I just now dug up my old beat-up CD and popped it into my computer and loaded up my emulator. If anyone hasn't played this, seriously, find a good ROM, setup your ePSXe, and freaking PLAY THIS.
On that note, after actually playing this all the way through (finally), I'm pretty damn sure the script writer is some kind of genius. (Maria's final scene with Smiley, epic much?)
The voice actors definitely had a serious case of corniness sometimes though. X_X
would love a remake, awesome story & even more room for deeper storyline. the griffon is awesome, def a macross tribute. to think of this in unreal engine 3.....haha would be awesome.
thought it was funny how every1 else gets a crappy mecha, & u get the cool one, but u do get to see another cool one at some point, & u see ur own at many points. animation was crappy, but what do u expect from psx? would love to see the storyline as a whole. prelude, & aftermath, game leaves u hangin a bit.
There is barely any record of this game existing. It's kinda sad since this is a great game with one of the best stories. I've searched but can barely find anyone who knows of this game or has even played it.
I played this game when I was little. I rented it from blockbuster and I thought it was truly amazing. I found it a couple of years ago on ebay and bought it. There is no way this game is going to be remade. I talked with a guy from ATLUS and they have almost no record of this game even existing. I have the only remaining copy of their records I believe. It's a small paperback strategy guide (it could fit in the case). I seem to have misplaced it though. :(
I wonder...if this game were ever remade(I feel the story alone deserves another shot), if they would hype up the action, or go towards a more darker/scary theme...I mean, You got dark hallways, possessed colonists, zombies, run-a-way viruses...The potential for a survival horror story is definately there.
Dark Hallways? Possessed Colonists? Zombies? Run-a-way viruses?? I think you could just play resident evil instead! But I guess this does have giant mechs
I have to agree that is not the kind of game some kids should be playing, then again many things we have out now a days tend to be the same way. Well anyway this is by far one of the best games for the PSX and I feel that it should have gotten more attention. Out of all the people I know or forums I go to only a handful of people know what I'm talking about. I keep this on my PSP it's that good. However there need to be more vids uploaded here about this game. So far I've only seen 2.
As far as kids go, this game is completely harmless. There's no more violence in this game than...hell...Project Horned owl, or virtua cops. But as for the quality, I thought I was like one of seven or so people who actually played the game, let alone liked it.
Oh yeah, and in the Jap version, Stormy has less clothing and carried a whip around with her. And Killer's name was "Murder."
The game was rated Kids to Adults, but there are a lot of things in this game that I can't imagine adults letting their kids see if they were like 8 years old. They could get nightmares or somethin'.
It really did - I was 9 when I got the game...on accident really..my grandma got it for me for my birthday and it's been one of the most remembered games of my life. I just got a PS emulator on PC and got this...it's a cool game and is freaky as hell. That monster stuck in my mind for ages.
I remember playing this game as well, I still have it somewhere. Got it for free from a friend and got really into it despite its most major flaws. I got really far and into the game, up until the game froze up at a point and was unpassable. Despite the game being horrible, I'd play it again...
i bought this off of ebay..cause i remember renting it alonnnnggg time ago....it ...freaked me out actually...at that time, i loved the idea of having a platoon of soliders slowly wiped out one by one...i always wondered who would live or die...etc
epic? but this game's story is so cliched :v

...Huh, I don't remember that sound. Maybe this was a lost Sega CD version? Sounds like it.

When the hell did Space Griffon videos start getting uploaded???
I've must've beaten this game a dozen times, and I even got the import Dreamcast version a few years ago.
This is one of the best games I ever played that I came across by accident in '95. My brother bought it for me and we didn't even know what it was.
For a mech game, it was creepy-as-hell, and had some of the best voice-acting of that time. MUCH better than RE's. It had a LOT of dialogue, too.
Thanks for uploading!

The game hasn't changed much from it's prototype state. The only thing I can see different is the Energy and Body bars have additional color.
