Put on a trenchcoat and fight some conspiracies. Get experience and level up abilities. Will you pick rifles or computers? Don't pick swimming because it's fairly useless. It's a shooter and a role-playing game. The levels are ugly and everyone looks the same. We're not the same Ion Storm that made Daikatana. Our games are good and they stay on schedule. We made a sequel that no-one liked 'cos we dumbed it down too much 'cos we're thick.

You may start hitting me, but IMO the new game (Human reolution) is kinda better than the original. I played a lot in original Deus and still play it (on my laptop). The new game tells a story much closer to our own live period. I't very likely that in 30 or so years we'll be making mechanical devices which could replace human limbs, etc. Even now the progress is fascinating.

@Fattboy678 Half-Life 1 had better animations, AI, and combat. It released in late 1998. Not significantly better, since back then it was minor, but Deus Ex was a step back from that. Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption, also from 2000, has better animation too.
But my point was more than animation. It is flawed but no where game breaking since it is an old game. However, the AI is terrible, with everyone running around like headless chickens. Then combat is the weakest aspect of the game.
@AMOKfaction You think I don't know that? Though, I don't think DXIW haters will blame UE2 for DXIW problems but the developers. Half of the problems of that game, for example, are probable from the engine. Small maps? Engine limitation at the time.
However, AI and combat, specifically, in Unreal was fine. It's just how they set up Deus Ex that made the combat the standard FPSRPG skill number based aiming (which ruins the FPS part) and the AI run around in circles when they are almost dead.

The combat is flawed, and for a game about letting you play how you want to, it doesn't work that well when you have to waste bullets to kill enemies. Take the subway before Hell's Kitchen. The NSF and UNATCO troops are fighting each other. They are all running like headless chickens and its difficult to shoot the NSF guys when the UNATCO guys run into your shots.
I wonder if the musician also made the track for the Unreal 2000 Techdemo. The flutes at 1:55 are similar. Besides that: Yeah, makes me want to install it again. So there, that's what you liked to hear. ;)
@safiullahhussaini I have to disagree with Fallout 3 being the hypothetical grandchild of Deus ex. Fallout 3 is an Oblivion clone with a few classic Fallout mechanics (poorly) implemented, I really wouldn't compare the two.

@Tytanized if you're saying that my vision of Deus Ex is biased because of the luv/noastalgia I've for this game, the answer is: no.
Deus Ex:3 brings nothing fresh to video games, if you're watching closely at the gameplay its remake of Deus Ex in a Splinter Cell setting.
Deus Ex on the other hand you could move objects to use them to get past obstacles, you didn't have a health bar, but legs, arms, chest etc.
DE was fresh still is, DE3 will get older sooner than DE.

I've always been fond of this tune. I have it and a few others from Deus Ex.
However, mine sounds just like the one from the game's main menu... this one sounds different than the one I got. Regardless, still good to hear.
