  • aww just fell outa my chair and jized in my shorts wow hate to meet him on the highway

  • @TheRaybanman1 Believe or not is not that hard to put a v8 in a ranger you just have to have a little knowlegde, and no it is not smog legal but down here in florida is not required.

  • awesome truck man!!! i have a 93 myself, all original but i wanna start beefing it up!!! your truck is inspirational!!!

  • @JoeyTraumatic Thank you!!

  • me and my brother have almost the same motor in a 64 falcon and its a mean powerful machine

  • hey where did you get your fuel cell? i just put a 351w in my 91 4x4 ranger and the transfer case rubs on the stock tank

  • hey man i got my truck running its awesome! it had some bugs to work out of it but its all pretty much done. But get this its making the same noise yours does in this video, that whining vaccum noise. What was making that noise on yours?

  • i was thinkin of puttin a v8 in my ranger its an 86 4x4 i was just wondering if u made ur own headers

  • wow your wiring is a mess. could use a little tidying up. just sayin.

  • @Dangels11 wow your timing is a mess. This video was shot 3 years ago when i was building it. watch my other vids. just sayin.

  • Calypso.... mmmm.. (drools)

  • i got a 98 ranger 4x4 an i want to stick a 302 in it what all did you have change around to fit it in the truck let me know thanks

  • @crazyasscowboy09 go to harwoodperformance website they sell an e-book on how to do it but is not that bad. Most of the stuff you need is engine swap mounts, tranny mounts, wiring and mechanical knowledge if you are building you motor from ground up and if you are doing an efi setup, bigger radiator is a plus.

    Good luck

  • hey bud i got pretty much the same truck as you, its a 93 ranger with a 331 stroker motor in it. everything is pretty much done on it i'm just stuck on the wiring, can you give me some tips on how you did ur wiring? thanks

  • @MudBogginBoi94

What you need is this downloadable manual from harwood performance which helped me alot. The manual I believe is $25 and for the time and headaches it saves I think is worth it!! Search it up cuz youtube don't let me type it here Good luck and If you have more questions let me know I'll try to help as much as I can!

  • that is a beast

  • @graffwriter17 thanks!!

  • are all 1993 rangers with bucket seats ...i want a three seater

  • You sir, have gave a Ford Ranger a new name haha

  • i also have a 93 ranger was going to put a 302 in but i was wondering if there is a conversion kit or did you hand fabricate the engine mounts and such??

  • @lovegamehatecats the engine mounts are for L&L products and they fit very nice. I believe a set will cost around $120.00.

  • @302project ight thanks man

  • i love it..

it just doesnt sound as clean as my 03 cobra terminator motor..its in my 01 ranger..

  • awesome - the frame at the back looks real niice - what did you do to get it lookin so good? canada has salt and makes everything look like shit with surfice rust. bought the truck used so it already had it on the frame

  • @c6mas I sandblasted the frame then painted with por-15.

    Thanks!!!

  • How is that even possible? I have a 1996 ford ranger 3.0 v6 automatic and I was wanting a bigger engine. Maybe a small block but I didnt know if it would fit..maybe new engine mounts?

  • yo bro i was planning on buying a ranger soon and and was going to put a 302 boss in mine i was just wondering how much all that cost and if u paid for the work or did it yourself btw sounds and looks nice good job

  • @koriyoaustin Thank you for your comment! For the whole motor itself(the boss302 block) was around $10, 000. I did everything that you see on the truck including building the engine. Good luck with yours!!!

  • you wouldnt be able to keep that son of a bitch straight with the bed on it let alone driving it without it

  • goin home on the 6th loko ,,And my HOnda or should i say ur nightmare ?,,,just got the motor done ( fully built ) ayyyyyy papaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,,te voy a comer eseee culooooooo ,,jaajjajaja..get ready ,,im almost done !!! tell ur boy yordani or whatever his name is !! lol

showin some luv for u loko...

sincerly : el muchacho el diabloooo,,,,waaaaaa

  • @dicmely dime muchacho del diablo what's up homie. When are you gonna stop by the house bitch. And what's up with your honda?

  • what the hell you should prepare people a little better. now i gotta change my britches.

  • @MrJotchB lol

  • hahaha personally i would never waste my money on a ranger but i gotta admit....that thing is pretty fuckin sweet!

  • That sucker sounds pretty mean! What's she run?

