don't think it's going to be in first person. it can be in third person. like star wars the force unleashed. you can still control your swing even though you're in third person.
I dont care if it is in first person or third, i just want an awesome zelda story, awesome gameplay with all kinds of tools, awesome and creative level design, and the most important thing of all i really and i mean really want it to be hard (old school hard) with challenging temples traps and timers. and faster harder hiting monsters, bosses that can kill you. let me feel that i acomplished something by overcoming a boss that killed me 4 times before.
I'm surprised it took you this long to think of that theory. I mean, of course first person makes sense with WMP.
TBH, it actaully sounds pretty cool to me, the only downside of it would be his special moves, how would those work. Would the camera really move in a 360 degree arc clockwise when Link does his roll around the enemy attack from TP for example?
If they do it right, it could be a very fun experience.
It's highly-unlikely that it'll be in first-person. Here's how the combat will probably work: however you swing the wii remote, it'll be mirrored in the game just like in twilight princess. Why you're saying link's back always has to be towards the camera to use his sword? It'll be like the last zelda on wii, but with less bugs and glitches that occur during the game. There just perfecting the old combat system. And if they use Wii Balance Board it DEFINITELY won't be required, just an add-on.
I like the idea of first person... I don't think it would be that bad... there could be a combat mode, every time link takes his sword the camera zooms in and he fights in 1st person, but when the fight is done it moves back to normal.
fuck the balance board, its trash everygame that has utilized it has been garbage and i completey agree with the new console theory very knowledgeable
I hope they have the choice of choosing between first and third person views cuz honestly i love first person games but twilight princess was really fun in third person.
First person could never work, I'm hoping for a misunderstanding... Even if they did want to force it upon us, the game would probably have less sales because of the dodgy gameplay first person would probably cause.
The addition of Wii Motion Plus, possible add ons and what not all points to Nintendo looking to Zelda to be the big profit generating game that they need. With people going out to buy these additions and the long anticipated game, that creates the money making game they so despirately need.
Although I really don't want Zelda to turn 1st player, I and many others, would really like to see this new game capture some of the magic that OoT had. Get a plot and dungeon layout that challenges us.
What I think is if Link has his front to the camera, if you swing to the right, he'll swing to your right, but his left. That is if he swings however you move the wii remote. Also what got me thinking is the first person mode, how would you look around? With the wii mote? No, don't you use that to swing? It would be difficult.
I really can't see why the swordplay couldn't work in the same way as it did in WIi Sports Resort. Just have the camera close to link's back in sword fights and have link semi transparent. It could work very well so long as the camera works well, and the camera has always been something the zelda series has nailed perfectly.
ever play that track game on the NES with the mat? what if that's how you went forward, and you could make link pivot by putting more weight on one side (planted foot stays put like in basketball)
if it is in third person, i think it would be horrible. because, if you getting attacked by a crowd then you'll be hit and have limited control over the situation. also what if an archer shoots you? youl have a hard time finding him.
wmp can work in third person veiw. the targeting can still be what it was in TP and wmp will still work. you all are making this waaaay more than what it is.
first person zelda ..... just doesnt seem right. i've always liked zelda in third person just like OOT. i just cant flow with that idea hopefully they'll do the right thing and keep it normal.
I have followed your video updates on Zelda for quite a while, until now I haven't had a problem with your speculations. You seem to force the idea that it will be a first person game, but there are plenty of other options. Such as the swordplay from Wii Sports resort. When locked on to an enemy, the camera is forced to link's back.
Also, I don't think it's really that hard to use the sword 1:1 even when facing the character's front. Could it be First person? Yes. Do we know for sure? No.
Ahem. First person swordplay has been pulled off before. So has first person puzzling. Basically everything about zelda has been done well in first person before. So quit yer bitchin.
BUT, if it uses balance board; or stupid, poorly executed wagglan, i will buy a copy just to upload a video of me cracking it in half.
