The difference between the two is that poison must be inhaled/ingested to work, while venom must be specifically injected to work . Therefore,since snakes inject VENOM, if a rodent was bit by a snake, the venomed rodent can be ingested as long as there are no ulcers/wounds/cuts inside your mouth/stomach/body for the venom in the mouse to enter your bloodstream.