  • @71Merc Thanks! I never got a chance to take it to the track.

  • thats a solid clean job. looks good

  • its amazing how much room is really in those compartments. Its like Ford wanted this to happen but people wanted a gas sipping pickup

  • Awesome truck! Spend a weekend on that wiring.. it will be show quality!

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the name of the color of the truck?

  • @andre555555 It's green but I don't know exactly what type of green but the truck came with some side stickers/stripes from factory but as you can see I took them of. It looked gay as fuck.

  • Comment removed

  • @killercobrastang It really did! thx a lot man! Iv waited like a year to find out

  • hey im looking to do this to my ranger but i have been reading that the 347's have an oil burning problem. is this true or have the companies fixed the problem with the kits . thnks

  • hey man message me about how you did the swap because i would like to do the same thing to a ford ranger well thanks if you do

  • i got a ford 460 ci motor from my '79 f250, would it fit in my '84 ranger??

  • what pcm did u use'?

  • nice job man, check out my video

  • fucking clean mam real clean!

  • Hear the whisle when the engine is at idol. Fix the Vacuum leak.

  • umm.. that's not a leak. Trickflow intakes does that

  • @rodney1066 thats is both the intake and mass air try to get air

  • what rims?

  • Do you ever go to Tower Shops in Davie with the Ranger? I'd love to see in person sometime.

  • I've been there a couple of times, but never with the truck. I'll let you know when I'll drop by with the truck which i'm about to finish.

  • the trucks sounds relly nice!

  • looks like you had some fun wiring your driver side ;) , can you help me and tell me how you did that , and how you relocated your oil filter ?

  • Look at your inbox.

  • i had more fun in a 79 datsun king kab with a mildly built 350, the truck coulda been a slot car if i took the time to do the suspension right, too bad back at 14 all you wanna do is roast the tires hahaha

  • yeah it's fun lol.

  • damn that's clean

  • thanks!

  • I heard to put a v8 in a ranger you have to relocate the oil filter.

  • you have to, due to the engine block being to close to the chasis

  • @302project how would u relocate it, im stumped on this one

  • i was just fixing to ask the same thing, seeing as an oilfilter location is cast into the block i dont see any way to re locate it short of recasting the black. enlighten us both while youre at it cause i wanna know too!

  • You need to buy an adapter. Check out L&Lproductsdotcom and search for part number 040180 that's the one I have. Works perfect!

    Good luck guys!

  • Dude you have inspired me, I have a 1994 ranger. I have had it sence 96 everybody makes fun of me for keeping it. Wait until the next time they see it.

  • Keep it. And make it a v8!!!!!!!

  • did you just pull the wiring and ecu out of a mustang or something and install it in the ranger?

  • I bought the wiring and the computer on ebay. And yes, they are from an 88-93 mustang

  • Sounds bad ass dude... I want to put a 347 stroker in a little mazda miata to make a bad ass play toy

  • how did you crack your block?

  • I really don't know but there are some of these blocks that can't handle more than 300 hp. This block was a stock seasoned block. I guess I was out of luck lol

  • what cam are you running? it sounds sic, im in the process of building a 347 for my 83 4x4

  • what are you gonna do abt the drive shaft?i have a 95 ranger ext cab and 5.0 layin around

  • I have a custom driveshaft

  • Sweat. Too bad about the breakage.

  • nice sounding ranger. i have a 93 ranger that im about to do a 5.0 and tranny swap. its aalready a 5 speed so looking for a efi 5.0 and 5 speed out of a gt. how hard was it to switch all of it over?

  • If you have mechanical knowledge is not hard at all. This was my first engine swap and went very well. The hardest thing was modifying the 5.0 harness with the ranger's harness but when I look back it not hard at all lol. Good luck with your project!

  • why would u switch to a 302 boss, wouldnt the 347 have more power?

  • the 347 stroker that I used was from a stock 302 2 bolt main block. And it cracked on 3 mains going towards the camshaft. The 302 boss block is an aftermarket 4 bolt main capable of more than 1000HP

  • If I got this motor for my 93 Ranger how much would it cost for things other than the motor. Like a high preformance tranny for example or chassis if nesecarry would I need those? just curious cause I have really never done an engine swap before.

