  • 22 people were not alright by themselves.

  • Who would have thought that Randy would be the bigger star in the 2000's over Steve?!?!?!?

    .

    .

  • beautiful song, from the 80s

  • Randy Jackson! Why don't they get Steve as a guest judge on Idol? can only wish...lol

  • @TheRalph1966 GOOD CALL!!

  • Hey this video is screwed up so FIX IT LOL.

  • is that randy jackson on bass?

  • @greencase yep

  • @greencase indeed

  • @greencase I thought it was Clarence Clemmons.

  • YEAH ...happy birthday STEVE PERRY! I hope you know that we miss you , my best wishes for you ,kisses .........

YOUR FAITHFUL FAN FOR EVER AND EVER

  • Mr. Steve Perry, you WOW!! me.."Happy Birthday and many more... ; )

  • i want to know how long it took randy jackson to squeeze into those leather pants YIKES!!!

  • @maybedos LOL. You wrong for saying that.

  • @maybedos LOL ROFL I wonder if they may have sewn them on....

  • Journey and Foreigner were larger than life in the 80's-saw them both-still a huge fan of their music that was the original Journey -Steve Perry- Foreigner-Lou Gramm- Sadly, today I think these bands are just ridiculous...Sorry! :(

  • Love Journey!!! Steve Perry has the most amazing voice he = JOURNEY My all time favorite band always will be no one will ever compare to STEVE PERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man Steve Perry could sing it a Cappella if he had to, no need for an Auto-Tune to "help" his voice out.

  • @carsearch2001 He has mi favorite voice... even live he's perfect and sweet

  • @YoMecanica Don't know about all that, I have heard much better singers but many pop singers, especially today, can't carry a tune.

  • fuck VEVO...

  • This makes me really appreciate Randy Jackson on bass. Thanks so much for uploading this.

  • Without Steve Smith, this is not Journey. Without Steve Perry, this is not journey.

  • @littleangel5101, Agreed totally, I saw Journey with Augeri as lead in 2004, and not even close to what I remember with Steve Perry, I left that concert with a sour taste in my mouth, Augeri could not hit the notes and had little emotion.

  • I am sooo still in love with Steve Perry and that awesome voice. No matter what I never supported the new Journey. Without Steve it is nothing. Others enjoy it if you wish but Steve made Journey. Thank God for you tube <3

  • Can you imagine what this world would be like without Perry's voice?

  • @bhuffy82 & fltgrat1 yall are so right!!!!!!! never another voice like Steve's..it can't be replaced nor compared!!!!

  • @bhuffy82- You hit the nail on the head with your comment! Steve is simply the best male vocalist of all time! I was very very lucky to see Journey twice during the 80"s. Wish I had a time machine!!

  • great song and vidio

  • would be a great song for atheists I,LL BE OK WITHOUT YOU LOL and so true !

  • The great thing about Jorney,is the back vocal;they new how to match with the leading vocal ,Steve!!

  • This band is pure magic! All i can do is smile when i watch this.

  • Randy is a cool motherfucker!!!!!!

  • good to see randy j. gettin' down

  • yo yo yo DWG Wtf!!!???

  • randy jackson, please come back with journey again they need you to play the bass the same thing from the 80"s all over again

  • I so remember this concert, I saw them in Alaska!...The raised on radio tour!...Had a major crush on Neal Schon!

  • Go Randy with your tight leather pants lol

  • is that randy?

  • Great Quote.."you can hang as much chrome as you want on a Chevrolet, But.... it will never be a Cadillac"

Perry was replaced, and the band is working and making some money. However... They are not selling out stadiums across the country. If Perry could sing, they would. its just a fact!

  • Steve is soooo Sexy & Hot!!!!

  • Randy Jackson gittin it done!!

  • This is the best .....Just found out I may have 1 to 3 grand child's this tune makes me relax !

  • Journey without Randy Jackson or Mike Baird just ain't the same. You can replace Steve Perry and still proceed forward, but no Randy or Mike....no Journey.

  • @Upyrazz Steve Perry has been replaced but It has not done it justice!!!!

  • @Upyrazz Hell no!! you can NEVER replace Steve Perry. Steve is Journey. Journey and Steve are ONE!!!

  • @Upyrazz Mike Baird was just a hired hand to play drums on the ROR tour. He has never played on a Journey studio cut. While no one is going to question Randy Jackson being a top notch studio bassist, this is the only time he toured with Journey.

