Can you please 'splain me why you're typing on that little sliver of an application window when you have almost a full screen there...albeit a 4:3, 1:1 or 3:4 screen? And also why do you have this thing set to 360p. You could have probably done 720p and then we could learn something. Even though I've already learned that FD is for real fruitcakes.
For those new to screen writing that need help an excellent book to read that walks you through the process of creating a viable and sellable screen play is Syd Field, Screenplay - The Foundations of Screenwriting. Takes you from concept to finished script... excellent guide.
so, just ordered final draft.. CANT WAIT! but, does anyone have any advice on log lines, synopsis, querys, treatments, or anything like that... is there a program for that stuff?
@dathotki I have two screenplays I can't wait to put into proper format and see where they may/may not take me career wise. Only problem I'm noticing now since I barely have enough money to afford Final Draft, I see I have to, or suggesting to purchase "Microsoft Word" for another $120 (which had long expired on my windows 7), instead of me just using/merging microsoft works?! Why do I need word if I'll be purchasing Final Draft anyway? Any advice?
@brandon98188 Hey maybe your not just ready yet. Keep developing your idea in your head, or trying making little scetches, and once your idea is fully formed writing should become a lot easier a task.
a question: my movie starts off in black and white and then about a quarter of way into the story it changes to full color... and then back to black and white at the end. Do I need to type Black & White or Color at the beginning of each Action, or is there a way to say all Actions from this point are Black & White and all Actions from that point are Color?
@pessenfeld - There is no norm for this as of course people rarely do it. i would literally write "first 5 scenes (or how ever) many shot in black and white" at the very beginning. Then when you change to colour "action changes to colour" or "all future scene in colour" something like that.
Good voice tutorial, but ya need to zoom in to see your screen. Very hard to follow without seeing what you are doing.

Only problem is you can't see what he is doing on the screen, you have to do it on your own as he talks along.

Moving the app itself to the dock isn't like moving it to the desktop. Works fine with any app, since it's an alias automagically.

@randomproductions58 Final Draft 8 will handle most of that, but I think Microsoft word is better for the treatment.

excellent tutorial except video is such poor quality.
cannot see what you're doing.
try to zoom in to the area of interest and output a higher quality video.