Khlova: Wow, I can understand if it's stupid or uses waggle, but just because it uses the balance board? Geez, and your the one saying not to complain about a new idea for Zelda?
i hate how you're so stuck on this 1st person thing. i mean seriously, it's so vague. there are so many other possibilties.
maybe you'll only go into ful 1:1 CONTROL WHEN Z-TARGETING AN ENEMY. the camera can focus on links back in those sequences. and also, just because link isn't facing the same direction as you when you're dosn't mean you don't have full 1:1 control at all. that's the dumbest conclusio you've ever made. link can still capture you're exact motions even if it's in third person
the first person thing could work if u can alternate it with third person...like in twilight princess the c button can give link a first person view on stuff...this could also be the button that switches Link to first person mode on the new game
i HOPE they keep it 3rd person it would destroy the whole series I mean really...they have the same camera style since Ocarina of Time they cant back out now...and the worst part is...ill buy the game even iff its first person! DX
if they make zelda wii first person I will never buy another nintendo product again.(at least thats what i feel right now.) It makes me sick. All this talk about wanting to cater to both casual and hardcore gamers is shit. From the looks of it, nintendo is going to throw it's hardcore fans under the bus by trying to fix what isn't broke.
i think mabye first person boss battles may be cool, but the rest of the game should be like twilight princess, it is classic and easy to understand and pick up and play
I really hope it isn't in first person... Honestly, I don't really like FPS' at all... I just don't think they play as well.
It IS notable though that the Elder Scrolls games are often played in First person, but at the same time, their combat systems never were as intricate as Zelda's.
One thing I do like though.... A new main villain?! Awsome!
Honestly, Ganondorf's good and all but he's recycled so much that I'm geting sick of seeing him. I hope you're right about this one at least.
"We"? I like zelda because of Sword-Play, FPS Swordplay that you control? I've been waiting for a game like that. ON ZELDA? MY FAVORITE GAME? Awsome. [Note: If you troll me I am mature enough NOT to respond]
In an earlier "part" earthbounding mentioned that retro studio maybe was part of the zelda wii's development, and it would be more than normal if zelda wii is first-person, since we can all agree they made an awesome job with the metroid primes. Who knows, maybe nintendo let retro studios handle the metroid series to know if they could help develop a first-person zelda, later?
I have a feeling that since it is zeldas 25th birthday I would have to say that they will go all out with the wii and its possibilits considering its the closet thing we have to virtual reality so fp would not be impossible or even unlikely also further abaysis on the picture realsed recently the logo is silver which has only been done on the first zelda ever and since the zelda frachise is 25 years old I wouldn't be surprised if we were brought back to the hyrule from the first game
What's this bull shit about Zelda being in first person? The Motion Plus will work better in third person. And I can't see the problem with Link facing different directions..
Baseless theory. You can't count Twilight Princess in two consoles, only on the GameCube, since the Wii version is officially a port. And what about the SNES? It only had A Link to the Past.
We haven't seen any in-game footage or trailers yet, so I wouldn't set myself in stone about ANYTHING he says.
And you clearly don't need 1st person perspective to really grasp full motion from the Wii Motion Plus. If you've played Wii Sports Resort, you'll know exactly what I mean.
I highly doubt they'll turn Zelda 1st Prsn. Metroid was a different scenario because the franchise was being revived, but we'll see how this holds.
OMG ZELDA IS GOING TO BE IN FP! WERE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!!!
lol im not worried at all, after seeing redsteel 2, im convinced that zelda will be ok. but i think the game will be in 2nd person. it could work, looking over Link's shoulder woudnt be that bad
also what if when u target on a enemy it goes to FP then it goes back to TP, i wouldnt mind that either
but the whole wiiHD, its not going to happen. nintendo has so much money off the wii, i think they could wait like 2 years
it would be so lol if in the game you switch to 1st person when you lock on XD
that way you could swing your sword while you fire/throw stuff XDD
But If nintendo does that, I think they'd have an option so you can lock on in 3rd person, since nintendo tends to retend it's franchises' gameplay as usual
at 0:00 that way cool scene where link is pulling the master sword from its pedistal where did you get it?? and where can i find the whole thing???

