  • Finally a normal republican, wish America could vote this man for president. XX from Holland

  • The RINO speaketh...

  • Old School Republicans are soooo much better than these cunts who call themselves ' Conservatives ' today.

  • @wowamonn Like Reagan?

  • @wowamonn "Cunts"? How very progressive of you. You must hate conservatives due to their "anti-woman" rhetoric, right? Do yourself a favor, read the title of this link, then google the word, "irony". Thanks.

  • @dalmatian847 Who said I was a progressive? Strawman?

  • @wowamonn No, you're right, progressive no, mysogynistic ...very much so. You obviously have zero respect for woman to use a term that would make any self respecting woman cringe. Enjoy your ignorance. Carry on.

  • @dalmatian847 I am a woman.

  • @wowamonn Congratulations, you must be so proud the word cunt is a prominent part of your vocabulary. Setting woman's lib back 100 years all by your lonesome.

  • @dalmatian847 I seriously doubt using the word cunt, will regress humanity.

  • i totally agree with abortion view. it should be up to women not men. 80% of anti-abortionist leaders are men, 100% will never get pregnant.

  • You know I'm a Democrat through and through but let me say that Alan Simpson reminds me of the old school Republicans who were Sane. The Party needs more Ikes, more Simpsons and more Lugars. Less Santorum (insert joke here) Less Bachmann and Less Cain.

  • @bluesboy25000

You are so correct. I am a Democrat also but I had respect for the Republicans that focused more on fiscal issues and less on nutty social ideas. Santorum is cruel and Simpson makes a great point that we are all human beings.

  • @MorganKrista1 What exactly has Santorun said specifically that makes him "cruel" in your estimation? Would denying living babies medical care after botched abortions be considered "cruel" in your book? That's was Obama's signature piece of legislation while in the IL Congress, not Santorum's.

  • @dalmatian847 "What exactly has Santorun said specifically that makes him "cruel" in your estimation?" Santorum is a moron. as a former Catholic, now atheist, keep your fucking religion out of politics. Want to live in a theocracy, try Iran

"Actually as highly as I think of myself" only 1 of 7 billion. So sad to hear that about you punk

"Unemployment under "the disasterous Bush" was 5% UNTIL the Dems took over the House and Senate" what did they pass Bush didn't veto? Specific

  • Mr. Simpson, it's too bad you're not running for President. I'd vote for you without a second thought.

  • I FOUND A REPUBLICAN WHO IS SANE!!! SANTORUM ON THE OTHER HAND IS IN-SANE!!

  • what ever happened to republicans like alan simpson?

  • @longhornssb They dropped their masks and became open Democrats. See Arlen Specter for further reference.

  • Abortion will never go away. If it were made illegal again, an illegal abortion industry would spring up over night and it would be a drain on police resources. I believe the money needed to police backstreet abortions is not, and, will never be available. There will always be women, who, for their own personal reasons do not want to carry their baby to term and give birth. We cannot be forced. If men could get pregnant, you bet, some, for their own personal reasons would find a way.

  • simpson is awesome

  • Gee this is a Republican I like.

  • @macvic311 That's because he's Republican In Name Only or a RINO.

  • Good to hear real talk from a Repub, not sure how many of those kind are left over on the right but I'm sure it is a rare rare breed now.

  • LOL just wow even the "only sane republican left in the party" is starting to see just how crazy his party has become.

  • Gop is anti Women, anti gay? LOL Dick Cheney daughters was gay, Last I checked Sarah Palin was a women.

I think Democrats like Bill Clinton, Womanizer, or Jesse Jacksons issues lately might suit you better.

  • @papavalium - Darth Cheney is pro-family, his family. The rest of the US can service them. Darth Cheney's only concern is wealth and leaving it all to his kids

Cheney isn't a "voice" of the GOP though. He's an opportunistic shark, an oil man who's as slimey as they come. He's why Haliburton got all of those "no bid contracts" and why Haliburton transferred their corporate offices from Texas to Dubai

Yeah, no more fat, no bid government contracts for them, but they already fleeces the US taxpayer

  • @sol3a1 Hmmm, shall we compare the charitable donations given by Cheney to Biden's? Tell me something, why exactly is it that Haliburton continues to collect taxpayer money under the Obama Administration then? How much did Cheney have invested in Solyndra? LightSquared? Fisker automotive? At least Haliburton is still a functioning company, unlike the crony capitalism under Obama,.

