LH is an easy target for people who think their film connoisseurs to put down. It's unabashedly sentimental and romantic and mixed with modern songs. LH is not "lost" on the right audience. It can be enjoyed on several different levels. At this stage of the game putting it down tends to say more about a ones own tired cynicism than it does about the film. It's a MUSICAL FANTASY for godsake. Too easy a target.

Thanks for all the kind comments. The soundtrack of Lost Horizon always fed my imagination because I never saw the movie. Till last year. It's amazing that they could make such a bad movie with that great score. We hope to find inspiration soon to make another one!

I beg to differ. LOST HORIZON is not a bad movie. In fact, it's a very strange mixture of straight drama and musical comedy. The film isn't "lost" on the right audience. Why shouldn't Shangri-La be a slightly goofy place? It's the score that makes this film unique. I disagree with the comments that your version of this song is better than the one in the film. It's a tribute, yes, but you're also mocking it.

Quit putting down LOST HORIZON. It is what it is and it's probably the most wonderfully campy musical with mixed in straight drama ever made. It's the Bacharach/David music that makes this film as special as it is and the Kellerman/Hussey number is one of the best numbers.

I've watched the movie several times, because of all the incredible musical numbers. It's unfortunate that not everyone appreciated this movie for the great talents of Bacharach & David. I agree it's one of the best songs in the movie, and that's how I found this performance. It's too bad the original performances from the movie keeps getting pulled.

One of Bacharach's more difficult numbers to "sing"... While Kellerman and Hussey sang it charmingly in the original circa '71 [Lost Horizon] film, you fellows have a much better sense of editing and choreography which in the end - seems better. I find this more 'watchable' than the original.  A good chuckle too. Nice job.