Replacing Steve Perry is something that Journey has never very successfully done. Augeri was a good singer. Arnel is simply not even on the same planet as Steve Perry in so many ways.

Captured demonstrates just how good Perry is

  • Listen to Neal Schon's guitar solo!! WOW!!!

  • @musiclover3928 Easily the most under rated guitarist in the business - just fantastic all the time!

  • Journey and Steve Perry will forever rock the world!!!!!!!!!

  • Randy Jackson is playing the @ss off that bass!

That's the problem with this "Justin Bieber Generation" It's What you look like, not what you can do - TRY to do what Randy Jackosn is doing - YOU CAN'T!!!"

  • @Novaboing This generation is totally clueless about music. The 80s produced great music from very talented musicians.

    Who the hell is Bieber?

  • Randy Jackson is playing the @ss off that bass!

  • Randy Jackson in Pink... d guitar in Pink!!

  • Absolutely LOVE this video. Steve Perry looks pretty much the same, but Randy Jackson...OMG...who told him those pants were a good choice...the whole ensemble looks like it was sewed on him!

I am a ginormous fan of Journey and found this a great trip down memory lane.

  • @DramaFreeDiva I like this version of the song the best. The others are not the same without the base in this and feel to it over all. There is much heart going into this from all of them.

  • Randy Jackson and thre drummer, Mike Baird, were added at the last minute cuz of conflicts with Steve Smith and Ross Valory. This was the Raised on Radio Tour. Excellent but check out the other one Girl Can;t Help It" Randy looks crazy. Gotta love them and this a great video and song. Mike's drumming is fabulous!

  • I look at the like/dislike stat, and for the life of me I can't understand what's NOT to like about this song? It's absolutely emotionally wonderful. Journey in general is such a great group.

  • I agree...Randy Jackson looks utterly ridiculous. He is WAY too fat for that outfit

  • @thehec8 what in the world dose he have to do with this???

  • You need to marry me, I have loved you since i was 13 years old

  • I know this was the 1980s, but Randy Jackson should have known better than to wear THOSE pants.

  • This video is coming apart. The pixels are breaking up at some points in the video.

  • I wonder what happened to them that Steve doesn't want to come back. We miss you Steve, I really wish you guys could put everything aside and reunite.

  • steve perry...you r too hot too me...still. im 47 now but i rem. you , all of you when yo 1st came out. you were all everyone was talking about but you know that. your music has meant sooo mch too so many. yu made it poissible i think for guys to say waht they mean...to us. thank yu for that:)

  • @zionred, Actually Randy Jackson looks as good as most of usdid in the 80's!! You may need to loosen up a bit. :)

  • does it glitch for anyone else at 0:41

  • @bluecyanide07 Yes it does that for me too. Wish they would fix it. Ruins the whole experience of listening to the song. :(

  • Randy Jackson does look ridiculous but he sounds great up there with Steve Perry. I would not mind looking ridiculous for the chance to sing with Steve Perry.

  • Look at those skinny jeans LOL

  • One of my favorite (and critically underrated) Journey songs. And check out future "American Idol" judge RANDY JACKSON jamming on the bass guitar! (3:02-3:45)

  • @DaddyTre65 haha, Randy Jackson knows how to "walk the walk" and this is proof :). Love Randy!

  • One of my favorite Journey songs. Missing Steve!!!!

  • ugh i luv his hair its looks so fluffy

  • Great memories being at this concert. I remember when Steve Perry was making a funny face at 4:05...My friend and her dad were overlooking the stage. Great seats at Brendan Bryne Arena...miss those years so very much...I'm forever "Stuck In The 80's"...No other music will do!!!

  • @LStarFish65 Me too !!!

  • @LStarFish65 I hear ya. Remember this though....we were there. lol

  • @LStarFish65 At least you got to see Steve Perry sing live. I would give anything to see Journey with Steve Perry again.

  • I kind of look at Arnel this way as he relates to Steve Perry's talent, you can hang as much chrome as you want on a Chevrolet, it will never be a Cadillac.

  • @bHuffy82 oooo

  • Steve Perry is unreplaceable, I so like this song, all the songs of Journey with Steve Perry.

  • this looks like a good time!!!