  • @papavalium yeah and thats why when they were done using Sarah Palin they laughed and mocked her and even Darth Cheney's daughter was told "too bad you can get married, maybe next year" they are very much anti-both. I'm sure in the Cheney house when his daughter complained because she wanted to marry a girl legally she was told "no honey, you're just having your period"

  • @papavalium - Since you are a coward who likes posting to other people's comment section but like all good cowards refuse to allow open discussion on your board "pending approval", I think I found my new punching bag. To answer your post:

Really? I was under the impression it was speculators using the unrest, the "Arab Spring", in the Middle East as one reason for high oil prices.

  • @papavalium - now the last part:

Another reason was the ballooning US deficit, started under Bush and Darth, that took off in the "good times" of the middle part of the last decade. The reason they were not good times is that middle class wages were stagnant and the "boom" came from cheap borrowing from Japan's 0% interest loans.

You must be a Tea-Buggerer. Thanks for playing!

  • Wow, a republican I like.

  • @7926645 - That's what the GOP used to be, before Nixon and his "Southern Strategy"

See, I used to be a Republican but every year I had to hold my nose more and more while voting for GOP candidates

I broke from the GOP in 2000 when they nominated this moron named "Bush the Younger" and I knew the country was going to hell quickly

  • @sol3a1 Thanks for the insight, very interesting:).

  • @sol3a1 Oh right, would that be the same Nixon that created the EPA? I thought Republicans were all about dirty air and water? I think you are full of shit, and your lack of knowledge on the Republican Party proves it.

  • @dalmatian847 "Oh right, would that be the same Nixon that created the EPA?" by today's GOPrick standards, that would make Nixon a tree-hugging, capitalism hating, regulation happy RINO. The current crop of GOPricks in office want to gut all regulations, "relax" (read get rid of) clean air and water protections to "take the burden off business

I was a Republican until the GOP left me. I'm an Abraham Lincoln/Teddy Roosevelt. It is you who are clueless. Radical Republicans anyone?

  • @sol3a1 You are so full of shit, your outhouse would be jealous. Tell me which of "all regulations" does the GOP want to gut? You are tall on rhetoric, woefully short on facts. Explain WHAT regulations did Bush, the idiot "gut" exactly? It wasn't Glass-Steagall, which helped in large part to lead to the financial collapse in 08. That was Clinton's baby. So tell me genius, ex GOPrick, which regulationd did Bush "gut" when he had complete control of Congress?

  • @sol3a1 So just so I understand your timeline, you voted for Bush 41 over Clinton and Bob (the living corpse) Dole over Clinton but somehow in 2000, you thought Al Gore, the V.P of the guy you didn't vote for was "your guy"? LMFAO!!!!! You need to become a better liar, and you are in the perfect party to achieve that goal!

  • After so much damage the Republican party did to the GLBT community of America, it's hard to trust Republicans in general

  • "Coliwood" is exactly right. Pay NO attention to what the man is saying. Just look at the (R) that USED to be by his name. It stands for Republican...and if this video is any indication...that means that "diddling their secretary" is acceptable language in his arena....and he has the nerve to talk about disrespect! We need to DUMP THEM ALL and start again with fresh blood in Congress!! No incumbents in the next election! NONE!

  • This man was nearly ousted from office recently for being DISRESPECTFUL to an older woman! He laughed at his position in a committee to try to repair Social Security, and he has little respect for the sense of the American people. He does NOT need to be in any kind of office simply because he is indiscreet! Much less taking his job seriously. What a hypocrite! Please look up "Social Security is a Cow With 310 MIllion Tits" This is Alan Simpson's stated opinion.

  • Dear Alan, please run independently...PLEASE...

  • If this were the way most GOP senators were I'd probably would still be a Republican

  • American needs about 100 more men and women just like him to take over Congress.

  • this guy just won everything ever. +99 internets, good sir.