  • then i wouldnt start with something like a v8 ranger swap, its not insanly difficult but it does require some know how and cutting

  • there is no cutting required to do this swap but yeah the know how part is a most. And to answer your question blazer It depends on your budget and what type of transmission you want my cost me 3gs and it's manual. Go do some search and find out what you really want. Good luck!

  • does it got flow master?

  • it had flow master but now it has magnaflow

  • that is tits!

  • how much did it cost ?

i have 95 Ranger want to do this whats ur times?

  • This motor cost me like 7-8 gs cuz I bought everything new, but you can get one for less. No times yet

  • this may sound dumb and all but did it fit right under the hood or did you have to do some mods? i'd like to know cause i've got a 93 ford ranger and i want to do somethin like this

  • Not 2 many mods but go to

rangerpowersports . com they have a v8 section for you to have an idea.

    Good luck

  • man,, its so fast the bed fell off

  • nice ranger man, is that still the stock transmission in it? I would hope not haha

  • it sounds really good. do you have headers on it or something?

  • At the time of this video I only had the headers installed nothing more.

  • That's not normal for a Ranger to sound like that...

    I love it. :)

  • LOL I know right?

I liked the sound when I start it. Every time I started the truck sounded like something blowing off LOL. When the truck was like this(open headers) I used to set off car alarms for like 2 blocks from me but now is ALOT quiet than this. Check out my newest video of the truck, it now sports a pt88 turbo with a 4-bolt main 302boss block.

  • that's a badass ranger!

  • Thanks!!

  • I bought the short block assembly on ebay. also the heads with the roller rocker arms, everything else is from summitracing and jegs

  • sounds like a monster, very lovely sound. Very beautiful

  • Thanks!!

  • No prob, nice work. What kind of rearend and gears are you runnin?

  • I currently have a 9 inch rear with 4.11s

  • i love that V8 Sound!!!!! ITS AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • I LOVED it too but now its kinda gone.

I have a new setup. Different block, headers and now i've gone with a pt88 turbo.

    check out my other video.

  • i already did, its awesome too.

  • pretty badass, except for those rims haha

im building a 5.0 for my ranger right now

but my truck is for teh desert

  • Rims are going out but with time. I bought these rims way before I put the v8 in it.

Good luck with your project remember to post some vids!!!!

  • no offense but its a ranger, why would you do this to a ranger.

  • why not?? people do it all the time to pos chevy s10's....it would be funny to pull up toa tuner and bust'em in a truck hehe

  • no offense taken but like medlinsrednose said why not? There are too many mustangs, camaros, corvettes ect... I want to be unique. And it nice to see people turning heads and asking me WTF do you have in it?? To me is just as satisfying as owning a mustang or corvette BUT THATS JUST ME!!!!

  • i love ford and that is a bad ass ranger...

  • Now that I turboed the truck, I can say its a bad ass ranger

  • sweet truck! how fast is it in the quarter mile?

  • I don't know yet. With the old motor I never had the chance to tune it or go to the track.

  • how did you route the steering? was it a problem to re do it?

  • In the video I had the stock power steering system, but as of now I have to make a custom (real short) power steering pressure hose which will be done soon in addition to the re-routing of the fan(it's going to be a puller due to the intercooler)

  • Music to my ears!

  • wow, sweet work! i bet it flies.

  • thanks and yeah it flew. No traction in 3rd gear, with the new motor will have none lol

  • will stroking a 302 to 347 have any effect on the life of the engine?

  • BeboAltizer:

No it won't have any effect on the life of the engine if it built correctly. Newer 347 kits have corrected the oil consumption issues of some of the first 347 piston designs. Wrist pin placement issues as it were. Google FordStrokers and check their kits and short blocks.

  • cool, thanks!!!!

  • go with a 60's 289 hipo block or an after market but if u use a roller block the valleys split really easily so be carefull and good luck with ur project :)

  • thanks. ☺

  • Hey 302proj how is /did the 302 swap go ? I know you said you cracked the head on the stroked 347 ? Don't much about engines but when you stroke it are you just making the throw further or do you actually bore out the cylinders ? I would assume if boring the cylinders you would make the block weaker..

  • No not the head, it was the block that cracked. And the block was already bored when i bought it and yes the bigger the bore the weaker the block gets.

  • whats the mileage?

  • where did you get that fuel cell?

  • it's custom made

  • Nice truck. How much horsepower does it has?