yea ill believe its first person when i see or hear it from miyamoto
1574397864 2 years ago
Everyone is taking one assumption way too seriously, I don't care either way, its merely an opinion, not a full blown 100% confirmation. Do people these days not know the difference between opinions and facts? Even what Miyamoto said about experiecing memories and such, doesn't necessarily mean the game is in FP, he could have possibly meant bringing something back the older Zelda games had, but I can't put my finger on it.

I dont see why we would need motion plus as the the wii mote DOES still respond to movement. I'll still buy this without having bought motion plus for a challenge I guess. First person ... No. Maybe motion plus accuracy will be used in duels? And even easier aiming with the bow. Miyamoto was vague and all he said was that motion plus would be in it that means in no way he was saying it will be first person.
supersmashdylan 2 years ago
Wrong.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed used the Wiimote for the lightsaber, yet it was in 3rd person. Why would this be any different?
022107 2 years ago
Thank you.
Gytar7007 2 years ago
you still with that maybe you have to learn with other lenguaje: por que solo por que utiliza el wmp tiene que ser en primera persona no has jugado the force unleashed responde bien los movimientos solo hara que la espada de link responda mucho mejor

it's only for better response for the sword

And I can only assume (hopefully) that the software implemented in Zelda Wii will be better at deciphering the Wii motion plus than in Wii Sports resort (which is actually pretty good, not perfect, but good).
Basically I'm optimistic. And my biggest disappointment is that consiering 1:1 sword fighting Link will probably be right-handed again. (Twilight Princess Wii got it wrong!)
Unclevertitle 2 years ago
Personally I think earthbounding is wrong when he says that that 1:1 sword play with the Wii motion plus would be impossible from the side or reverse view, it would be hard and unnatural yes assuredly, but not impossible.
Playing Wii Sports resort with the swords has shown to me that the motions would stick with your in game character's point of view. A change of view would likely lead to an enemy strike but it's pretty much just a simple Z-button press to reset the view.
Unclevertitle 2 years ago
I remember being extremely dubious about hearing about a 1st person Metroid game, then I experienced the awesome that was Metroid Prime.
Yes is was unable to have the most awesome of powerups the speed booster (though really there were ways it could have been implemented and NO boost ball doesn't count) however it was an incredible game with two incredible sequels.
Unclevertitle 2 years ago
the possibility to play would not bad, because i think there are some gamers out there who want to play zelda like in elder scrolls 4 oblivion^^
but making only to play in first person would ruin zelda :))))))

hell yea >:D but if they want to add stuff whitch makes them have to take stuff out then i say dont bother, but they can add stuff as long as it dosnt rly have to do with the game xP maybe some side quests or somthin but other than that, if they remake OoT i only want inhansed graphics and new play control xP

i don't think it's going to be in first person. it can be in third person. like star wars the force unleashed. you can still control your swing even though you're in third person.
crazidan96 2 years ago
I dont care if it is in first person or third, i just want an awesome zelda story, awesome gameplay with all kinds of tools, awesome and creative level design, and the most important thing of all i really and i mean really want it to be hard (old school hard) with challenging temples traps and timers. and faster harder hiting monsters, bosses that can kill you. let me feel that i acomplished something by overcoming a boss that killed me 4 times before.
RodonJarino 2 years ago 2
I'm surprised it took you this long to think of that theory. I mean, of course first person makes sense with WMP.
TBH, it actaully sounds pretty cool to me, the only downside of it would be his special moves, how would those work. Would the camera really move in a 360 degree arc clockwise when Link does his roll around the enemy attack from TP for example?
If they do it right, it could be a very fun experience.
5978888 2 years ago
It's highly-unlikely that it'll be in first-person. Here's how the combat will probably work: however you swing the wii remote, it'll be mirrored in the game just like in twilight princess. Why you're saying link's back always has to be towards the camera to use his sword? It'll be like the last zelda on wii, but with less bugs and glitches that occur during the game. There just perfecting the old combat system. And if they use Wii Balance Board it DEFINITELY won't be required, just an add-on.
syst3m08 2 years ago
I like the idea of first person... I don't think it would be that bad... there could be a combat mode, every time link takes his sword the camera zooms in and he fights in 1st person, but when the fight is done it moves back to normal.
DalSifoDyas 2 years ago
fuck the balance board, its trash everygame that has utilized it has been garbage and i completey agree with the new console theory very knowledgeable