  • HOW IS THIS MAN A REPUBLICAN!?!?!?

  • @PolytheisticDeities (R) it the R by his name, that means he is conservative. Pay no attention to what he is saying look look only at the letter R.

  • @PolytheisticDeities The Republican party has moved far to the right over the last few decades (and Democrats too). Alan Simpson would have been at the center of his party in the past, but now his party has moved to the far right and Simson hasn't. Hell, Simpson is even to the left of most Democrats now.

  • @soundslave Oh bullshit. Simpson is a jackass. Why do you think Obama picked him to his "bipartisan" blue ribbon debt commision , only to ignore everything he suggested.

  • @dalmatian847 And what is your oppinion of what I said in my comment?

  • @soundslave Evidently you missed my first sentence. Oh bullshit. Hope that clears it up for you. Neither party(particularly Democrats LMFAO) have moved to the right. Far from it. We have the most LEFTIST President in our country's history in the Oval Office, have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as Congressional leaders. On the flipside, Boehner is not conservative, neither is McConnell.McCain was the nominee in 2008, also not conservative. So your comment doesn't hold water. Have a nice day.

  • @dalmatian847 leftist?

Keeping open Guantamo Bay Prison, keeping Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, giving up on the healthcare reforms (caved in to presure from the insurance firms like the corporate puppet he is). If you think he's leftist then Reagan was a socialist by your standards.

  • @soundslave Once again, reality never permeates your membrane. What was he supposed to do on Gitmo? If Bush followed the Progressive, FDR, he'd have herded all Muslims into camps. Would you consider FDR not to be liberal? Perhaps he should have just nuked Afghanistan and Iraq like Harry Truman? See, your argument doesn't hold water historically. The Democrat Party of today, FDR, Truman , JFK wouldn't recognize.

  • @soundslave JFK dropped tax rates well befiore Reagan even dreamed of them. He got the world closer to nuclear war than anyone before or since, yet Reagan was the cowboy. So tell me what side of the aisle would JFK find himself at today?

  • @soundslave Reality always trumps rhetoric. Case in point, Barack Obama's State Dept warning Syria's neighbors about the potential for WMD;'s this past Friday. You know, those WMD's that Bush "lied" about.

  • @soundslave Why is it the only complaint liberals have about Obama is that he wasn't even a BIGGER idiot than what he's he's already established to be? Obamacare will bankrupt the U.S while providing WORSE medical care and you think that's not enough? Tell me when in the history of the world is a massive tax increase justified during an economic downturn? Where was he supposed to put Gitmo detainess? He tried, no takers. Move them next to you , perhaps?

  • @dalmatian847 You're argument carries no weight because social healthcare works and taxation of the most wealthy to help fund massive public construction projects is what the USA did in the 30s.

  • @soundslave So tell me something, genius. How is it that I've blown a hole big enough for Obama's deficit to fit in your argument about how" both parties have been moving to the right", yet my argument carries no weight? You have demonstrated to be ignorant of history in addition to economics, Social healthcare works? For whom? At what cost? Those massive construction projects got us out of the Great Depression in what year exactly? Really, do yourself a favor, quit while you're behind.

  • @dalmatian847 "How is it that I've blown a hole big enough for Obama's deficit to fit in your argument" wow, you really think highly of yourself don't you and for no reason what so ever

Let's see where the deficits came from

    1: Iraq War

    2: Afghan War

3: Unemployment starting Sept '08 under Bush and more unemployment applications

4: Less tax revenues due to 10% unemployment that is finally coming down

So clown how can you blame the deficit on Obama when Bush left a mess?

  • @sol3a1 Actually as highly as I think of myself, I couldn't think any less of you, sport. Where did the OBAMA deficits come from? Let's check your facts, shall we?

1)Iraq and Afghanistan? WRONG. The real costs of those two wars TOTAL do not add up to Obama's ONE-TIME stimulus that stimulated nothing other than unemployment, which adds to ...

    2) 99 week unemployment claims thatat are unpaid for. Odd given the "shovel ready jobs" #1 promised us.

    Nice try, assclown.

