  • OI MONKEYS! don't swing on the gate! makes it drop and whoever owns it has to come and adjust it !apart from that, nice one chaps, got some nice lanes in the south, but Wales'd be a fun place to go.... might take a while in a 2.5 NAD......

  • Hi!

That is a awesome trail! I was there for years ago(8?), Im a swede but lived in Bristol for a while, I drove up with some guys from Bristol offroad something, I had a Motero/Pajero diesel and rear locker, BUT street tires! 235/75-15

I wonder if any one have more pics from here?

I live in the States now so.. Miss UK a tons!! Glenn

  • @david880brown - What would your choice of vehicle be then? Not many would crawl up those rocks with out specialist tuning.

  • @rockkikars - just a perfectly standard vehicle well driven to be honest. VW Transporters and 2CVs have been driven up there.

  • bang on.

  • Try that with a new land rover. =)

  • @lgarvey - I do, currently in a Disco 3.

  • @widget3 didn't think new landrovers are/were as mobile. I know someone who tried similar whit a freelander and the engine started smoking.

  • Land Rover Defender = Badly built rust buckets

  • @david880brown - and unreliable. Now what's your point again?!

  • i was wondering, at the part at 30 seconds i would use second low with center diff locked but is this right because would it be rock crawling so 1 st gear would be more approperate?

  • @mollyandtiger - second gear becuse too much torque is transmitted in first gear - leading to wheel spin. However the first car is a heavily laden 4.0 litre V8 Auto, so 1st gear was used by default.

  • now that's what you call traction controll, full marks for the vid, but score revoked for swinging on the gate- dosen't take too many people to do that for the post to come loose!

  • really enjoyed your video, would love to tag along on one of your trips next time you go greenlaning. ive done strata and llanddewi a few times, havent done brecon or the gap yet, thanks, andy

  • get a 12v Kettle :)

  • Enjoyed the videos mate but why does everybody spoil them by adding music there is nothing better than hearing the sound of a good V8 on form cheers.

  • Wikid vid mate. Could you please tell me the location of this lane please I'd like to visit. Cheers, Rob

  • very nice video of a very interesting laning tour I guess...

unfortunately we do not have such tracks in germany. (or I don´t know them)...

    Cheers and happy rovering:-)

  • i loved green lanes now its harder to do why cant we have fun anymore nice to see the 4 wheel and 2 wheel group having a lough thats what it should be all about

  • It's nice to see all those lanes in use. Recognise most of them. Also nice to see a 50th Defender in use off-tarmac :)

  • Very nice ! Greenlaning as it should be done... grts from Belgium

  • unsuitable for motorvehicles

    i like it lol

  • @cagmito76 i keep getting told that signs like that by law are only guide lines but office idiots play by their own rules and enforce it as law?

  • what a complete bunch of fun :) love that rag topped 90 would like that configuration for mine fed up of the truck cab,,,,,, anyone got a decent full canvas for sale with sticks? :)

  • What a sad country we live in where people are not allowed to have fun anymore and our police can issue S59 notices with no judge or jury.

  • brill vid is the gap road open this march

  • Looks doubtful, Brecon Beacons National Park and Powys County Council are clear that it carries no vehicular rights as a Restricted Byway - more significantly they are unlikely to repair the washout on the south side, making it impassable.

  • wht a shame i dont live to far from there neither dont seem to be anywhere in the neath area to go sarn helen might be closed this year i heard

  • There anywhere I can get roadbooks or maps of byways like this and the others you feature in your videos? I've tried searching the internet but it never returns any decent results

  • Each local authority holds definitive maps of the rights of way, some are on line (like Hampshire) as are the TROs (Traffic Restriction Orders) which are the temporary and permanent closures.

Sadly there is no single reference, In a way this is half the fun.

Or you can start with an OS map, join a local club, join the Green Lane Association and you can use Trailwise the on-line green lane mapping tool.

It's taken me 20 years of research and experience to know what is open, safe and scenic:)

  • Thanks very much for the advice you've been a great help. If you ever see a newish silver shogun out and about then you'll know who it is lol

  • Very cool! :)

"unsuitable for motor vehicles" Except for Land Rover's hihi :) ;)

  • Gap Road, used to be interesting before they filled in all the holes....

  • was this at windy gap brecon,

  • Yes

  • nicely done lol like the kellykettle i got 1 my self :P

  • I found the video pretty good place and the music very appropriate, would like to Esab scorpionracing closed it? Greetings from Brazil:)

  • Hello Brazil! Yes, Scorpion is closed.

  • Great video, awesome vehicles, heading to Wales at Christmas time (from Australia), hope to do some driving whilst I am there!!

  • VERY GOOD,Wonderful VIDEO AND MUSIC :)

  • I need help.. Why buy a 90 when they are loud, noisy and not very comftable inside. The interior trim is very basic even with the new ones. And the rivited body work looks awefull. Why buy one of these when you can have a Toyota landcruiser. Very cumfy quiet and awesome off road. i just dont understand.? and you can pay alot of money for these 90ties. please help me.?????

  • It's a Land Rover thing, if you have to ask you wouldn't understand:)

  • precisely. It's built into you. Also they are the best 4x4 around and will go on for donkeys years. Also most things can be fixed with a piece of stuff laying on the ground in a field :P My first car is a landy and I wouldn't change it for anything even though it's dreadful on fuel.

  • Comment removed

  • @mattieb0i. you do need help! why mess around with a 4x4 when a 2x1 offers so much more performance at much less cost and without the big damage to byways. with so much more performance you could even get fit and enter an enduro, get your ass out of your toyota and get some exercise.

  • great video, what kind of Camcorder are you using and what kind of rig are you using to attach it to the vehicle?

    James

  • With sound, at last! Both cameras are Panasonic SDR SW20s. Using a suction mount to the bodywork, windscreen and a magnetic mount to the chassis.
