I remember this storm, I was about 6 yrs old @ that time and I lived in Clarence, Buffalo and we went through 2 days of it until we heard on our wireless radio that we could get out and stay with our cousins in Rochester. THANK GOODNESS 4 RADIOS! :D

I remember this i live in buffalo. I woke up and there was 15ft of snow on my lawn. My dad's car was completly covered in snow it just wasnt there anyomore. the rest of the night i stayed awake watching trees fall and listening to cracking. Power was out for 1 and a half weeks but we had a generator that ran our house. NO SCHOOL FOR 1 1/2 WEEKS IT WAS AWESOME

I remember when our power came back on I was sitting in the middle of the living room facing the TV. 15 minutes later my dance teacher called to tell me class was cancelled. Man I remember this storm. I had no power/heat/showers for 8 days. I heard the storm taking out the power lines at night (saw the lines and circuits zapping purple colors and falling), and when I woke up my 2 cars were literally underneath the snow. We had people cruising down the streets with their snomobiles to get around. Took me all fucking day to dig my car out. They even called in national guard for disaster relief for this event.

no they dont, they have a constant pilot light. if that goes out, then you just go down and relight it.

wasn't saying any of us is an expert. just saying that most GAS hot water tanks have a pilot light that is not electrically operated in any way. An allelectric hot water tank of course would require the electricity to be on. just sayin, not saying you're lying about anything. just a comment about GAS hot water tanks.

This happened 2 DAYS before my wedding!!! I cried from Thursday night until Friday afternoon when I found out that the Holiday Inn on Grand Island finally had power! I remember this OmG that was a crazy few weeks..I had no power for almost 2 weeks but we had a genarator but we only used it for the pellit stove so we didnt wast gas..the lines at ALL the gas stations (that were even open) were half way down the street, me and my boyfriend at the time had a bon fire party, got drunk, and had a snowball fight with a bunch of people.
