Great Info.. hope you can answer this: I want to trademark 2 words for my product but these 2 words is part of a trademark that has 4 words. I.E.: trademark 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 and my potential trademark would be 1 - 4.

Can I still trademark 1 -4?

I can't really comment without knowing all of the details, but if she has a registered trademark then she is presumed to be the exclusive owner.