  • i miss steve

  • best song ever heard

  • arnel is just a steve perry ripoff

  • I wish I could see these guys in concert now- I mean these guys, the original Journey, not the subs they have now. Steve Perry is Journey and without him the group isn't worth buying a concert ticket for. I missed my chance, I was just too young, thats all

  • Look at Randy Jackson on bass. Long before American Idol.

  • @turboboy68 Long before the talent show was the main focus of getting talent.

  • only steve perry the best!

  • Rob Reiner, guest drummer.

  • @20carrocks

That is Mike Baird on drums not Rob Reiner! Hope you were kidding Dude. Steve Smith was not on this tour as was not Ross Valory. Some personal conflicts had them out on this one.

  • Steve Perry ---pozdrowienia z POLSKI

  • LOVE THIS BAND SEEN THEM IN OHIO IN 1978

  • Steve Perry is the bomb. So sick of Journey impersonators. Steve's voice is too great and different to try and duplicate. Please throw away all Journey Tribute bands!!!

  • This is the Journey I know and remember...

  • Love Neal Schons afro

  • Maxine Waters has done her work

  • The keyboard player looks like he's wearing some garb from the Black awareness month class

  • WE MISS YOU STEVE PERRY" It's all because of you, I'll keep holdin' on "

  • @TheJte1979 he should try and convince Steve Perry to be a judge. Why they have JLo as a judge..Ill never understand

  • @lcc726

Randy has approached Steve to be a judge on Idol, but declined because Steve doesn't feel comfortable judging other people. It would be cool though......................

  • much better than steve in 94, I mean steve is the best but with journey is better

  • 80'ssssssssssssssssss : )))))

  • Comment removed

  • @TheJte1979 Goodness, I googled it. Tis true. This IS one of those Jackson brothers, no?. My word!. Oh well, I guess a musician, is a musician, is a musician.......

Thank you (and google) for the info.

  • @chandy64 He wasn't one of the Jackson 5 if that's what you're saying...

  • @Fretdemonxxx That's actually what I meant. Goodness. Thanks. I re-read google. D/k American idol and assumed every Jackson in music must belong to that family.......

  • @TheJte1979 LOL. Don't think so, sweetie.

  • @chandy64 Yes he did play bass with Journey. He has mentioned it several times on AI as well. Look it up.

  • this song sucks

  • so gorgeous that man I could hold him forever

  • Journey with Steve Perry is the ONLY way to go. I just have this one question about this live version...First of all, he is telling us "I Will Be All RIght Without You", but at the end he is saying "Someday Baby, Maybe Your Heart Will Be MIne." He needs to pick one! Either it's over, and he'll be okay, or it's not and maybe she'll love him in the end. I"m confused.

  • @BeakyPeartree Perhaps he's confused too. Love is very confusing, you know.

  • Love his hair

  • if u love AOR music like this check WORK OF ART THE GREAT FALL

  • Thank you You Tube for making this particular concert videos available and VEVO you are a great place for everyone to check out and join.

  • Randy Jackson looks ridiculous

  • @zionred What? You don't like black leather pants with "love" written on them and pink jackets with fringe? What's wrong with you?

  • @zionred I know, for someone with an ego like his.

  • @zionred ha ha that was the style back then. The 80's was an interesting decade...glad I was old enough to enjoy it. :)

  • @zionred but he totally rocks with Journey :)

  • I will be alright without you even though you left without a goodbye.

  • @jakfuki- I agree, they need to get their own songs, but how, without Steve perry. Journey was nothing untill he came along. I was going to see Journey this summer and after seeing some videos with the new guy, couldn't do it. Perry has a Jersey accent, not Asian and you can hear it. I would like to know what Steve perry is up to these days.

  • can tell it is in the 80's with the mousse abuse, which they never had before or after.

  • About the g#yest Journey song ever made

  • About the gayest Journey song ever made

  • that black guy makes this video twice as good :) love the outfit!

  • Damn!! Randy Jackson is barely in the video. I'm telling you, back in the day they were a bit racist.

  • It's true that no one else is a sub for Steve Perry. Sure, the new guy is great, but it would be better if the band would get a new singer who didn't try to sound like their former meal ticket. LOL. Every singer to take Steve's place since he left has zero identity of their own, and the group knows this, or else they'd go for a different kind of voice.