Hey i think changing the Zelda series by making it first person with Wii motion plus is gonna be AMAZING!
Hyrulemaster21 2 years ago
The addition of Wii Motion Plus, possible add ons and what not all points to Nintendo looking to Zelda to be the big profit generating game that they need. With people going out to buy these additions and the long anticipated game, that creates the money making game they so despirately need.
Although I really don't want Zelda to turn 1st player, I and many others, would really like to see this new game capture some of the magic that OoT had. Get a plot and dungeon layout that challenges us.
spartanflyer 2 years ago
What I think is if Link has his front to the camera, if you swing to the right, he'll swing to your right, but his left. That is if he swings however you move the wii remote. Also what got me thinking is the first person mode, how would you look around? With the wii mote? No, don't you use that to swing? It would be difficult.
Yoshiprince2 2 years ago
I really can't see why the swordplay couldn't work in the same way as it did in WIi Sports Resort. Just have the camera close to link's back in sword fights and have link semi transparent. It could work very well so long as the camera works well, and the camera has always been something the zelda series has nailed perfectly.

ZeldaLP 2 years ago
I have followed your video updates on Zelda for quite a while, until now I haven't had a problem with your speculations. You seem to force the idea that it will be a first person game, but there are plenty of other options. Such as the swordplay from Wii Sports resort. When locked on to an enemy, the camera is forced to link's back.
Also, I don't think it's really that hard to use the sword 1:1 even when facing the character's front. Could it be First person? Yes. Do we know for sure? No.
TheCongressman1 2 years ago 3
Ahem. First person swordplay has been pulled off before. So has first person puzzling. Basically everything about zelda has been done well in first person before. So quit yer bitchin.
BUT, if it uses balance board; or stupid, poorly executed wagglan, i will buy a copy just to upload a video of me cracking it in half.
khlova 2 years ago
Khlova: Wow, I can understand if it's stupid or uses waggle, but just because it uses the balance board? Geez, and your the one saying not to complain about a new idea for Zelda?

u no i dont give a shit wether its in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 43rd as long as they make it amazing thats fine by me.
lightningtheifluver 2 years ago
i hate how you're so stuck on this 1st person thing. i mean seriously, it's so vague. there are so many other possibilties.
maybe you'll only go into ful 1:1 CONTROL WHEN Z-TARGETING AN ENEMY. the camera can focus on links back in those sequences. and also, just because link isn't facing the same direction as you when you're dosn't mean you don't have full 1:1 control at all. that's the dumbest conclusio you've ever made. link can still capture you're exact motions even if it's in third person
josiahcorbai 2 years ago 3
Quite the stressful one, eh?
earthbounding 2 years ago
the first person thing could work if u can alternate it with third person...like in twilight princess the c button can give link a first person view on stuff...this could also be the button that switches Link to first person mode on the new game
Newbpwn3r180 2 years ago 2
i HOPE they keep it 3rd person it would destroy the whole series I mean really...they have the same camera style since Ocarina of Time they cant back out now...and the worst part is...ill buy the game even iff its first person! DX

if they make zelda wii first person I will never buy another nintendo product again.(at least thats what i feel right now.) It makes me sick.

I'm sorry, more like "YOU" can conclude.
Metroid was a different scenario because the franchise was being revived, but we'll see how this holds.

also what if when u target on a enemy it goes to FP then it goes back to TP, i wouldnt mind that either
but the whole wiiHD, its not going to happen. nintendo has so much money off the wii, i think they could wait like 2 years

it would be so lol if in the game you switch to 1st person when you lock on XD
that way you could swing your sword while you fire/throw stuff XDD
But If nintendo does that, I think they'd have an option so you can lock on in 3rd person, since nintendo tends to retend it's franchises' gameplay as usual