  • @sol3a1 More people are on foodstamps than at any time in U.S history. Where do you suppose that money is coming from? Unemployment under "the disasterous Bush" was 5% UNTIL the Dems took over the House and Senate. How'd that work out for you? It's interesting that things got WORSE when Dems were in charge, but the numbers are BETTER now that the GOP controls one third of one third of the government and are suppoedly BLOCKING Obama. Facts are funny things, aren't they?

  • @dalmatian847 "More people are on foodstamps than at any time in U.S history" started to jump under Bush 43 and exploded as US Corps who got tax breaks under the GOPrick controlled government, all 3 branches, gave tax breaks to move jobs over seas

"It's interesting that things got WORSE when Dems were in charge" you really don't know much. You forget things take time to move through the economy. Good to see the GOPrick "economy" was a leveraged house of cards on US Middle Class

  • @dalmatian847 "BETTER now that the GOP controls one third of one third of the government and are suppoedly BLOCKING Obama. Facts are funny things, aren't they?" yes facts are great but yours are totally fact free, unless you count half truths, which you're full of

You asked what things the GOPricks were taking down for the environment? Pollution controls for coal power plants, Uranium mining in the Grand Canyon and more

GOPricks refer to the EPA as "over-reaching" anti-business

  • @dalmatian847 What about the bloated defense budget? 58% of governmeny spending goes into it. No 'leftist' would permit that with all the social problems which need the money more.

  • @PolytheisticDeities *sigh* they don't make them like they used to

  • @PolytheisticDeities

    He's not a current Republican, he's an old-school Republican

not a damn neocon piece of crap

  • @PolytheisticDeities He's not. Which is why Obama hand-picked him for his "bi-partisan " debt commision. He's as much a Republican as Joe Lieberman is a Democrat.

  • I'm anti-abortion myself (meaning I think abortion should be outlawed in most cases), and I also think Rick Santorums positives outweigh his negatives, so I'd gladly vote for him over Barack Obama. But at the same time, I must give FMR Senator Simpson kudos for calling out social conservatives. The way they howl about gays, and especially sex education, is shameful, hypocritical, and completely counterproductive.

  • @Poole1Dan Rick Santorum HAS no positives. He'd reinstate DADT, defend DOMA, compares being gay to bestiality and is across the board fiscally deplorable. And I'm not PERSONALLY fond of abortion either but the bottom line is that what you an I PERSONALLY might think about abortion, our belief has absolutely ZERO business being law and encroaching on any woman's right to complete autonomy.

  • @Purrrple Well, I'm not nearly as liberal as you are, nor am I gay. I'm a Conservatarian (a mix of a conservative and a libertarian), and I really like Santorums views on the economy, healthcare, energy independence, etc. I'm guessing you'd completely disagree with me there, but to me, Santorum is overall a very good presedential candidate who unfortunately has some fucked up views on social issues.

  • @Poole1Dan That's the prblem. You'd have to be an idiot to not see that his fucked-up ideas are the ones he'd focus on if elected president. And from what I've read of his economic and healthcare ideas, etc, he's pretty much GOP status Quo; Climate change a myth, tax the poor, give the rich tax breaks, universal healthcare is UnAmerican, etc. I wouldn't call those policies good for your country.

  • @Purrrple I'm not in the mood to get into an argument over all those issues, so I'll leave you with this: the GOP is a hodge-podge mess of conservatives and moderates that has no idea whats its going to do on any given issue. The last real conservative leader the GOP had was Ronald Reagan. If you think the GOP as its currently established is your enemy, then you have no idea what you're in for when conservatives and libertarians take over the government in the coming elections.

  • @Poole1Dan There's no argument to get INTO here dear. I'm not in the wrong about the Republican party or their new Tea Party backers. And if you want to cite Ronald Reagan, the man who refused to even acknowledge the AIDS crisis until his 7th year of Presidency and even then only to crack an anti-gay joke about it, as the last true conservative leader, you're only proving my point. Conservatism is the human equaivalent of sticking your head in the sand. Pro-status quo, anti-adaptation.

