A green light is always about to turn amber anyway, the reason why there is an amber is to allow for this. And a car jumping through an amber at speed is inherently more dangerous than a cyclist doing it, not that any cars could complain here since one was sitting on the crossing and another joined.
The point in this video is really pushing the amber though, cyclists seems not that fast, and usually for us braking is an issue.

Without knowing the specific details of the case you refer to I can't give an acurate comment suffice to say that I DONT condone people going through red lights on whatever vehicle they chose to ride/ drive. Someone going through a red light on a pushbike though does not mean you should use violence against them. Look, to solve the problem what all countries should have is plain clothed police on bikes. If a cyclist goes through a red, Fine them, if a motorist does the wrong thing fine them.

Cars produce fine particle pollution, carbon monoxide, and cancerous pollution, I was being conservative with the figures. I accept that at the moment people sometimes need cars to transport around heavy things, but to transport just yourself, along traffic jams at 15 kms an hour (the average speed of a car in London peak hour) is plain dumb. What is worse is the people who do this and then try to stop people ridding their bicycle instead.

Amber— this warns traffic that it should stop unless it is unsafe to do so. In the UK it is legal to pass through an amber light, as the phase exists to warn drivers not yet at the junction that they will have to stop.

Biggest idiot is the guy on the bike filming this. Vehicles should have signs on the back for thick cyclists, one points to the right and says "overtaking side" one point to the left inside lane and says "suicide". As long as cyclists think its fine to undertake vehicles who are about to turn left. and are signalling to do so.....their choice. I like how this clip just jump cuts as the filmaker is about to jump the red lights, news flash, the highway code applies to you too..surprise surprise!

A green light is always about to turn amber anyway, the reason why there is an amber is to allow for this. And a car jumping through an amber at speed is inherently more dangerous than a cyclist doing it, not that any cars could complain here since one was sitting on the crossing and another joined.
The point in this video is really pushing the amber though, cyclists seems not that fast, and usually for us braking is an issue.

If you mean me, im NOT the one with the camera here, and its NOT my video. Most cyclists including myself would love to cycle in Amsterdam, its cycling heaven. I for one dont worry to much about being hit by a bicycle, however a car weighs a good deal more and can do more damage. Amsterdam's seperated good cycleways are a dream.

Well the Little guy often rides a bicycle as transport.. When it comes to transport, the little guy, is the pedestrian and the cyclist because they are the most vulnerable. Without knowing the specific details of the case you refer to I can't give an acurate comment suffice to say that I DONT condone people going through red lights on whatever vehicle they chose to ride/ drive. Someone going through a red light on a pushbike though does not mean you should use violence against them. Look, to solve the problem what all countries should have is plain clothed police on bikes. If a cyclist goes through a red, Fine them, if a motorist does the wrong thing fine them.

See comment below, but I would like to add that people should be knowledgeable of the actual traffic laws in their country before they criticise the actions of other road users. I dont condone going through red lights. It is dangerous for whoever does it. People saying that it is illegal for cyclists to Lane split, are incorrect as riding on the left hand side (right hand side in some countries who drive on the right) of stationary traffic is legal in practically every country I know.

However, it annoys me also when car drivers go past me really close, cut me off, get the shits if Im in the right lane because funny enough like them, I need to turn right. I have to say though that it would seem your drivers are better towards bikes then the ones in Australia, we have the worst drivers in the world I think.

The only idiot I saw was the bird on the ped. Most of it is just so so London traffic. You are always gonna get cut up when filtering , two wheelers are by thier nature hard to see , especially in heavy traffic where the motorist needs eyes on the back of his head. You are allowed to pass on the left of stationary traffic, particularly if there is a signalled bike lane.. When he was passing on the left the traffic was stationary or close to it. What was actually poor riding in my opinion was when he passed the people getting off he bus so closely. Look, I myself would not ride a bike like that, but, I dont think people who have never riden a bike on the roads really know what its like.

Don't send email to my youtube account calling me a plum, because I tape my bike rides. I have only ever put one film on youtube (not this one), and that was to test out uploading things on youtube. If you bothered to read the description you would have seen that. As for the future, I may video tape my rides. Only by doing this will people get some idea of what its like to ride a bike in traffic.

Now, I can say 100% that what you are saying is rubbish. 1st, in places like London, bikes are faster than cars if you dont believe me, look up TOPGEARS race across London. Second cars cause the premature death of over 1000 people simply through air pollution. Bikes can filter and they have a right to do so. Private cars simply dont belong in Large Densley populated areas, and because of simple laws of fluid dynamics get trapped in traffic going nowhere, spewing out cancerous crap in the air.

No, but topgear is a pro car show, and they raced a pushbike, car, boat and public transport, across the centre of London, in rush hour, the bike won. This experiment has been repeated numerously in different urban centres with the same result. You get gridlock because cars take up too much space in a city.
As for the pollution, sure pollution comes from other sources, but do the research and you will find that the statement I made was correct.

Cars produce fine particle pollution, carbon monoxide, and cancerous pollution, I was being conservative with the figures. I accept that at the moment people sometimes need cars to transport around heavy things, but to transport just yourself, along traffic jams at 15 kms an hour (the average speed of a car in London peak hour) is plain dumb. What is worse is the people who do this and then try to stop people ridding their bicycle instead.

I drive in London every day and i consider myself to be a good driver, aware of everything around me. But, we all make mistakes and no offence matey but some cyclists are out looking for trouble and confrontation. I know this, i see it all the time. I went through a green light last week and almost hit a cyclist who jumped a red and guess who the wanker was. You got it, me. We all make mistakes so chill out and put up with it.
