Great suggestions to shoot from different locations, positions, angles. distances, and REAL LIFE hunting situations. I used to practice these ways, plus I shot everyday too! You rarely get the chance to see a deer standing completely broadside, and in the wide open, without any sort of possible obstacles between the two of you. Being able to mentally handle these situations is a large part of being able to physically handle them as well... which is when this type of practice kicks in gear!
I used to go to quite a lot of 3D archery tournaments, when I was healthier, and a lot more active years ago. One place had a similar set-up there. I LOVED this shooting opportunity! They had a bonus shot (if anyone wished to try it... as an extra fee for a raffle item later that day). However, they added in another twist to their shot. The shooter was placed up in an elevated platform/balcony area to shoot from. This created a simulated running, and quartering away shot from a treestand.