  • @Purrrple ". I'm not in the wrong about the Republican party or their new Tea Party backers."

yes you are. To summarize: Climate change is a tutatology and a myth; there's been no global warming for the last 15 years and only a 1 degree increase over the last 8000 years. Most conservatives want to abolish the income tax system, not tax the poor. We want tax breaks for EVERYONE. And look at Britain and Canada. Their healthcare systems have death panels and inferior treatment.

  • @Poole1Dan No death panels here in europe and no tent cities either!

america is a shit hole with the WORST health care system in the western world!

As China emerges, I with the rest of the world will enjoy watching america collapse!

  • @8888oo8888 As for the rest of your comment...Americans have the highest rates of cancer survival in the world and are far more likely to survive other vicious diseases (like diabetes) then European or Canadian citizens. This is because in America, 90% of healthcare is spent on the elderly. As Jesus once said, it is not the healthy that need a doctor, but the sick. in countries with SPH, sure there's a better primary care system, but thats fucking meaningless to those who are badly sick!

  • @8888oo8888 Also, Americans have the highest rates of cancer survival in the world and are far more likely to survive other vicious diseases (like diabetes) then European or Canadian citizens. This is because in America, 90% of healthcare is spent on the elderly. As Jesus once said, it is not the healthy that need a doctor, but the sick. in countries with SPH, sure there's a better primary care system, but thats fucking meaningless to those who are badly sick!

  • @8888oo8888 Lastly, China may yet surpass America as the new superpower, but thats only if America continues to go down the path of totalitarianism and collectivism (IE, progressivism). Britain did the same thing in the late 1800's and early 1900's and gave way to both the USA and Germany. China will never surpass America if the USA embraces individualism, limited government, and common sense policies.

  • @Poole1Dan america with it's over-inflated ego is no superpower, and never won a war without the french. Even Vietnam killing 58,000 americans, sent them home defeated!

The reason americans need guns, is they can't fight with their fists!

As China emerges, america falls, I and the rest of the world will enjoy watching it happen!

  • @Poole1Dan correction: 1 degree DECREASE in the last 8000 years.

  • @Purrrple And believe me, I could go into so much more detail than that. Conservative policies are, on the whole, the anectdote to the tyranny of progressivism. The only little problem is too many conservatives are hypocritical asswipes when it comes to social issues like gay marriage, sex ed, etc. Only on those issues can you call them pro-status quo and anti-adaptation. Otherwise, you'rre just plain wrong.

    Good day.

  • @Purrrple I would like to point out to you also Rick Santorum only this week publicly and proudly stated in a televised interview that he believes GLBT people should have no rights at all, period. Defend THAT.

  • golden!

  • The Republicans just keep losing more and more of their reality based members. The party is completely given over to the nut-base.

  • We need more politicians like this.

  • THANK YOU, Alan Simpson! Thank you.

  • WOW! Keep it real, old school, lol

  • This man is spot on. I wish there were more Republican and Democrats like Simpson.

  • I'd vote for more republicans if Alan Simpson was on the ticket. No one's for abortion, it's just a personal choice to be made. I don't believe in homophobia, just those who disagree with the homosexuality to be in existance.

  • @kmelfina You disagree with the homosexuality to be in existance? WTF does that mean? I'm here to tell you--it's in existance.

  • @MaryJesusJoseph I meant that I disagree with people who think that homosexuality isn't real, but treat it as a sickness that can be cured into heterosexuality.

  • @kmelfina I hope your stupidity is curable too.

  • @VoteYou for the record, I'm gay and accepting it as "not a disease". The previous statements are for the non-Alan Simpson Republicans constantly focusing on LGBTs in a negative way. My apologies if you misinterpreted my jumbled sentences.

  • @kmelfina oh I see what happen there :)

  • Comment removed

  • Good video... GOP is so fragmented... Liberals will get 4 more years *loveit*

  • @lynda514 Liberals didn't have the last 4 years anyway.

  • Simpson is an asshole GOP loyalist to the core, but he is an honest dude, I'll give him that. He will call a spade a spade.

  • I don't agree with him on abortion but I like his comments overall. The GOP is definitely too beholden to the religious right.

  • Since Santorum's name was mentioned, I must type in santorum.com into google several times.

  • Spectacular! The comfort of being an octogenarian is being able to say just exactly how you feel.