  • with the new engine my plans are 800hp to 1000hp

  • I fucking rolled at that wiring job. Shotty mechanic work.

  • And I fucking "rolled" at your fucking stupid comment. If you bother to post something so stupid, why don't you bother looking at MY OTHER VIDEO so you can see how "shotty" (and I think you meant shitty, learn how to type dickhead) mechanic I am. You shitty ass poster

  • Im not the one resorting to grammar flaming because my mechanic work is below par.

  • great swap! no disrespect in my question here but are you gonna loom the engine bay wires? sounds tough as hell!

  • if you look at my other video you'll see the truck finished. but currently its got a boss 302 block with a pt88 turbo but its not done yet.

  • incredible truck man Did you do all the work yourself? looks sweet and fast. where did you get the "brand new 347"

  • Thanks. Everything in the truck is done by me.

I got the 347 stroker engine from ebay (the short block only) then bought the heads and the other parts separate, but i also bought the heads on ebay.

  • does that mean it's just a reworked 302? I've always wanted to do this swap on my 88. its pretty mint so I think it may see the swap sooner than later.

  • I have no Idea.But I know the motor is a stroker.

  • All motor. Incredible.

  • nice truck

  • I have about the same set up but my tranny is starting to go out.Which would you recomend?

  • What transmission do you have?

  • this is sweet man i am looking at putting a "89 302 from an f-150 in my 98 ranger. if it works out videos should be up this summer

  • What trans are you going to use?

  • I'm currently using a tremec tko500 tranny

  • monster°°°°°°°°°°°

  • Lol thanks

  • hey i found a guy with a lifted bronco with a 347 stroker all raced out for 3800 think its a good deal

  • It sure looks like a good deal but that is up to you

  • i wish i had money to do this

  • I'm 24 did this last year but I wanted to do this on this truck since I was 15 when my dad use to drive it!

  • I put a wienser 351 crate motor in my 99 ford ranger its fast as hell

  • 1. your full of shit and 2. learn how to fucking spell windsor

  • lmao, can a windsor even fit in a ranger?

  • of coarse. its a little too tall so you either have to somehow get a cowl hood or not run a hood, or get a body lift of two inches

  • thats beautiful

  • i was just curious but where did you get your fuel tank/fuel cell? If you don't mind me asking. i am fixing to start my V8 ranger project.

  • the fuel cell it's custom made. just take measurememts of your chasis side by side and be careful measuring front to back, cuz of the shock absorbers and the rear end. good luck with your project and don't forget to post videos!

  • Damn sorry to hear about that 302project.. GL with the 302 swap.

  • Bad News guys!!!!

I had to take my engine out due to no oil press. and I found out that the block is crack by the main support(where the crank sits), that's typical on this blocks, but this week I have a boss 302 block capable of handle 1000hp+ with new forged internals. Next week I'll try to post a video on my next block and old block.

  • That really sucks, I'm sorry :(. But judging by this video, I know you can make it right. Have a good one.

  • that is a sick awesome 302.

  • OMFG !! Beast !!! I've seen quite a bit of 302 swaps on youtube but this is crazy.. Have you dynoed it ? Wonder how much HP your beast puts out ?? I saw you said you spend around $20k plus but do you know on average how much a 302 drop in runs ? Sick ass truck by the way !! I think 20K isn't too bad considering you have basically a brand new running vehicle with a shit load of horses. Cheaper than buying a new sports car imo.. Nicely done !!

  • Fuel cell set up in the back I see--fuel injected too. This is a nice set-up.

  • Thanks!!

  • sweet lookin ranger. im a ranger fan and have been plannin my v8 swap for a while. where did you get the engine? did you do the engine build yourself? id love to see this thing goin! thanks

  • so about how much did all this run you? ive been looking into the dropping one of these in my ranger for such a long time. just need the time and money

  • clean up that wiring, and change that coil mount. thats way to long of a coil wire.

  • This is an old video meaning the the engine bay is cleaner than this...oh and the coil stays there

  • holy hell thats a bad ass ranger

  • thanks!!!!

I wish I could have a better camera to put more videos

  • very nice man! I was going to go 347 in my mustang until I just decided to supercharge it. Truck looks super clean, keep up the good work. Have you took it to the track yet?

  • Thanks!

No I have not take it to the track yet. It has a new clutch on that It doesn't have not even 200 miles on it and I need brakes on the back. LOL