  • @jakfuki I agree, and this is kinda of a reason why I'm not so turned on of today's Journey. Plus they had the ACE with Steve Perry.

  • Men in the 70s and 80s wore leather that drive women crazy in ways we can't explain. Wish I was 30 in those days. Love the music!

  • yeah i had tickets 3 years ago to theses guys but didn't even bother going cause Steve Perry was not there. had bought tickets hearing how good the new singer was, then the day came & i was eh, who cares? not journey with out Steve Perry

  • That is not Clarence Clemoms or Randy Jackson of The Jackson Family. That is Randy Jackson of American Idol. He has played with several bands.

  • if u love AOR music like this check WORK OF ART THE GREAT FALL

  • I just heard on the radio that Neil Schon said in a recent interview that if Steve Perry ever wanted to come back to Journey, he & the band would be open to it. I'll believe it when I see it but can you imagine how fast those tickets would sell out? It'd probably sell out every arena in the world & be the biggest tour of the year. Let's hope (pray) they can settle their differences & make this happen. Just one tour. That's all we ask!

  • why didnt they ad that end on the album that was great..... "Some day baby"

  • This song is absolutely epic, everything just clicks so much it's undescribable... I've listened to it some good 20 times today and I'll probably listen till I'm sick to death of Perry's voice, and that's NEVER EVER EVER gonna happen, I'll tell ya... I'm 19 years old and I think this live version would be huuuuuuge nowadays if it was relaunched, wouldn't it?

  • @mateuspfc it is the best version of this song for sure. It was perfectly played and synchronized well from beginning to end. You can actually find it on their "Time 3" collection.

  • Steve Perry is journey always was and always will be!

  • The biggest problem is Neal Schon wanted to be "all the shit" & he wasn't~Steve Perry was. I still think Perry should tour solo & schedule all his shows same time, same town as the new so called "Journey". Then let's just see where all the fans go!

  • @wp1953 You are right everyone will go to see steve

  • @wp1953

  • @wp1953 yeah, but Neal can play the HELL out of that guitar. I love both Steve and Neal.

  • @musiclover3928 I soo Agree!!! Been saying that for years, Neal NEVER got the admiration as an ultimate guitarist! They were simply MAGIC.

  • I always liked this song. This was a different direction for the band -- a bit more jazzy, especially at the end -- and it worked.

  • @kir3txsbcglobalnet Hellz yeah...totally diff sound, but it still rocks. Girl cant help it is alwas bumpin my my bucket drives my ol ladee mad

  • This needs to get more views!!!

  • Awesome. looks like they were having fun. C'mon back, Steve.

  • Steve Perry is so HOT & SEXY IN THIS....and in my book STILL IS FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN SEEING :)

  • In total, these lyrics don't entirely make sense to me, but one of my funniest moments was when my husband (of 40 yrs) & I were watching this DVD. He's SO tolerant of my love for Steve Perry. When he ends this song with "maybe baby, someday your heart will be mine..." my hubby just gave me a resigned look & said, "Oh, that ship has already sailed..." I CRACKED UP! After all these years HE obviously has my heart, but Steve Perry can have a little bit of it!

  • I would freaking burn down an orphanage just to be at that concert!!!!!

  • best voice ever steve

  • Raised on Radio Album was a SMASH!!!!!!

  • i love this song and the Other one girl Can't help it no one Can replace steve perry but this new guy is doing a good job but i love steve's voice it's beautiful sent from heaven

  • sub,sub,sub.....ty for being there

  • I too miss Steve. But, please give the man a break. You can see how much he moves around on the stage. No wonder he had hip problems. The guy is 62 and he needs to finally have a life. But...he can sing to me anytime!

  • very easy to recognize a member of the Jackson family...yep its Randy... People according to steve he left Journey and the touring grind was because of the many personal problems and losses he was encountering in his life. His mother was a huge loss for him and his many health problems limit him as well. Knock off all the stupid comments.. geeze

  • @3berners3 very easy to recognize a member of the jackson family...? There isn't any jackson family in this video that's for sure.

  • @3berners3 This Randy Jackson is not the same Randy Jackson from the Jackson family...

  • WOW, this is the best I've seen Steve Perry look....love the perm!!

  • This is a classic video of Journey's venture into the Big Hair 80's !!! A shocker at the very least ..... and Randy Jackson was looking mighty lean!!
