can someone tell me how to recover lost folders after i have rcovered my c drive?

i got a virus and my computer would not start so i had to insert the recovery disk and restart widows so i lost all my work.

A blue screen came up saying somethimg like "begining physical memory dump" and after that it wouldn't start up so i had to put the recovery disk in and reboot the entire system.

do you now if my lost work is still on it? maby is it in the registry somewhere?

hmmmmm......i think u have to do windoes recovery but its pretty hard to make work.

its time like these make u wanna have an external hardrive.

I have a hard drive from my old desktop pc.. It came to a point where i couldn't log on anymore because it was saying that i had a damaged or corrupted file in the windows32 folder.. I couldn't fix it because my pc doesn't boot up properly due to damaged IDE connector on the motherboard.. So i got a new desktop, I wanna recover the files from the hard drive, but can't seem to because the files were in folders on the desktop and not in other locations of the hard drive.

From your knowledge on the subject, I take it that you use Windows. So, plug in the old hard drive to the new PC, (without cutting the IDE this time ;p) & boot up. Open "My Computer" & go to D:\Documents and Settings\BlaGGah\desktop (assuming that the old hard drive has gotten the letter "D" & that your current windows user is BlaGGah.) That is for XP, for Vista is D:\Documents and Settings\BlaGGah\Contacts\desk­top I hope that helped a bit. __________ Opinions r like a55e5, every1 has 1...
