  • These GPS sound like the Ananova News.

  • You gotta love though the way this system 'pronounces' the names sometimes. Barclay Street sounds like broccoli street. And there's a few others. ANy idea as to what software they're using?

  • I think it's kind of convienent. Hated it at first, but i've grown to like it. Come check out our channel... we did a video called "the top 10 bus pissoffs"

  • I live in South Bend, In they don't have them here! I wish they did!

  • I prefer the voice of Toronto's announcer. This one sounds too...electric.

  • OMG! It's Crystal from the YRT AAs!

  • Being legally blind, these automated stop announcements are incredibly helpful. I wish Metro in Seattle would get their shit together and start using them. It'd be MUCH better if they used a real voice as opposed to mechanovoice as well.

  • Try coming to Boston. The original automated announcements were incredibly helpful, announcing everything that a blind person would need to know - the subways, connecting bus routes, street names, points of interests, etc. But somewhere in 2005, they all got switched to a dull voice with far less information. For example, what used to be "Porter Square - transfer to 83, 96, Red Line and commuter rail" became "Porter Square - bus, subway, and commuter rail connection".

  • oh, I HATE these things. They're soooo annnoying.

  • I know, most of the time you can barely hear them but once you hear them, they drive you and the driver nuts

  • Looks very like the one we have here in Stockholm. Just change "STOP" to "Stannar". ;-)

  • Ah, the electric lady.

  • York Region Transit/Viva a transit operator in York Region which is just above Toronto have a similar Automated Announcement techology for the Viva buses.

  • York Region Transit/Viva a transit in York Region which is just above Toronto have a similar Automated Announcement techology for the Viva buses but it's likey with a different voice announcer.

  • no it's the same voice :) Crystal

  • toronto has the same technology but with a different voice announcer.

  • Seems lacking compared to similar systems in the United States. We mostly use real recorded voices for a more appealing affect.

  • piece of shit system. very annoying craps out and never works

  • Seems kind of annoying
