Forgive my ignorance - who's Pastorale is this? It has a distinctive Bach signature to it, but I am not aware of a Bach piece called Pastorale. Around 5.00, I heard some quotations of das Wohltemperierte Klavier. Nice music, that's for sure.
When I was young, one of my brother like jazz and the other one like classical music.
So I get use to those types of music. Then when I listen Loussier the first time playing Toccata from Bach it was the same piece of the classical. I fall in love with Loussier's jazz interpretation of classical and stil 35 years later.
Words seem too weak to follow this act. I'd mention the excellent intonation during the piano/base duet and counterpoint, the relaxed confidence of the cadence, and say thank you. Thank you so much for this lovely opus and this lovely performance.
@datachip i agree! i think its worth mentioning the intonation in the solo as well, especially when he plays the series of major and minor thirds. Truly incredible musicians all of them!
loussier è una cosa favolosa, un genio. Turosov un bassista di creatità egregia, ottimo strumentista.Grazie.

Yes, that's definitely the theme from the fugue in C minor. And then a bit of Khachaturian later. Great!
