Dragon Force certainly is talented, but I think the main reason people don't like them is because they write songs that all sound way too similar. If they wrote some slower, yet still technical material, they would probably be more respected.

Once upon a time, there was a band called Dragonforce. They prioritized speed in their playing and garnered heavy underground attention thanks to their guitarists.

After being featured in Guitar Hero 3, they saw a sales and popularity jump of astronomical proportions. After getting tons of live gigs, they got TOO used to it, and started to play drunk. They then immediately got famous for being shit live.

I dont really understand why some people have such a vendetta against Dragonforce. if you dont like them dont listen to them. Im not a huge Df fan but this video is pretty damn good. It always sounds better when actually in the venue and not a recording of it, and even then the vocals are, okay, but the drumming is perfect and the guitar/keys are pretty damn solid considering what they play.

@MrMetalHeadGamer i saw them in OKC in 2006, in what was basically a cinder block shack with a tin roof. word is they had a lot of sound issues then. i know it wasn't the venue because all that remains opened and they sounded way better in terms of sound quality and technical precision. then again, DF used to get totally wasted for shows in those days. i met them after and sam was completely trashed, hanging out by a dumpster with some girls. herman was all 'man it smells like shit'

I've seen DragonForce live a bunch of times and they were sweet every time... i mean they made a few mistakes but their songs are hard and they didn't make any more mistakes than other bands, like 80% of songs ran flawlessly and the other mistakes weren't like a big deal and those songs were all still good overall. i guess I would say every time I've seen them the mixing has been been poor for the first couple of songs but they usually fix it by the end, its cuz of who is playing before them
