What you are saying is totally not true. I followed up soccer very closely during those days, and nothing bad was said against Yugoslavia. Who would be the 3 Satans? Germany has a very close relationship with Iran (even their natinoal team and Bayern Munich came to Iran a few years ago) and we had nothing against Yugoslavia. And about USA, they said " we are playing the people of USA and we have no problem with them," but after defeating them the officials did say that we defeated Great Satan.

Im pretty sure they couldnt'ev won the world cup, They were quite good. If Mijatovic didnt miss that penalty in round 16 against holland, they would'ev won. I wonder why they were put in sotcha weird formation in that match, it was pretty much everybody in the back with only one man upfront,being Mijatovic. Thats why they didnt have any serious changes, and holland on the other hand was so aggressive.
