  • Billy J Kramer is my nans 1st Cousin :) x

  • Very interesting and telling; history here from the guy that was around when the Beatles hit it big, very, very big.

  • Everyone who used to deal with Beatles looks proud no matter how intense it was, so they happilly tell almost the details from it... They're blessed..

  • I love The Beatles Check out The Beatle songs I love to sing !

  • wow j in his name, genius idea.

  • @porridgeeveryday John told him to have the J in his name

  • Thx for putting this up, really great. I was there when it was happening. Nice Memories.

  • Billy J Kramer is my nan Jean's cousin :) never met him tho x

  • Wow, this sounds great! Had the pleasure of meeting BJK a few months ago, but I was too starstruck to start up any great conversation myself, 'though still had a great time. yeah

  • @zfloid44 Billy J Kramer is my nan Jean's cousin :) never met him tho x

  • He looks awesome. Great song - loved it by both BJK & the Dakotas, and the Beatles! Such great memories....thankGod for the British invasion!

  • A marvelous moment in pop music history. Mr. Kramer's voice here has all the lustre and spirit of the "Dakotas" period three decades earlier, the back-up band is excellent, and it is a pleasure to actually see the gentleman belonging to the classic radio sound of Cousin Brucie. Thanks for putting it up.

  • This is great fun to see and listen to--I wish I was there. Always loved this recording in the 60's. A great time.

  • very nice !!!and very interesting trivia !!! long live the Bitish Invasion !!!!..Lyndloo...

  • Interesting. I didn't know "Bad To Me" was written in Barcelona, at Epstein's behest. Lennon's tendency for pleasing Brian in "liitle" things like this suggest that he was both grateful to, and fond of Brian. But -unsure as to how to deal with Brian's rapport for him- uneasy to show it. So he resorted to giving Brian a hard time, to be tough, while at the same time giving in to his requests, where he could. Brian must have quietly noticed this contradiction -and understood that John meant well!

  • The mc on this video is dj cousin bruce morrow who had sid bernstein as a manager at some moment sid booked the beatles at carneige hall and shea stadium ] ..

  • @Merseyrock the Beatles said the reason they wrote extra songs for other bands and people was because they loved songwriting, they thought it was fun back then, and helping out a friends/ group they admired. There has never been any proof Epstein and any relationship toward the Beatles other than manager to band. professional. The Beatles tried to please Epstein because they owed it to him after he got them a record contract and media attention- he was their boss too in a way so they listend

  • @4FabBEATLES Thanks! for commenting. I didn't know this to be partly the origin for many of the extra songs that they wrote. When speaking of Brian and John's "relationship," I did not mean to suggest any personal involvement as such - that would be purely speculative, I agree, without any proof. I was making an observation on their interaction from a psychological standpoint, given the apparent strain between them, as reported. It is good that you brought this up, so that I could clarify...

  • @Merseyrock glad we cleared that up. theres a BBC documentary called 'Songs The Beatles gave away" that talks about extra songs they wrote and gave to other musicians/ bands with commentary by The Beatles and the other musicians the songs were given to as well as clips of each by the artists each song was given to. that's how I know. as for Epstein, there are small bits of factual info about him, but mostly memories and rumors, so I agree its best not to spread rumors or assume things.

  • Great song! John and Paul also wrote "How do ya do it" for Gerry and the Pacemakers, and a "World without love" for Peter and Gordon, and "From me to you" for Del Shannon, and of course this great song! The blokes were song writing supermen! Great stuff!

  • Sorry but John and Paul didn't write How Do You Do It .... it was written by Mitch Murray

They did write From Me to You ... but that was for themselves

Absolutely agree though that they wrote hundreds of fantastic songs

  • I should have read further down ... you already addressed what I wrote ... sorry for the duplication!

  • Wrong ... "How Do You Do It" was written by Mitch Murray. "A World Without Love" was written by Paul, but like many of the songs each wrote independently, this one was attributed to Lennon/McCartney. "From Me to You" was written as a Beatles' release and hit the charts in mid-March, 1963 ... it was not written for Del Shannon ... he simply recorded a cover version and it was released in June of 1964.

  • mitch murray wrote how do you do it

  • Very interesting story. Thanks for posting!

  • Nice story, great tune.

    RIP John Winston Lennon 10/09/1940-12/08/1980

  • DID YOU KNOW: At Brian's request, John wrote this song whilst on their "infamous" holiday in Spain.

*Star and rainbow flies across screen*

    "...The More You Know..."

    From the Playboy Interviews:

LENNON: "Bad To Me" I wrote for Billy J Kramer. Specifically for Billy J Kramer. I was on holiday with Brian Epstein in Spain...

And while he was out on the tiles one night, or lying asleep with a hangover one afternoon, I remember playing him the song "Bad To Me."
